I'm kind of fascinated because I've always heard the Manic Pixie Dream Girl trope is associated with autistic-coded or ADHD-coded characters, and I see a more direct through-line there vs. BPD representation in Ramona. I do also know that BPD can get mistaken for AuDHD and vice versa, with all three being highly comorbid, so I really appreciate hearing about this trope from a new angle and perspective! Great video- have an even better day!!!

I’ve never heard of it being associated with those disorders actually, though it does make sense if you think about it!! I’m glad you enjoyed the video regardless!

As a guy with BPD, it's always interesting for me to see the perspective of my female counterparts. I do enjoy the discussion of comorbidty, the fact that is called borderline is often overlooked

Awesome video! I enjoyed hearing your perspective on Ramona Flowers. Not sure if you've heard of the show Crazy Ex Girlfriend, but it has one of the best official representations of BPD I've seen in media. I don't hear it talked about a lot on TH-cam, but it's one of my favorite shows and I definitely recommend if you're interested in watching or even making more video essays on the topic!

I’ve heard lots of good things about crazy ex girlfriend, especially from people with bpd! I was actually considering mentioning it in this video, but seeing as I’ve never actually took the time to sit down and watch it for myself I decided against it.
I’ll definitely have to check it out once I get the chance! Thanks for the recommendation ❤

I still can’t think of a single MPDG character that seems like a BPD girl
Maybe BPD Individuals seem themselves in the see themselves in this character (resignation induced projection) by the male writers writing the MPDG aren’t seeing the “MPDG” in BPD girls. Exaggerated characteristics really seems like made for tv stuff to have forced conflict and drama like they do with any character who is used as a conflict vehicle regardless of their trope
So yeah I agree with the closing arguments 100%. It’s good it’s resonating even if it was never intended to 😊
