The Water Thief story sounds like OP's from India. Many unhinged people here steal water from their neighbours. Back when I lived in Gujarat as kid, a Gujju-joint family were our neighbours. They often stole our water, and even broke the chain on the tank my father put on. Some people are truly unhinged.
A thought occurred during the second story. Why are there so many people in this subreddit who are willing to put up with abuse when it's directed at them, but the moment someone else they care about are impacted by it, the proverbial gloves come off?
Simple answer: It's easy to see the red flags when it's external. It's easy to care for other people. It's harder to see the red flags when they're directed at you. It's easier to internalize blame and doubt when you're the injured party.
Because the people not willing to put up with abuse are the type of people to shut shit down before it escalates to "pro revenge" level. Also, I figure some of these posts are "impotent rage" fictions.
I can tell you that in my case, it's because I was always taught that I deserved it, and that other people were always more important, that my own needs and wants are just selfish. Ergo, when someone is doing something bad to me, it's okay, but when someone else is doing bad to someone else, then it's not.
@@ragdollfantasiesYeah, pretty much that. I find it incredibly difficult to treat myself with the same basic kindness and respect that I give other people (strangers, even!), so it doesn't register as egregious. I'm working on it, I'm working on it...
So I actually have an example of this. I used to have a friend who has some pretty bigoted friends and family and when she asked me to be her "man of honor" in her wedding and for my girlfriend to be a bridesmaid (context: I'm a trans dude and we grew up together. she'd never met my girlfriend (who is also trans) but tbh I was pretty much her only friend at that time because she kinda sucks at taking accountability, hence why we're not friends anymore, so she didn't have many options for her bridal party), I told her that I would, but that if anyone was intentionally disrespectful to my girlfriend (obviously I was not talking about an accidental misgendering situation, but rather about malicious intent), I would be leaving unless the offender was told to leave. I said that they could call me all the slurs they want, because I would've been there for her, not for myself, but by bringing my girlfriend, I would be responsible for making sure she was comfortable and safe, so I would not tolerate it directed at her. The friend agreed to this enthusiastically, but brought it up in an argument she picked a few months later, which is when I stopped talking to her (many other factors but tbh this comment is already too long)
Story 1: I was confused at first when OP called out his wiring as “90s era wiring” but then I remembered OP is in a different country. My house built in 1990 has a large breaker box and in my case it would trip a breaker on the circuit that’s overdrawing and that’s that. Houses built with fuses over circuit breakers are much older where I am.
The whole "i dont understand this, so i assume you wouldn't understand it either" is not the move, rSlash. I get it, you don't want the story to become boring by including the technical part that your average audience won't understand, but the way you deliver this message is very... interesting (not in a good way). You could've said "i am going to skip the tech part, but you can pause this video if you want to read the details" or something similar, therefore you wont make your audiences who actually understand the stuff (you have a big number of sub, rSlash, so there'd be A LOT), cringe at what you said😂😅 But as always, good work on the video. Sorry for nitpicking.
Story 3 is more nuclear revenge than pro revenge IMO. The consequences feel a bit disproportionate to the crime. Then again, you get what you pay for. If you don't want your connection getting hijacked, you really shouldn't use your neighbor's connection (or any public connection IMO). Cyber security is a real bitch.
Never let someone use your wifi, unless it's a trusted friend. You can be held liable for it, if some ahole looks at porn with obvious gross intentions that needs not be mentioned.
Story 2 made me think of a girl I "know", tho this was more her own doing then revenge. She plays in the same orchestra as me, but I go out of my way to not have to talk to her, especially after I almost punched her in the face once backstage. This girl thinks she is the best thing to ever happen to the world. She believes she is perfect, the smartest one in the room and that she can't ever make a mistake. She once was told she kept making the same mistake in a piece. She told the others in her section that it must be them making the mistake. We had to tell her that if she is the only one to play during that bit in the piece, no one else can make a mistake. She still did not believe that it was her making this mistake. Anyway, she is smart and had it going for her. She was working on becoming a manager at the supermarket she worked at, tho it took her a few years instead of a few weeks. She also was in a honours program at university, studying something to do with biology and medical research, don't know exactly what. But a friend of me went to the same university and got insider information on what happened. At university, her classmates and professors were pretty much done with her. She never listened to anyone as she always believed she knew better (including professors) and disrespected everyone. This caused her to mess up several times during labs, she didn't listen to the professor explaining the assignment, didn't read the assignment and made something up on the spot. Somehow she managed to stay in the honours program through all of her mess-ups. That was until she made a way too big mistake. For one course she followed she had to grow cells in the lab. Apparently this is expensive, so the school didn't want them to just make as much as possible. Not all cells you grow will be good enough for research, and only a certain percentage is usable. Using that percentage the students needed to grow just enough cells to have a certain amount of good cells in their batch, and as little extra cells as possible. Of course our "perfect" girl wasn't listening when the professor was explaining all of this. She also didn't read the assignment, again. She decided that the best way to impress the professor, would be to grow as many cells as possible. After everyone was done growing and then counting and checking cells, she started bragging to everyone that wanted (and not wanted) to listen about how many cells she had grown. She bragged about how she took everyones leftover chemicals (or whatever you use growing cells), to make it possible to grow more. That is exactly what the professor didn't want happening, but since she didn't pay attention during the explanation, she bragged to the professor as well. Now she is kicked out for wasting those funds and the supermarket she is a manager at for is about to close down due to mismanagement. She still acts all perfect and blames that none of this is her fault of course.

