I came to say exactly the same! I’ve only just discovered you, and I love how inventive you are. I’m looking forward to browsing through your previous videos. Thanks so much for your generosity too, and the absolutely clear descriptions of your processes. x
Honestly Shawna you have access to some kind of magnified creativity source that is all your own -- *no* *one* comes up with more absolutely stunning techniques for making art -- I don't know how you do it but I'm definitely going to keep watching what you come up with ❤
It's shocking how you continually make such beautiful and interesting prints with such simple tools and techniques. It fills me with confidence that even an untalented blockhead like myself can give it a whorl!
I am sure you underestimate yourself!! Yes - the gel plate allows so much freedom to play that it really inspires creativity. I just love it! And thank you so much 😊
I am in awe of your creativity! I get so inspired every time I watch your videos. You have such great ideas and I'm learning so much from you. Thanks so much for sharing your amazing ideas and discoveries and please keep them coming!
This IS a brilliantly crafty & informative video! I so enjoyed watching it & luv how thrifty & low budget the supplies are to be able to make such lovey backgrounds. I really like tags & the Batik styles you created are exceptionally attractive to me.
Ingenious!!! Now I don't have to spend a fortune on stencils from Joggles. Thanks. You've got some really interesting ideas. I'm really enjoying your channel.
You are amazing! I just recently came across your channel and have been watching your videos. You are so talented and inspiring! Thank you for sharing! ❤
what an ingenious way to use the plate as a tool! those look gorgeous! The ghost/cleanup prints are also really good! I've never sen anyone apply matte medium like that either. so fast for things like this. really great new ideas for ways to use the gel plate. I don't have embossing folders but i wonder if some paper towel patterns would work the same way...... it scares me to see you using the heat tool on your gel plate, i've heard horror stories about them melting. Seems like you're not having any issues, so maybe you have a cool enough setting. Thank you for sharing again!!
Hi there! The paper towel pattern idea is intriguing!! I wonder if they would be too thick but I know the patterns transfer on top of acrylic hmmm - I will have to try that :) Honestly, I do not have a cool setting on my heat tool. It is the normal setting and I've used heat for 3+ years on these plates and never had an issue. I use a Ranger heating tool though - it disperses heat pretty well so the heat isn't focused on one area. Thank you for watching ❤️
Hello! I have never actually made paper beads but I have seen it done and I don't know why you couldn't use the papers to make beads. You just want to choose the right thickness of paper to print on - Super thick cardstock may not roll as easily. Thank you for watching! ❤️
So cool! How do you come up with this? I liked the black&blue, because of the interesting patterns like water drops and the mixed “waves”. But the crinkled tissue also has amazing effects. They are all very beautiful… difficult to choose! Thanks for sharing👍
Thank you so much! I play around and experiment a lot. My sons were both sick and I bought a case of Kleenex and, because it was there, I started messing around with it. I'm always wondering "what if." That's why I love the gel plate because you can play around and make a mess over and over again. And sometimes you get something super cool 😄
Hi there! I'm sorry I meant to add those to the description but I got them on Amazon. They are not brads though - they are jusr adhesive Hole Reinforcers that I colorized with the alcohol ink. So "hole reinforcement stickers" is what you can search on Amazon to find them (sorry I can't put a link here) and you want the ones with 0.25" holes. Thank you!!
Wow! I had no idea they made 8.5x11 embossing folders. Your ideas blow my mind...I love watching your magic with the gel plates. You don't mess around either...again I had no idea you could use isopropyl or gesso, or was it matt medium? (Yeah either or, didn't no😅) I must come out from under my rock more often.😂😂 Thank you for sharing your talent with the YT world!
You are so welcome! I wish there were more large embossing folders out there, not a lot of people make them. And, it was matte medium but Ive used gesso before too haha Thank you for watching!
Do you paint the back of the tags that you put straight onto the wet tissue to cover the bleed through so you can write on it? I really want to try these techniques. Just brilliant! Thankyou ❤
Hi there! No I don't really do that as I don't typically use them in that way. I normally work on the front. I will use the tags as backgrounds and decorate them further for use in an art or junk journal. Painting the back should work though as long as your paint is opaque and will cover the alcohol ink staining. You could paint the back easily the way I added the matte gel medium in the video - using the plate. Thank you so much! :)
Hi there! The alcohol ink can stain the gel plate - that is why mine look so dark and are not clear anymore. Yellows stain the most for whatever reason. But, this doesn't harm the plate - it is still perfectly usable! Thanks for watching 😊
Hello! Alcohol ink is not lightfast so it will fade if exposed to sunlight regularly. (Not sure how quickly this will happen though). If the works are kept in a journal or otherwise put away, it shouldn't fade too much at all.
Hi there! I mostly treat them as backgrounds and use them in my art journal. I will work on top of the tag, add a focal point, more colors, sentiments etc. and then staple or adhere it into my journal. You could also use tags as additions in junk journals - when there are pockets or tuck spots, tags go great in there. ❤️
You're so creative. This is the second video I've watched of yours and you've done two things I've never seen anyone else do. 👏
Thank you so much! That is so cool to hear ❤️

Wow, how fabulous. I live the black and light blue tags the most. 😊
It's shocking how you continually make such beautiful and interesting prints with such simple tools and techniques. It fills me with confidence that even an untalented blockhead like myself can give it a whorl!

You are amazing!
Great video, I just found you and am interested in your other videos.
Brilliant ❤
So beautiful- what kind of card stock are you working with for it to come thru on both sides?
Really cool. Wondering if u could make paper bead with them. Thanks for sharing ❤

How long before alcohol ink fades?

haha...Hey lady! ❤️
Aw
What can you use these for, tags, what else ? Thanks
