Ohh shit, I’m so sorry to see this. I’ve been following your A-cat vids for a while now, couldn’t imagine that something like this could happen. Is this salvageable?
Thank you for following my A-videos. This incident happened 7 years ago, I kept the video and didn't post it on YT in case I ever sold the boat. However, I mentioned what occurred to a friend and I decided to share it to help viewers check the clevis pins. The A-Cat was repaired.
@@MatthewBotfield Ohh okay then, I'm glad that it was possible to repair. Makes me a bit more comfortable in case something similar happens to my A-cat haha... Fair winds!
Ouch. I feel for you. I slipped and fell onto the inside of one hull after a capsize and basically wrote of my boat such was the damage 😢

@@MatthewBotfieldyou would sell the boat without mentioning this?
Looks like hull failure to me
When the shroud failed the falling mast leveraged the forestay that connects to the 2 hulls. Rooted it!
Thats a tough break, that can happen to any cat, I’ve seen crumpled poly hulls like that. Somethings gotta give with a full sheet
Those stay points are engineered and built to withstand and upward tension load, NOT a lateral load.