@@mattybrunolucaszeneresalas9072Your understanding is at best slightly better than your utilisation, and the latter is trash. Your question makes no gosh darn sense! Learn basic English. Then we can explain more complicated matters.
@mattybrunolucaszeneresalas9072 While this does sound like bait of a troll, I'll humour you, and pretend it's just a communication error. But it's hard to guess how little you understand... So let's start with the basics: The buildings in the story have water reservoirs on the rooftop. These reservoirs supply all connected water consumers, like faucets, in the building with water via gravity alone. The reservoir itself is being supplied by a water pump from another location, we'll call X for now. X can be many different sources, in more rural places it might be a well, while in urban places it's usually the city's main water reservoir. Due to the reservoirs supplying all consumers only via gravity the pressure with which it will do so is based on the mass of the water, the height of the reservoir, the surface area or diameter of the outgoing pipe of the reservoir, gravity itself and of course the surface area or diameter of the incoming pipe into the consumer. Except for the mass of the water, which usually doesn't vary too much and the pipe running to the consumer the other variables never change for the same building. (Technically there are a few more factors, but with even smaller impacts) And most importantly, when multiple consumers are open, the pressure is shared based on the relative sizes between all consumer pipes, and their placements. The most basic example would be two faucets next to each other. Open only either and they'll receive the max pressure, but open both at the same time and the water pressure will be split evenly between the two. With these basics you should be able to come to the conclusion on your own, so stop here and consider them for a moment. Otherwise here comes the actual reasoning: OP made the assumption that the X of his neighbours water pump was OPs reservoir! Or more precisely when the neighbour's pump is active it is consuming water from OPs reservoir. Based on the basics, OPs hypothesis was now that while the neighbours water pump is active the pressure of OPs faucet should be reduced, and high when the pump is off. The Experiment proved this hypothesis.
"computer wizardry"? dude just overrode dns with custom hosts on router you literally have help on most router user interfaces explaining you how to do it it is literally like calling pancakes "culinary wizardry"
That 3rd story is exactly why I always use a VPN on any wi-fi other than my own. Imagine if you were re-directed to a website that looked exactly like your bank's landing page
The first story: shit, I'd have just had a talk with the old man, told him I knew he was stealing my water, made a joke about it, had him give me a partial of the bill and let him keep using the water. The irony if it may have made his coldness warm up a lil bit and maybe made him chill out(warm up to you). Like a "im not your enemy man! The state sucks!" type situation.
I assume the guy would've already had an excuse ready for that possible event. Like "a past tenant must've done that, I have no clue how it got installed" or something similar. He was angry when the OP moved in, because he knew he'd be unable to do other things he was leeching off the OP's property for. Probably he was charging his tenants to let them park vehicles and such in that building or having events there. This is not the type of person where kindness and comradery is ever an option. They only fake kindness where they can profit off it. And in this case both the guy decided Op wasn't worthy of kindness due to being a potential threat to his income, and the OP was too smart to be anything but a threat to the guy. That level of scum isn't worthy of being friends with to begin with, either.
Rslash translation for skipping a part of the story "if i dont understand it then you're too stupid to get it OBVIOUSLY!" wow. You really are becoming a Karen
Story 3: It's really not that complicated. He made it so that it appeared that nothing had changed, then used the thing that you computer uses to tell where to go to each site to pull off the rest. This isn't complex stuff, this i the kind of thing that computer whizz kids would use to mess with their peers in high school.
i was going to tweet this at you but looking at your twitter i didn't ... i got my 2024 recap and i have 95 hours of r slash podcast!! almost 4 days no break

