I remember back in the day when you upgraded your initial clamp storage system because it was too bad, and now you're upgrading it once again to make new improvements. I love watching you as your woodworking tools and style change over time, it's very authentic. Also, a great message to send, that you should never just settle. Great job, Steve!
Clamps can be difficult to store because there are so many different sizes and shapes. Here are some of my solutions. Let me know if you have any clever ideas! Read more about this and download my plans here: bit.ly/clampracks
love the videos and like your clamp storage solution, however, one of the great things about clamps is that they, well, can easily clamp to things so my clamp storage solution is a straight piece of wood all of my clamps clamp to.
My main work bench for some of my stationary tools (drill press, etc.) has a piece of 1" tall 1/8" thick MDF screwed on to the back. It was a scrap from something else (bottom of my table saw sled I think?). I just clamp all my spring clamps to that, and hook my C-clamps over the edge. Always within reach where I'm most likely to need them :)
Very good point. On many other channels I will try to skip the sponsored part of the videos. Don't have to do that here. Steve makes it fun to watch. Clever guy :)
Loved this video. I especially appreciate the beginning section where you went through what works and doesn't work about each part of your previous storage system. That's my favourite bit of problem solving, so it was great that you shared the process!
I really liked the last rendition of the behind the door space, but I do believe you REALLY nailed it (no pun intended, strangely enough) with this one. BRAVO!!!
Steve, I was wondering, while cutting the slots for the bar clamp rack, was there some reason you couldn't have just stood the piece upright? I was thinking that would have probably solved the issue of the curvature of the saw blade?
You've inspired me to do some clamp organization. Every time I try to grab a piece of hard wood I knock over 3 or 4 big pipe clamps. Your setup looks like it saves a lot of time. Like.
At the beginning of the video I asked myself what those "Kreg" clamps is used for, and now I understand. Looks like a brilliant piece of equipment for hard- to-reach places.
Steve about the bandsaw cuts, there are nowadays blades with a variable TPI, the cut they give is really good and accurate. Might be worth a try. I resawed with a 3/4 tpi or "varitooth" 5/8" blade and basically only had to do some minor smoothing to get a finished surface. It changed how I worked with the bandsaw producing such better quality cuts.
Watched your clamp rack vid fro 2013 just now, then this one. You are really great to watch, Steve! New subscriber here, really enjoyed watching this, and love your humour... it's almost British! ;)
My workshop is in my basement, so I tend to hang bar clamps from the ceiling trusses, which is rather suboptimal, because when you bump them they tend to fall down. Maybe I could make a rack like yours that would attach to the ceiling but would hold them more securely. My shop is pretty disorganised because I'm pretty disorganised, so every little thing helps.
Cats like omg y human. Interesting video. When I first saw what you were talking about with the c clamps, I thought of maybe then sitting in a groove, but your idea seems to work much better. :) my thought would've probably eventually led to the groove wearing and causing problems with holding things properly.
I like these ideas...I have 12 wooden jaw clamps, and I have never seen anyone make a rack for more than one of these. I think I'll use your idea. but make the holder longer. and it will take more than one.
I have a bunch of the quick clamps and I simply clamp them on to a ceiling support post. Bar clamps I hang off the edge of shelving and C-clamps hang on pegboard. It would be nice to have them all centralized, but my shop just isn't big enough.
Now I have change my TH-cam video , where I credit you for my clamp Rack ... Because you have changed your ..... But your new ones are GREAT !!!!!🐱Princess Meow meow
i like the new arrangement steve..i lay my 4-5ft long clamps horizontally on those big red bicycle hooks.idk if i explained that well.lolall my F style and parallel clamps i use the "slotted rack" like u have for your F clamps.works great! after that "close call" maybe the miter stand might need bigger casters?
Hey Steve, Thank you for all the great videos that really help us the real mere mortals woodworkers ( aka beginners). Could you make a video about when to use nails vs. screws. I'm afraid to use nails because of splitting the wood but sometimes I see even you use nails in some works, so when to use one or another???? Thanks in advance
there is nothing better than some h-shaped beams in your shop for storing the clamps! xD both are directly over my assembly-bench so i really dont need to find another place to store them!! yes i only have bar and c-clamps.. for pipeclamps i would have to find another solution.
I'm thankful I get to watch your channel, I'm also thankful for the Denver Broncos 😂👍🏻 good luck in the game this weekend, Broncos and Raiders face off Sunday :)
I think we can dub that response as pretentious Dou-- nevermind. The hardwood addition offers a solid base for an intensive amount of use, this is highly beneficial to those that are serious about their efforts.
Then you added the screws comment. I started laughing out loud. I watched that same TH-cam video and read your comments along with many others and it was great.
Enough clamps?? LOL I love it! This, of course, gives me some idea for my few clamps that I am starting out with....I tell my wife I can never have too many and she rolls her eyes! LOL
I store my c clamps in essentially the same way, just using a dowel rod instead. I like it when I see other people using the same design cos it means I'm on the right track. I just hang my big F clamps off the side of a shelf though
Hi Steve,How important is quick release?I have one long wooden strut three feet long and I clamp each clamp on to it with no space between and handles up. I is attached to my copy of your lumber rack.Colin in Northern Ireland
Steve if you had cut the slots on the second rack by putting the plywood on end you would not have had the problem. Just set the height on the blade and cut. Love the projects.
Steve, I went to the link provided for the plans but it brings me to a like or do not like message. Is there some where you have the plans written out. I can not tell you how much I enjoy your videos. I have another question, where do you buy all your lumber?. I am just getting started and I do not have any wood to speak of. I do have a mill close to the house and I bought a planer, so I hope to venture towards that process. It is people like yourself that makes You Tube a great tool.. Hope to hear from you.......Pete
Nice upgrade. Been a subscriber since before you made the first clamp rack. The rack for the Kreg clamps looks kinda cramped for the clamps on the left side. Do a follow-up video if it gives you any problems. I'm interested in making it.
When making the bar clamp rack, any reason why you couldn't make the cuts with the board up on it's edge, that way the slots would be the same depth front to back
Steve, for your bar clamps, why not just rotate the piece ninety degrees and make half way cuts all the way through? Could have used a register system ala finger joints for even spacing too
I remember back in the day when you upgraded your initial clamp storage system because it was too bad, and now you're upgrading it once again to make new improvements. I love watching you as your woodworking tools and style change over time, it's very authentic. Also, a great message to send, that you should never just settle.
Great job, Steve!
My opinion, your shop videos are your best ones.
Thanks. People love shop projects.
I really like how you're showing the 3D model of what you're building before you start building. Makes it a lot easier to visualize.
Clamps can be difficult to store because there are so many different sizes and shapes. Here are some of my solutions. Let me know if you have any clever ideas! Read more about this and download my plans here: bit.ly/clampracks
Steve Ramsey HEY I LOVE U AND UR VIDS BECAUSE U MAKE COOL THINGS AND I HOPE UR HAVING A GREAT DAY AND CONTINUE MAKING THESE PLZZZZZZZZZ
Steve Ramsey BTW THX FOR THE FREE PLANS
Have you ever thought about making your own clamps out of wood?
love the videos and like your clamp storage solution, however, one of the great things about clamps is that they, well, can easily clamp to things so my clamp storage solution is a straight piece of wood all of my clamps clamp to.

