I guess this trailer was specifically made with English audiences in mind. As I saw English comments hating on the Japanese trailers but this one getting a bit better reception. I guess there’s a difference between ads for English & Japanese audiences.
The key to this show no matter what it looks like is how much heart is shown. The writing, the characters, the situations those are the important things because it feels like the important part of this is the wholesome "family man won't kill" vibe.
Hi, this is the trailer editor! Regarding your confusion, the cut was gonna be its own promo for English dub/North American audiences, but I guess the global marketing team liked it and decided to repurpose as the final trailer 😆Thanks for reacting!
Im glad the trailer is only in dub, gives people (like you) a chance to hear the other versions and give them a chance. Dubs have vastly improved over the past few years and its time for people to notice
I'm gonna be honest, this trailer is looking a lot more promising. The biggest issue was the action and it's looking pretty fluid here. Can't wait to see how things go!
This is going to be fucking peak anime, manga super fanboys just be delusional because Mappa, Wit, MadHouse or Bones isn't animating it. I say this as someone who has read 15 volumes of Sakamoto Days and I think this trailer looks plenty promising.
I think your dismissal of the criticism is as unjustified as the doomsday-proclamations from the opposite side. We have recently seen several Weekly Shounen Jump anime with amazing animation that makes use of the medium to enhance and uplift the source material: Undead Unluck, Elusive Samurai (until they ran into production problems), recent arcs for One Piece and obviously Dandadan. Then there's also Demon Slayer and JJK, where the high quality of the anime actually allows people to follow what's happening in the fights because the manga does a pretty poor job of making the choreography understandable. On the flipside we also have Red Cat Ramen - which in fairness was a niche series and clearly had a miniscule budget behind it - aswell as the disappointment that was Blue Lock Season 2. With all the hype that the recent action-focused years of Sakamoto Days had, many people were expecting an anime that recreates these feelings and allows it to reach the similar levels of epicness as the great animations we experienced recently. With the abundant material that has been released so far, it's absolutely justified to limit your expectations to "hopefully the animation will reach decent levels of adequacy". It can work for the first ~40-50 chapters of the series, because those were more slice-of-life comedy with action elements, but it's still a bad baseline for potential future seasons. Just imagine if Demon Slayer had animations akin to the average isekai revenge fantasy series. That's kinda what this feels like to many of the people approaching this with a somewhat pessimistic mindset.
The criticism was just that people were upset that a series that's known for it's incredible fighting choreography wasn't getting an adaptation that lived up to the manga. Mind you that's starting to change with this trailer, but it's true that some detail is still even removed from this. It's not just a matter of the industry setting high expectations but rather the manga itself. I do agree that some people are going overboard with the hate but when the manga is so well done and series with rougher manga's have better quality I can recognise why people are so critical. Both sides here have some valid points and neither should be dismissed. All we can do right now is hope together the anime turns out amazing and as of now it's slowly making it's way further towards that.
@@tobiasreinhold7642 TMS Entertainment is the same studio that animated Undead Unluck, so already proving yourself uninformed from the start. Blue Lock S2 was because like only 1 dude animated it and it factually had a redemption in quality at the end of the season, even more impressive when you consider the pure lack of staff on the project. The manga of Sakamoto Days has brilliantly illustrated choreography making it easy to follow the fights already, so this is also a moot point. And no my dismissal is appropriately placed, considering they were already calling the entire series a flop without a single episode having released. And yes I agree after the first 50-70 chapters (roughly 2 cours worth of material or 2 "seasons") they will need to showcase more high end sakuga to convey the same level of hype as the manga. Luckily there is no shortage of amazing freelance animators in today's industry to bring in for bigger moments. That is exactly what Toei is doing for nearly all of it's over the top sakuga laden fight scenes in One Piece.
@@tobiasreinhold7642Wow you pulled some fancy words out there, looks like you're defending someone on the court. I get it, the animation isn't good and doesn't have the expectations that people wanted. For me, I would rather wait 4 years to wait for big studios to animate it rather than some bad studio getting it early. But we can't do anything about it, we can just hope the animation picks up from Cour 2 in July though it might pull a Blue Lock Season 2.
I dont understand how these reactors yapping about it in English. Like for the trailer's sake we need to understand what's going on. When did Netflix release a series that does not available in multiple language anyway!
Dawg, its a Japanese show. I prefer to watch all shows in their original language with very few exceptions. Indian in Hindi, Korean in Korean, Chinese in Mandarin, American in English, etc.
0:29 eh.. but netflix has almost nothing to do with the production, it is just the streaming platform, who is really responsible for how the anime will look is the TMS studio who is the one who will animate it, netflix doesn't have much influence on this
They do, just some bits bc Netflix doesn’t take any anime bad animation but I saw first 4 eps and all I can say is it’s mid/bad animation some moments good/lil good animation
Netflix definitely wants people watching the show on their platform. If this show doesn't have positive discourse, people will be less likely to watch. So maybe not "we didn't fuck up" and instead "this isn't fucked up." My point isn't about blame for production being on Netflix, which I haven't seen any discourse about, but rather that Netflix is trying to get people to watch the show after all the negative Twitter discourse.
I will watch too. If the animation is far from the quality of the manga, it doesn't matter, because I can just read the manga straight away, and the best thing is, I will know the voices of the characters so I can read with better experience.
The gear 4 thing it could be, maybe its like the aura or the energy he gives off and people just see him with the old sakamoto physique, who knows its anime it could be cream puffs that does that to him. lol
If more people are interested in the dub over sub, I do not mind switching I just tend to watch anime in its original language with every few exceptions
I prefer dubs for animation myself, but this dub in particular is interesting just from the cast. Matt Mercer, Dallas Liu, Xolo Maridueña, ProZD, Aleks Le, Alexa Bliss, etc. Weirdly stuffed with a mix of top-tier VAs and actual celebrities (who are casted in other Netflix things notably). Who knows what this is gonna end up sounding like.
I'm sure it will be great for people that enjoy dubs. I just prefer watching shows in their original audio. I understand the Eng dub and JP dub are both releasing simultaneously, but I still feel I would rather watch the Japanese anime in Japanese just as I watch English shows in English, Korean dramas in Korean, Chinese movies in Mandarin and so on. Like Invincible Arcane and Vox Machina I never even thought to find a Japanese dub. Those are English spoken shows.
@@FreshestAnime I totally get having a preference, and I respect it. I can't watch live action dubs myself because the mismatched lips to voice are way too distracting, as well as knowing that's a real person who has a real voice I could hear instead.
@@FreshestAnime you say that yet you prefer cyberpunk in eng…a anime that was made jn japan and ONLY inspired by the game series. Make it make sense bro.
2:02 I can understand being a sub watcher and not referring English. But this is just flat out disrespectful especially to the VA’s. The eng dub isn’t even bad, sounds like something that came straight out of invincible🙄
There’s only a dubbed trailer? Did they make the trailer specifically for English speakers? As the Japanese trailers previously weren’t so well received, especially from English commenters, but this trailer was better received from them. So maybe that’s the reason there’s no subbed trailer? And I’m not sure what’s your problem with the dub here, as the dub looks great in the trailer.