Rslash I’m going home add words to the story for no reason also rslash I don’t understand so I just say they use computer wizard powers if I can’t under this my viewers won’t
Wow, all three of these illustrate the old saying: A little knowledge is a dangerous thing. Here we have people who know enough to take things that aren’t theirs, but not enough to keep from getting caught and Uno reversed. They don’t even know enough to recognize they’re busted.
The wi-fi story is pretty easy to explain. He set up her new router so her new network is unlisted--if you don't know it's there in advance, and what it's titled, you can't even attempt to connect. Then he modified her old network so that anyone logging in only gets a tiny bit of the internet speed they're used to, and that instead of loading up their favorite sites, it routes them to something else instead. Like imagine if you tried to go to google, and instead it took you directly to a gay porn site. Any attempt to go to google fails and you end up right back there.
Amusing to see there are countries where "water and power not working for a day? The police will deal with it" while in the states: "a guy has been stalking me for weeks! Sorry, cant help." Or "my ex is defrauding the system claimijg I'm dead!" - "huh, odd, come back when a different policeman is working"
Child bullies are just people who haven't been taught by their parents that actions have consequences. Adult bullies usually know better but are too narcissistic to care until the consequences of their actions really start to hurt them.
I hated the "nobody understands" part as i work in it. Had to google the full story and stop this video because of that. I also hate that r/slash doesnt link to the source materials so you could go read comments. (Which i have always thought to be kind of sucky and borderline content theft)
How is it content theft if he credits the user before each story? It's infinitely better than most other reddit story channels that don't even do that.
You know the audacity to be behind on your rent living in this girl’s house and then Sexting and planning on screwing. Her boyfriend does not realize how much of an awful person she is take advantage of someone and then plan to steal her boyfriend what a disgusting human being.
Story 1: call me devils advocate, but are you sure that the guy knew he was stealing your water? The line could’ve been on his property because you said you couldn’t find it on yours. I feel like this could’ve been fixed with a simple conversation…
The fact that he asked OP if he shut his water off means he knew. The dude probably disconnected his water line entirely because of his scheme. That's why his stuff burned out because he didn't have it set to fill from the municipal service if his other "service" stopped for some reason. That guy was a crook, the story as presented makes that clear. Whether or not you believe the story at all is a better question.
I get that most people probably won't enjoy or appreciate gay porn, especially since that's not what they were trying to search up, but to say that gay sex is something "completely and utterly disgusting" is kind of awful to say in my opinion. Like why not just porn in general or hardcore kinks?

The friend agreed to this enthusiastically, but brought it up in an argument she picked a few months later, which is when I stopped talking to her (many other factors but tbh this comment is already too long)
Syslogs are some of the most useful things an IT person has at their disposal. The amount of info you can get is absolutely mind boggling.
15:06 bruh that's a child's play is rslash taking us as 70's boomers
Story 3 boils down to this: Don't even mess with the IT guy's family!
According to my TH-cam recap, I spent 10,876 minutes listening to Rslash this year. Now I'm adding 16.28 to that.
Don't mess with the IT guy 🤷♀️😹
You could've said "i am going to skip the tech part, but you can pause this video if you want to read the details" or something similar, therefore you wont make your audiences who actually understand the stuff (you have a big number of sub, rSlash, so there'd be A LOT), cringe at what you said😂😅
But as always, good work on the video. Sorry for nitpicking.
Story 3, could've included ashley madison and/or grindr.
Wifi thief: rSlash, I understand the technical I.T. stuff since I do a lot of the I.T. stuff for my family.
Can you please provide the last history link? I'm very interested in the "technical mambo-jambo"...
I just got my TH-cam recap of this year, and it said that I have listened to Rslash more than any other podcast channel, for 28,648 minutes, or 477 hours, or 19 days straight 💀
R/Slash casually calling his viewers idiots
"OP goes into technical stuff I don't understand, So you won't understand either so I'll skip it"
Yup. Obviously we're not as smart as him, so why bother reading something he doesn't understand because nobody could possibly understand.
Yea. I was following the whole thing till ge said I'll skip it. Pretty much the OP had proxy server or use the router as the primary dns sever and made redirect there.
Can't believe youtube hid this from me for a whole 27 seconds
Unacceptable 😂😂❤
yay! prorevenge! my fav reddit stories!
my parents were my first bullies
I'm so sorry to hear that
Revenge and update videos are the best.
Last story: all I have to say is HACK THE PLANET! RSLASH always says this, but here goes again: don't mess with the IT guy (or his girlfriend for that matter XD )
That last story is what sociopaths do
don’t like how op said that he was making them redirect to gay porn sites among the stuff and then said “…end up with something disgusting on their screen” :/ im gonna hope he was talking about the other stuff
second story was awesome by the way
I can think of BestGore and literal hentai lol
@@crowdemon_archives hentai is straight...
1:54 how does that make him suspicious of stealing?
his water pressure was down while the water pump was going and then when the pump turned off the pressure returned to normal
@ I see. But why is only one source of water different than the other? If I’m understanding this correctly.
@@mattybrunolucaszeneresalas9072Your understanding is at best slightly better than your utilisation, and the latter is trash.
Your question makes no gosh darn sense! Learn basic English. Then we can explain more complicated matters.
@ well, if it’s so easy, then you explain it to me
@mattybrunolucaszeneresalas9072 While this does sound like bait of a troll, I'll humour you, and pretend it's just a communication error.
But it's hard to guess how little you understand...
So let's start with the basics:
The buildings in the story have water reservoirs on the rooftop.
(Technically there are a few more factors, but with even smaller impacts)
And most importantly, when multiple consumers are open, the pressure is shared based on the relative sizes between all consumer pipes, and their placements. The most basic example would be two faucets next to each other.
Open only either and they'll receive the max pressure, but open both at the same time and the water pressure will be split evenly between the two.
With these basics you should be able to come to the conclusion on your own, so stop here and consider them for a moment.
Otherwise here comes the actual reasoning:
OP made the assumption that the X of his neighbours water pump was OPs reservoir!
Happy Tuesday, Slashers!