What I love most about this channel is about the creative way he promotes stuff.
Very good point. On many other channels I will try to skip the sponsored part of the videos. Don't have to do that here. Steve makes it fun to watch. Clever guy :)
He advertises fast, nice easy, with an informative and friendly style. That's why I can spend the time on his channel.
I cringe a lot on legit tv commercials, but this guy is legit. The tv people just need to hire him for all commercials.
yes, I ended up buying the freaking Microjig LOL and love it
It’s the thing I dislike most
Loved this video.
BRAVO!!!
It's great to watch the iterative design process evolve. Thanks for this!
I really like shop projects. We´re all tankful for having your great videos every week. Thanks to MicroJig and Harry´s for sponsoring the show.
Learnt some skill unexpectedly on watching this video. It's raising a table saw blade on cutting slots. Excellent... thank you, Steve!
learned a new word!
The pipe clamp and bar clamp racks were the first ever shop projects I made. Good times. Thanks Steve.
MY CLAMPS ARE SO MUCH USEFUL BECAUSE OF THIS VIDEO THX AGAIN STEVE
STEVE UR THE BEST THX FOR STARTING TH-cam IN THE FIRST PLACE!!!!! UR THE BEST NEVER GIVE UP ON UR PROJECTS
Thanks! I appreciate your support.
Steve, I was wondering, while cutting the slots for the bar clamp rack, was there some reason you couldn't have just stood the piece upright? I was thinking that would have probably solved the issue of the curvature of the saw blade?
Thats what I love about your channel dude: constant improvement through the time
And I'm thankful for Woodworking for mere mortals. Keep up the amazing work Steve.
I love rewatching Steve's videos💚🧡♥️
Really enjoy your video . Relaxing for the weekends. Not to mention your great sense humour.
I swear, that microjig ad gets me every time xD
This is one charismatic woodworker.
I love that nodding turning into shaking at 7:03 :D
Thanks for the update video. Glad to know what worked and didn't work in your woodworking storage.
Shots fired! Time for a WWMM vs I Build it showdown.
Great as always Steve. I have borrowed quite a few of your ideas for my shop over the years.
Always great to see a little more of Princess Meow Meow. RIP, Your Majesty.
I love that your channel is for ACTUAL mere mortals.
Also, you have a lot of clamps...
I'd love the plans for this! finding storage for my clamps has been a pain
Damn, it's been a while since I've fallen for your opening Microjig gag. Got me this time haha! Well done, sir.
You've inspired me to do some clamp organization. Every time I try to grab a piece of hard wood I knock over 3 or 4 big pipe clamps. Your setup looks like it saves a lot of time. Like.
Crazy thing is I just made similar clamp storage racks and I am almost done with the video...Thilk I'll link back to this video when I post it!
Hello from malaysia. Always enjoy watching your video 👍🏻
Cool project, always nice to rearrange certain areas of the shop from time to time.
At the beginning of the video I asked myself what those "Kreg" clamps is used for, and now I understand. Looks like a brilliant piece of equipment for hard- to-reach places.

