@@panorama_mastering I will add that Bob Katz in Mastering Audio refers to them interchangeably, too. But they are, if we're being precise, different things.
Bouncing between the before and after a few times helped me hear the changes! As someone wrapping my head around all this, your examples sound fuller without a doubt but by adding this in parallel that would also mean a change in level correct? I'm just wondering how much of that affects my perception when it comes to hearing the changes 😅 Your videos have been a fountain of information, thank you!
Thanks for watching mate! Glad to hear it's helping; in overall level that upward compression is adding at most 0.5 of LUFS, that would affect your perception somewhat; I don't do video's like this anymore; I always make sure now to accurately level match each and every example and loop them back-to-back for easy following;
actuating doing my final uni project on micro dynamics and upward compression, found this really useful for sparking ideas.thank you
Glad it was helpful!
Great content - this was extremely informative and very well explained. Love your approach!
Thanks mate!
this is the single only plugin im struggling to use because of its complexity
definitely have to take some time to really read into it
I like when you just talk to us straight up like this.
Thanks mate!
If you're slamming this equally whats the value in the multiband vs broadband?
thank you .
You are welcome!
How do you think about standard upwards compression compared with parallel downward compression?
I use the terms synonymously with one another;

Woah.
Enjoy ! Thanks for watching!
Why is Dynone better than FF Pro MB?
DynOne has mastering quality output and effects (like band compensation), pro mb is better for taming specific dynamic ranges
