Barry and Caitlin would've been the perfect relationship. West-Allen fans need to understand that the level of chemistry between Iris and Barry is nothing compared to Barry and Caitlin. Caitlin was the first he saw when he woke from his coma, Caitlin was the one who sat and watched Dr Wells(Thawne's) Will with barry, Caitlin was the one who wanted to and actually helped Cisco bring barry back from the speed force, Caitlin was there to help him through all his hardships, Hell Caitlin telling Barry that she believes in him gave Barry more then enough courage to push through and win battles, etc. And Barry was the one who brought Caitlin back after ronnie's death, Barry was the only one who could get through to Caitlin during Season 3, and throughout the show Barry and Caitlin were more then willing to die for each other. Iris on the other hand only loved Barry for the flash. The Moment Barry revealed he was the Flash all Iris did was make it about her and Barry and not the team. Even Frost cared for Barry more then Iris did. Back in Season 5 Cicada getting ready to kill barry was what brought Frost out from her Dormant state. West-Allen fans can cry as much as they want. But west-allen will never reach the Amount of Trust, Love, care, friendship, and Chemistry that Snowbarry had. Caitlin was willing to and almost died for Barry a lot more times then Iris was just as Barry was willing to and almost died for Caitlin more then he did for Iris. Snowbarry was overall the better ship. Edit: Caitlin and Barry had more chemistry, Love, care, and friendship in just Season 1 Episode 12 then Barry and iris had in all 9 seasons of the Flash + and extra episodes from Crossovers
Times like this makes me wish we Had like a show like my adventures with superman (which is a very good show) how Clark and lois's relationship was Properly built up in a way there Heck I'm all for a 2D animated show about the flash in his early days fighting bad guys and that iteration falls for a Caitlin snow and that version something along those lines
Apparently SB was supposed to be endgame but grant wanted it to be comic accurate even when it doesn’t make sense with the character arc Barry and iris being adopted siblings but grant ended up complaining basically in an interview one of them he talked about WA being forced and the other saying he felt pushed and I think he started to regret it

I don't think he ever actually wanted WA; he was just forced to comply by the hacks who wouldn't let the dead weight go.