I'm thankful for WWfMM

Almost a 'self-licking ice cream cone' type of project where you have to use clamps to build a clamp holder. Good stuff Steve!!
What a delightful man you are and I share your love a pet cat 🐱😊
Thanks for the ideas. At present my clamps are not well organized I think I will get to work on that now
nice Job you are the best Woodworking Channel on youtube for me i love your projekts so much thanks for this contant greats from good old Germany:)
Fabulous ideas, I may copy, if I have time, well done. Love the cat.
Most useful lesson from your TH-cam channel. Thanks a lot!!
Some great ideas Steve. Had a chuckle about waiting on season 2, we can't wait either. Keep up the good work mate.
Thank God I saw the improved version. I was going to start on the old version haha
Nice, clamp rack with a walnut accent. Extra fancy.
Wonderful project, thanks Steve for sharing your idea and plans.
very well thought out, I may have to borrow a couple of those ideas. Thanks for another great video.
Cats like omg y human. Interesting video. When I first saw what you were talking about with the c clamps, I thought of maybe then sitting in a groove, but your idea seems to work much better. :) my thought would've probably eventually led to the groove wearing and causing problems with holding things properly.
Thanks Mr. Steve!! This is definitely gonna help me with my clamping situation. 😁
Great! Thanks for watching.
I'd never miss your show!!😊
I'm glad you are thankful for all of those things!!?m❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕
I like these ideas...I have 12 wooden jaw clamps, and I have never seen anyone make a rack for more than one of these. I think I'll use your idea. but make the holder longer. and it will take more than one.
ALL good !! nice video !!! Have a nice weekend !!!!
I have a bunch of the quick clamps and I simply clamp them on to a ceiling support post. Bar clamps I hang off the edge of shelving and C-clamps hang on pegboard. It would be nice to have them all centralized, but my shop just isn't big enough.
lot's of different solutions - I dig it!
You have literally no he best ideas thanks!
Great video been looking for a storage system like this and this is just great
i did my clamp racks using your previous version like 3 months ago. Dammit!
Now I have change my TH-cam video , where I credit you for my clamp Rack ... Because you have changed your ..... But your new ones are GREAT !!!!!🐱Princess Meow meow

