Sam @ 24:40: "I think she just thinks in colors." Billie has synesthesia (even made a museum exhibit that explores this), the definition of which is: "Synesthesia is a neurological condition that causes the brain to process data in the form of several senses at once. I didn't know this about her. I'll have to look more into how she experiences it. My sister has synesthesia and hears color. (instead of hearing sounds and seeing color, which is a much more common form, especially among musicians)

mine kinda tried too, my mom wouldn't quit drinking so i could take lessons in anything though. so i got tap shoes and tapped around my garage until i realized no classes were coming. got a guitar and a music book, and after a year of telling them i couldn't read it my mom got mad when she found it in the bottom of my closet. well where'd you think it would end up we lived by a dance studio with a gymnastics gym across the street from that, and a music store attached to our grocery store did lessons so we were actually pretty well set up with options. my parents had a REALLY active kid. and then they kept that kid out of all sports, all extracurriculars, and wondered why the grades went from As to Ds and i barely managed to graduate. if i have kids, i don't want to try to make life's struggles disappear for them. but it hasn't made my fiance homeless or ruined his life to pay a couple hundred $$ per year so his daughter has activities. my mom always said, "you won't go and i'm not paying all that money for nothing." but she never tried letting me go to anything. this girl is like the biggest potato in the world, if you watch her at home you wouldn't guess how much stuff she's in at school. but she WANTS to do that stuff, and i tried explaining the same thing. i'm 2x this kid's age and i still get it, idgaf. you don't want to put dishes away. at any age, tbh. but a sport you're good at? and you have people who like you there and there's no dishes and there might be snacks? school activities were the best :'( i was such an outcast and i still had fun when i did field trips and the few things i actually got to show up for so i think high school might've actually been at least 80% less terrible if i'd been allowed to do things. like my mom just wanted me to follow her around silently all day gtfo
@@Ocelot80524 I'm really sorry to hear that they wouldn't let you do those things. My son played a video game he found online several years ago, with the main point of the game being able to insert and immerse yourself into a digital persona mimicking (as much as possible) what perception is like for someone living with synesthesia as their norm. He said the game was crazy & fckd with his head, but he loved it and it changed his approach & perspective regarding a lot of everyday things. I need to call him and get the name of it. If it’s still out there, I’ll share the link here for sure!
Billie is living in a moment and is at an age where her singing is entirely a reaction of how she feels. You nailed it when you said she doesn’t for a moment think about technique. As she gets older, lives a bit and sees more of the world, her feelings towards singing will inevitably change. Hopefully she explores her capabilities sooner rather than later though....Oh and James killed it AGAIN.
I felt that, too. I don't have supportive parents and I'm still struggling due to the lack of self-esteem that they gave me. It took me 29 years to finally take the leap and try for something I (!) wanted. I can only imagine what it is like having parents like Billie. And it hurts.
Sam, you're a sweet cinnamon bun. When you got emotional, I started crying. You're such a kind person and you just generally want everyone to be their best and I appreciate you.
I’m not a singer, I’m an ESL teacher and in a very strange way I find this specific video helpful with jaw movements and sounds we make. I sometimes struggle with teaching pronunciation to different foreign students. I can’t explain how exactly, but Sam’s explanation about jaw movements, balance of air and muscles made so much sense now I wanna sit down and write down a new lesson plan based on the diversity of people’s jaw movements! I don’t think I’m making sense, but this was very inspiring.
It got me emotional when you were talking about how good her parents are for letting her and her brother have a safe space to make music and do something they enjoyed, I feel like when I was young I LOVED dancing, singing, acting, all kinds of entertaining stuff but my parents always discouraged me from doing it cuz it was “annoying”, or loud, or too expensive, or a waste of time. I feel like if I had the freedom and support to do what I love I wouldn’t be here now that I’m almost 23 and just now trying to figure out what I wanna do w my life and what I’m good at.
23, was a natural singer and dancer, my mum wanted me to get an office job from day one. Couldn't even finish school with the anxiety and how much it didn't work for me. If I ever have a kid I will make sure their passions are practiced
Growing up poor I have always had the issue of not being allowed a hobby if i couldn't make it somehow lucrative. Like. If you're not going to pursue a career in it don't do it at all kinda mentality Messes you up
Oh I felt that I love singing and acting and broadway and dancing too but not as much as those three especially singing and I’m a junior and I keep telling my mom I want to get professional singing lessons and she says nah and wants me to have an office job which I personally find boring and I sometimes feel like a burden because idk if I’m being delusional or if I’m asking too much for just loving to sing it rlly sucks especially when u barely like anything else and ur scared of ur future
charcs_7 go for what you love, chase your dreams and don’t forget them! It’s better to do what you love in life instead of going through life doing a job you hate and being miserable. Never be afraid to try! You got this ! 😀❤️
I got emotional too because I went through the same thing. To this day I'm terrified of singing in front of other people because of my mother. And I got emotional because it seemed like Sam might know what not having supportive parents. It's not hard to stifle art and creativity in a kid. And it's so beautiful when you see parents take that into consideration.