Even though Japanese sub is better, acting like Dub are unwatchable is pretty disrespectful to the voice actor when the quality is good.
I still watch most anime in Japanese but dub quality being bad has been an echo chamber meme since about mid 2010s where the quality just kind of became standard good (plus you already had some standouts before). Bad dubs are pretty much just the exception now rather than the other way around of having the occasional good dub in the 2000s.
I shaved my head Oct 2023 and thought about growing back in June 2024 but eventually shaved it again in Septmber because honestly, why do I need hair 🤷♂️
idk if this is much of a spoiler, but sakamoto is simply losing weight. this is part of the charm of the series, it has many ridiculous feats, like sakamoto slimming down in a moment and then getting fat again a dat later

I wonder if you're actually going to react to Kuroko no Basket. It got recommended to hell and back on that one community post.
It's actually hilarious that netflix JAPAN had the trailer in english with japanese subtitles😂😭
I mean, they always do it in reverse, so, why not switch it up a bit.
It's removed now 😭😭 i want to see the comments reaction but there removed the trailer lmo

Great trailer. That explains a lot, thanks.
This trailer is so much better than the previous ones

I'm sure they have improved, I still would just rather listen to all content in their original audio and 9 time out of 10 that is Japanese for anime.
I can understand not liking a dub if the voice acting is bad but if its goated like dbz or fullmetal alchemist brotherhood i dont get the issue
I didnt even not like the dub, Im sure its great I just watch everything in its originally intended language with very few exceptions
