I was raised in a conservative household. My Grandmother and Grandfather instilled in me the conservative way of life. They were both born in the 1890's, went through the depression, both world wars, so KNEW what the results would be if donkeys got the upper hand! They say elephants never forget and these two never let ME forget what the world was like before I came along. And you know...THEY WERE RIGHT!

I have been a conservative since the day I came out of the womb. When I was a sixth grader, I was a patrol for a first grade classroom, as were a lot of my classmates, for all of the grades. At the end of the year, the patrols were rewarded with a half day of school, and were taken to the park for a patrol picnic. A thank you, for sacrificing their lunch hours, and helping out the school and the teachers. When I found out that on that day of the patrol picnic, that all of my classmates, who were not patrols weren’t doing class work in the afternoon either, but playing games like 7-Up, etc., I was not a happy camper. I actually went to my teacher and complained, now don’t get me wrong, I wasn’t the only one that thought it wasn’t fair, I just happen to be the loudmouth and the speaker of the group. Well, my sixth grade teacher reamed me out in front of everyone asking me what was wrong with me. I wish I knew then what I know now, I would’ve just said, hi all, Republican, I worked hard for this, the rest of those kids rested on their laurels and don’t deserve to be rewarded for not stepping up and taking on a challenge and sacrificing their lunch hour. sounds so silly now, but I’m glad I spoke up! I need to re-claim my voice as a conservative American.

My poor parents grew up in Wva. They were strong Democrats in her eighty's we talked alot. She couldn't understand why thier actions didn't match up to what they said. Her strong Christian values changed her to a Republican. If she was still alive today. Her heart would be broken for how the US has changed. All of her brothers my uncle's were in wars and made sacrifices.

It really isn't age, it is success. Not huge success, a billionaire that made all his money in his first venture is usually still liberal. But success teaches you what works and what doesn't. So many successes make you more and more conservative. Which is why you still have these old teachers and politicians who are liberal, they've never tasted success in the real world. They have experience complaining about oppression, but that doesn't really lead to much.
And fighting. If you have to struggle with/against something, and come out of it..

before you spent 400/month for stuff + ~10%tax or 440/month, you get a government check for $2000, now you pay 800/month for the same stuff +~10% tax or 880/month. The government is getting more back from you in taxes until time ends. In just over a year they got all that money back assuming you dont work If you work there is another 25% they take for income tax.

I know this is off topic, but none of the main stream media has mentioned anything about the St Lawrence Seaway being shut down because the workers are on strike for a couple of days now. With this and the Mississippi River being low transportation to a large part of the central US and Canada has been slowed down.

This is something as old as time most likely. When you're young it's natural to kick up your heels, raise hell, and question EVERYTHING under the sun. But as time goes by and you live and learn you find out there's very good reasons for things being as they are and society eveolving the way it did, one of which is human nature which never changes.

I'm 57 and I can honestly say I only pee before I go to bed and I'm good until the morning. I'm probably going to jinx myself for saying I take no meds and exercise on a irregular basis. I don't drink soda, eat fast food, and drink only on certain occasions. My only vice is the sweet maryjane...yes I'm a responsible toking conservative! Go figure😅
