How I beat Manus: 1. Used a strength build w/ fast rolling (greatsword+15, grass crest shield). 2. Silver pendant to black his dork beads. 3. No summons, it doubles his hp. 4. He roars right before his combo attack, roll away when he roars. 5. He'll often slam his big hand down and leave it there for a second or two, punish him for that. 6. Hp out the ass.
I’ll admit, when I encountered manus with my knight, I never knew about the silver pendant until my 7th play through. I don’t know how I managed to kill Manus the previous 6 times prior

I beat this boss in my second attempt. Full Havels, Uchigitana +15, 40 dexterity and 30 vitality, and a +5 Silver Knight Shield. I just held the shield up anytime I wasn't attacking or very low on stamina. No problems at all. I think the shield (77 stability) made it easy, because I was every only damaged by the combo for 1 hit - I think I was knocked down instead of being stun locked.
Did he know that there's a bonfire just before entering the Chasm of the Abyss? It would have made the trip back to Manus infinitely shorter on subsequent retries against him.
I didn’t thought that after defeating Gwyn I would INSTANTLY START NG+, and I hadn’t beat manus neither kalameeth, just artorias, so my first manus and my first kalameeth battle was in ng+, oh I miss my fricking sanity
Did all bosses NG. NG+ Kalameet was a nightmare and Manus took me 5 sessions of an hour to conquer. The worst thing about him was I had certain moves mastered but I kept getting greedy or was not quick enough selecting the silver pendent and he'd waste me with magic.
I did the entire DLC on NG+ too and it was a HORRIBLE experience in the best way possible haha. All of the bosses were so tough - I think Kalameet was the toughest.
1) Rescue Sif so you can summon her for the fight. 2) Get the silver pendant so you can block his dark attacks. 3) Try to summon a random player to get rekt instead of you. 4) Only use fast roll. He does a ton of damage, so screw heavy armor anyway (although 80 endurance+havel ring+favor ring will make it possible to wear full black iron armor with a grass crest shield and a weapon of 10 weight, which makes the fight way easier). 5) Have the grass crest shield on your back, as dodging is something like 90% of this fight. 6) Only 2 hand big-ass weapons with long range, as he jumps around and is hard to hit even for his size, and has a ton of health.
Sif is a female name from Norse mythology, and so it makes no sense for Sif to be a he, but as far as I know, the sex of the wolf is not mentioned in the game.
Nothing like coming to see a rage video that starts out with a giant hand pimp slap kill. if only Manus could point down after that would have been awesome.
This guy gave me trouble for four hours my first go around with him until I just summoned sif to help. Then on my next playthrough, I tried the same fight with almost the same build, and I beat it first attempt. It's like that Zen mode you go into when you get beaten enough where you play flawlessly, and think it was easy afterwards, but without the beatings first. I really wish that you could fight bosses a second time in the same playthrough. It was really fun, and I want to kill ones like Artorias, and O&S again.

It’s very slow, and definitely shouldn’t be used in this fight which requires a lot of mobility and great reaction time.
