You noticed that :), What happened was, the originally playthrough of this level which was around 30 minutes accidentally got deleted from my computer. I had to loadup a previous save file and play all the way back to this location for this ep.
The meteorite gun is good, but if you bough the "Rhyno II in the previous game "Ratchet And Clank" you get the Ryno II for FREE from the vendor on the Desert Planet Barlow: Vukovar Canyon. That gun is the best gun to use on the "Beast Mode" Abominable Snowmen.
In order to get the trophy for the desert crystals and the tundra moonstones, you definitely want to you the rhyno 2. It makes everyone so much easier.
And about the whole gems and stones being worth alot try getting up to a 12 bolt multiplayer then sell them in challenge mode that'd make you a millionaire
That guy refers at the beginning of the game he wants crystals, I think is an adult joke for crystal aka meth and at the end of the game he wants moonstones which is similar to moonrocks as a reference to weed.. U know when u get high u want some weed to calm u down.. Please if my theory make sense, make a comment bellow..

The planet grelbin sound much like veldin because the two words sound alike and also being ratchet's and angela's home planets between two galaxies
This is the best Ratchet game and one of my favourite games on PS2!

it seems like you need better armor. maybe you should complete all the arena challenges?
there is a glitch where you can't get hitand lose nanotech and when you battle the hydras it takes one hit to kill them
