South Sudan's President and vice president disagree on elections timing

  • South Sudan President Salva Kiir insists elections should be held in 2024 as scheduled in a peace deal. However, Vice President Riek Machar, who is also the leader of the largest opposition group, says the current security situation in the country means the parties will not be ready for elections next year.

      The candidates are not two. Those are the two biggest parties with big army's who are loyal to them. So the other candidates can't show up
