+JustSome Pear When I hear Jed Madela do upper belts here in the Philippines on Live TV I always thought he was doing something like an F5 or smth. It turned out to be a D5 only.
+Vladimir Pereira I just like the low notes, when I (tenor) sing a G2 is sounds lower than a bass-baritone singing a G2. And when a baritone sings a C5 it sounds higher than me singing a C5.
@@laeronym5884 Not only did he sing it glissando but he also had a closed vowel and it's a pretty light production... you can hear him passing seamlessly through his passagio during the glissando... Excellent technique....
It should be noted that Jonah Nilsson's literally sounded effortless. David Phelps has incredible weight in his voice there, so his might be my favorite.
Try_Lang of course. Adam Lambert is the master. He has incredible light mix. Did you notice how long he holds it and then how he transitions? All these others just hit it once or twice in sequence and then quickly let go. The other one who's good here is Ledet & Perry & Bolton. Phelps also quite clean. Grassi is clean head voice, unfortunately I can't stand his tone. Needles in the ears. Mcknight painfully pitchy as is Jordan, who has no melody at all, he shouts nicely.
I feel so bad, I can belt powerful high notes using my mixed voice, but they don't sound as clear and melodic as the those singer's. Why is my mixed voice so shrilling and sharp?
@@willieirsm Yeah. That solved my problem. My mixed voice is now chestier and healthier. It was all a matter of focusing the tension on the right spots and tongue position.
@@aragod10 Wow F5 belts for a male that’s really difficult. . What type of tenor of you don’t mind asking I’m think you must be leggerio tenor with that
Jonah Nilsson is the only male singer I've ever heard hit a G6 perfectly multiple times in a song. See Dirty Loops Over The Horizon video. I'd be interested in hearing if anyone else has achieved that.
Most of them are singing it in mixed voice, and for those who aren’t, they’re using their head/falsetto. The ones who sound like they’re singing the D5 in “full voice” just add more weight to the sound, which takes skill and practice in order to properly do
My top 10: 1. Jed Madela (0:28) 2. Moon Myungji (3:42) 3. Alex Newell (1:15) 4. Jeffrey Lewis (4:50) 5. Michael Jackson (7:54) 6. David Phelps (8:57) 7. Avery Wilson (5:20) 8. Brian McKnight (7:38) 9. Michael Bolton (6:19) 10. Clark Beckham (5:05)
Adam Lambert is AMAZING. Adam really has an unusual vocal skill and technique. One of Adam's strengths is that he can mix across his range perfectly. His voice is fuller and richer in the High notes. Most male singers, such as Dimash, use head voice and falsetto more on the higher notes, and this makes their voice thinner and less dense. Besides, nobody can do Riffs and overdrive like Adam.
Alex Newell, but he`s got an abnormality. So Bruno Mars,Avery Wilson, Lee Hyuk and Jeffrey Lewis. The rest are using either mixed or screaming voices. P.S. Stevie Wonder`s D5 is super easy.
David Phelps can hit the best chest D5 on the face of the earth. He does it live in the song WHERE THE RIVER FLOWS. Just after 2 minutes into the song.
I love Mitch. He has an amazing voice! But I think that in these types of video he is very overrated by people on the comments. There are many of male singers here who did the D5 better than him. Avery Wilson, David Phelps, Renato Vianna, Brian McKnight... Without counting that Mitch sang with head voice, not full voice/mix voice!
I was singing a C5 in the car and then tried a D5 from a song, and had no idea I can even go Up that high. I went up to D5#, and haven't tried higher yet. I'm a male in his 20's :-)
The one and only Adam Lambert. He doesnt just hit the heights. They are full and delicious. But just one better than anyone else ever . The King. Michael Jackson!

Can't believe you rank Bruno's so low. Also though he a different style of music, M. Shadows has some epic D5's all throughout the City of Evil album and some on Waking the Fallen. Live in not sure
Ah, the money/power note for a lot of male singers. While I can (on good days) reach even higher belts, D5 always feels good and like an accomplishment to reach. I’m a baritone, so it doesn’t sound as good as some of these guys, but it’s still fun.

My belting range where I live is between f4 to d5. My mixing is range is c5 to A#5 but tend to hit b5s on accident lol. I'm trying to achieve c6 in mixing and head voice but it's sooo hard😭. I'm a high lyric tenor. Any tips?

Hey you can also mention Arijit Singh here . Asia's most followed artist and globally 8th . His control on low as well high notes (he also hit D5 ,A#4, B4 as well) is unbelievable. He is the king of soulful voice. Every one who is reading this please check him .He can sing any genre song. He is so versatile.

Wow a D5 belt seems so high if it's coming from a male singer
i mean compared to female singers
yeah some female singers can't even easily reach that xd

Brian McKnight's riff at 7:44 😍😍😍 I'd like to see Natalie Weiss break that down lol
9:05 - David Phelps's note was soooo ease. It didn't even "sound" like a D5... Very easy for him! Damn haha
he did a Gliss making it easier. Not saying he is bad or anything. BUT the gliss does make it easier.
And hit it with CLOSE VOWEL

Great video as usual. By the way, David Phelps has an epic E5 in "The Old Rugged Cross Made the Difference."
Live ? In which performance ? :)
+urowskiilive The version on GaitherVevo, it's in harmony with a B4 from Guy Penrod

I guess it's in this somewhere ^^' (He come in at 2:08 or something like that)
Andrew Carroll What was the song phelps sang in the video called?
David Phelps, Jackie Wilson, Brian Mcknight, Jeffrey Lewis and Lee Hyuk are the best, in my opinion.
Oh. And Avery Wilson is great too.
what about adam
SingingFreak I'm not a big fan of his belts, his belts are nearly always "edge - belts".
He's still great though.
urowskiilive oh well :)
What about Mitch Grassi?
Mitch Grassi 😍 you're queen 😍✋🏻
Steve Perry hits an amazing d5 in "after the fall"
I really love Bruno Mars' high notes
Jackie and David Phelps
Brian Mcknight's melisma is so good!
The Clearest D5 Goes To ADAM LAMBERT
Wouldn't call it clear, it's strained
It's overdriven, and because of so the pitch falters a bit.

Pastel Prince yes Adam has overdrive, which is extremely rare & one of his aces, but I don't think the pitch suffers here.
