I’ve been using the Hitch Rider Rack. One 559 eCat on the bottom and one regular 559 on top. By using the rack we can easily have luggage inside when we travel.
As a kayaker who straps boats to the roof of his vehicle quite often, any straps that go through a door frame and past the weather seal will wick water into the car if it rains. A little bit won't hurt anything unless it contacts electronics, but can make for a miserable trip if it is dripping on you.
Nice video. Where can one purchase those roof holders you demonstrated? I’ve never seen them. I currently transport my two trikes in a “ combo method” . I have a Catrike folding 559 and a 700. I slide one in the rear of my Toyota Highlander and the second on my Hitchrider rack. The stacked double carrier is difficult as it requires a lot of lifting to get the second trike up that high and puts a lot of weight on the rack/hitch. Folding the 559 is a dirty pain in the a… to do repeatedly and the 700 sits much lower so it slides into the rear hatch with the seats down and I place the unfolded 559 on my Hitchrider. Getting trikes on the roof of a large suv is no easy accomplishment.
We transport 2 trikes with a car. One is strapped to the roof with ratchet straps running through the car and through the trunk. The other trike is on our new Hitchrider rack. Both trikes are electric.
Yes, we are waiting to see if somebody takes over their company. But with electric trikes becoming so popular most people are going to a fold down rack so they don’t have to lift it so high.
I've been using a SeaSucker suction cup system on my roof for the last year and a half with no complaints. Easy to use and very secure.
🎉
Another great video. Thank you.
The new kid in the block here!😊. We offer option for self-loading two trike plus a standard bike if needed ✌️

I like that rack allot. The guy that makes it is here in California. :)

Thanks for the insight, that's good to know 👍
Good tip, Mickey thanks a lot.

The link for that product is in the description :)
@@LaidBackCycles thanks for the reference. It looks like a difficult task to get a trike on the roof of a tall SUV, though.
Where did you get those roof wheel holders
Get them here www.terratrike.com/product/universal-trike-carrier/
Advice if you can give it: I would like to be able to port Lectric e-trikes with my car. Ideas? [2020 Subaru Outback]
(Whoops) TWO of them....
Hi David, check out www.hitchrider.com/2-trike-rack.htm

According to Alpaca website they are retiring and will have no new inventory once whatever they have is gone.