You do awesome videos and inspired me many times... one of my favorite things I build following your inspiration is my clamp rack! :-) Thanks Steve!
You can never....ahhhh
Great video and project, I hope I'll need that rack soon
4:11 "...while the blottom of the blade..." hahaha I love those tongue twist ups

Nice upgrade, Steve!
Would you ever consider doing a workflow video of how you design something? From brain to sketchup to building?
Good project and another great video!!!
Nice job Steve!
I'm thankful I get to watch your channel, I'm also thankful for the Denver Broncos 😂👍🏻 good luck in the game this weekend, Broncos and Raiders face off Sunday :)
how do you come up with so much microjig into? impressive :P
What type of screws are you using and use most for your glue ups?
Where do you get all this wood? You seem to have an infinite supply of beautiful plywood!
Great video. Any suggestions for those of us who can't hang stuff on our walls?
I've seen some really cool roll-around clamp carts with racks on all four sides.
hello, nice video as always I like the touch of humour. why didn't predrill holes in order to avoid cracking ? thank yoi
Hardwood cross brace for the C-clamps? I think we can dub that "Extra Fancy!"
I think we can dub that response as pretentious Dou-- nevermind. The hardwood addition offers a solid base for an intensive amount of use, this is highly beneficial to those that are serious about their efforts.
Gotta say. The music was the best part of this episode.
Then you added the screws comment. I started laughing out loud. I watched that same TH-cam video and read your comments along with many others and it was great.
Did you consider a French Cleat system for that wall? That way it would all be modular and adjustable.
Enough clamps?? LOL I love it! This, of course, gives me some idea for my few clamps that I am starting out with....I tell my wife I can never have too many and she rolls her eyes! LOL
wait till you have over 600 clamps and your wife walks in while you are ordering clamps off of rockler! I cant repeat the words that was said...lol
Nice job. Raider Nation all the way!
@Steve Ramsey "*it's a flathead" frickin brilliant, hilarious
Now that is the best name for a cat ever! Princess Yum Yum, priceless.
And your vids are not to shabby either, thankyou. 😎😹👍
Princess Meow Meow.
I store my c clamps in essentially the same way, just using a dowel rod instead. I like it when I see other people using the same design cos it means I'm on the right track.
I just hang my big F clamps off the side of a shelf though
Enjoyed this video a lot. Thank you.

Sometimes simple is just better - to store my clamps i just clamp them all to a shelf; it works really well!

I like the kreg rack Steve. Mine are just poked everywhere ha
That Kreg company brings out this automaxx system & for that I say thank you 👍🏻, one does wonder where clever stuff ends 🤓
Way to go Steve!
Nice upgrade. Been a subscriber since before you made the first clamp rack. The rack for the Kreg clamps looks kinda cramped for the clamps on the left side. Do a follow-up video if it gives you any problems. I'm interested in making it.
I'll definitely follow up on this in a couple years.
I thought exactly the same
Nice Thats a good setup I think!
When making the bar clamp rack, any reason why you couldn't make the cuts with the board up on it's edge, that way the slots would be the same depth front to back
I love this channel so fricken much
Nice upgrade
My storage tip for clamps are to just clamp my clamps to the wall using clamps! :3
Steve, for your bar clamps, why not just rotate the piece ninety degrees and make half way cuts all the way through? Could have used a register system ala finger joints for even spacing too