That 3rd story is exactly why I always use a VPN on any wi-fi other than my own. Imagine if you were re-directed to a website that looked exactly like your bank's landing page
Damn I love Prorevenge stories.
This story would have been the perfect segue for an expressvpn ad XD
Rslash translation for skipping a part of the story "if i dont understand it then you're too stupid to get it OBVIOUSLY!"
wow. You really are becoming a Karen
I love a good prorevenge ..
Why would multiple people wake up at 3am to notice no power or water? Did they notice while sleeping?
Story 3: It's really not that complicated. He made it so that it appeared that nothing had changed, then used the thing that you computer uses to tell where to go to each site to pull off the rest. This isn't complex stuff, this i the kind of thing that computer whizz kids would use to mess with their peers in high school.
So the last story can count as don't f with IT?
i was going to tweet this at you but looking at your twitter i didn't ... i got my 2024 recap and i have 95 hours of r slash podcast!! almost 4 days no break
second story: let me get this straight Dolly let Karen live with her for what months or years, gave her months, anything she need and what Karen do, bully Dolly, stop pay rent and last straw, have sex and send her bf pic ,OP didn't do enough cause I would thought worst but OP did get her kick out of the school and the friends group to so it a win
Story 3: I love imagining how the guy fights his way out of the accusations of being gay.
I gotta learn how to do all that in the last story.
Also story 1, I need to know what country that is where water is $5. I'm moving there 😭🙏
Damn. That last one was brutal.
I love coming back from work to listen to the sweet drama
Good Morning Slashers! I'm wishing all of you a winning day! 😍😍😍
Holy hell I’ve never been this early to an rslash vid & I’ve been watching for 5 years
I hope that everyone is having a good Tuesday!
Very bold of Rslash to assume that just because he doesn't understand technical information in a post that we wouldn't understand it...
For me, if I don't understand it, but it sounds really interesting, I'm taking a quick online course on it from Professor Googlepants.
Exactly my thoughts. But we all know R/slash likes to think he knows more than the people watching his videos
Same way he regularly undermines English lit degrees and the rest of us working in that field
Bullys arent real people
Child bullies are just people who haven't been taught by their parents that actions have consequences. Adult bullies usually know better but are too narcissistic to care until the consequences of their actions really start to hurt them.

He used to link them but it seems 5 years has made him forget

I feel like the second story was a missed opportunity to call the Karen of the story Jolene
You know the audacity to be behind on your rent living in this girl’s house and then Sexting and planning on screwing. Her boyfriend does not realize how much of an awful person she is take advantage of someone and then plan to steal her boyfriend what a disgusting human being.
5 bucks a month, even with your neighbor stealing water. Where on earth did this take place?
Story 1: call me devils advocate, but are you sure that the guy knew he was stealing your water? The line could’ve been on his property because you said you couldn’t find it on yours. I feel like this could’ve been fixed with a simple conversation…
The fact that he asked OP if he shut his water off means he knew. The dude probably disconnected his water line entirely because of his scheme. That's why his stuff burned out because he didn't have it set to fill from the municipal service if his other "service" stopped for some reason. That guy was a crook, the story as presented makes that clear. Whether or not you believe the story at all is a better question.
What does R/slash keep saying? Don’t mess with IT guys. Story 3 isn’t necessarily a specific company’s IT guy but he is an IT guy nonetheless.

I get that most people probably won't enjoy or appreciate gay porn, especially since that's not what they were trying to search up, but to say that gay sex is something "completely and utterly disgusting" is kind of awful to say in my opinion. Like why not just porn in general or hardcore kinks?