I wish they would just bring you along in the backseat of all the carpool karaoke videos and give you control of the aux so you can pause songs and critique what they’re doing. Like Mariah’s in the front seat and you pause the song and said “I’d like to know if you can still hit that note. I suspect vocal damage. And we can barely hear you. Do it again louder Mariah” andddd push play
Biggest pet peeve with vocal "analysis" on YT. Everything is either "good" or "bad" with zero follow up. Most of them don't know what they're talking about. Sam does.
When you were watching the part where Billie is talking about her childhood and parents, all I could do was nod emphatically. She has never had to be anything but herself and her spirit was never crushed by the adults in her life, and it really shows. Just amazing what that kind of support can allow someone so young (and obviously talented) to accomplish.
I wish I had that growing up and can definitely see what you mean. Supporting your kids’ dreams instead of forcing them into things that they dont want to do only leads to depression and anxiety

Aww Sam, I've never seen you get emotional before, it was honestly so pure and precious. I wanted to give you a hug!!! Billie really is great ^_^ I enjoy her more now after this video. ♥
I love this video so much (the vibe and warmth in it especially) and it was lovely to hear your thoughts on it! I think she will go very far, she seems to have a good head on her shoulders and great support team. And also she is insanely hardworking and has many really creative ideas!
@frankie4you2013 You obviously do not follow her career closely enough or have not watched the original video that is being analyzed here - her EP and album were recorded by her and her brother in the bedroom shown in the interview. I am by no means her greatest fan or an expert in any way but I do appreciate people working hard on something they enjoy doing which is more than I can say for you.
Seriously Sam, serious shout out to Billie and her brother's parents... Their parents gave up having a bedroom of their own when they had a second child. They put their kid's needs ahead of their own, and it shows.
i really love how you look like you really, really care for her, and wante her to be super good in what she does, she literally is like my favorite singer, and i enjoy a lot watching your videos reacting and analizing her songs.
This is, by far, my favorite review of yours...I'm a psychotherapist and you're assessment of her experience (and the experience of young celebrities) was spot on...well done :) I, so, enjoy your videos!!
You're best reaction yet - on a professional-technical level, but especially on the emotional level as well! Your reaction to her singing, her emotions and her singing technique, her potential (as a singer / songwriter), her family / support system - and also to James Cordon (I am still waiting for a Sam reaction only to James....) And to make one thing clear: I am not the huge Billie Eilish fan (but I have come to appreciate her more and more and can really relate to everything you say about her!) - and the second thing: I thought you made my year with you reacting to Pearl Jam / Eddie Vedder! But hey, we have 2020 now ;-)
Your tearful moment makes me think that you, yourself, have a very supportive family and you were reflecting on that. I hope I'm accurate. The way you critique singers is just so eloquent and respectful. I love it!
Sam thank you so much for that section about writing music. I've struggled for so long getting started because I have so many emotions and ideas I want to voice and no technique to trust, so I never finish writing any songs. And hearing you voice those ideas so clearly made it click for me. I'm going to start writing some basic ass songs so I can trust myself and let the songs I care about flow. So I can just have fun with it like I used to and not worry about getting it 'right.' Thank you.
I love how she was just "allowed" to keep making music by her parents. She wasn't made to feel guilty, she wasn't embarrassed by her parents, she wasn't scolded. Was just allowed free reign to explore and keep trying and enjoying and growing as an artist and as a person. I've never heard of that before, even among other kids whose parents encouraged their music careers. Certainly, her family is the exact opposite of mine where my mom couldn't scold me and shut me down fast enough when I play a single note on the keyboard.
Why I love Billie on another level: I sang before I walked when my mom would sing to me. I sang constantly and played with every instrument I could get my hands on. I am a born singer. It just is what it is. However, I was shut down by several people at 8 years old and only sang quietly and secretly. It want because I couldn’t sing and sing well. It was that one person wanted quiet around him at all times and another few people who made fun of the faces I unknowingly pulled while singing. 🤷🏻♀️ I’m living vicariously through Billie & that makes me feel really good. Lol I’m 46 now and singing fully unabashed again... with COPD (dr says that singing could very well save my lungs from further damage and allow me a much longer life). Billie is such a refreshing example of personal art from deep within one’s being & art in general while remaining authentic. I can’t listen to any of her stuff without feeling compelled to keep fighting; fighting to gently get my full voice back, and fighting to save my life. I love her musical soul for that (and many other artists!). Damn that girl is amazing!!! Exactly what I needed at this point in my life. People often say they’ll go down swingin’. I, for one, will be going down singin’. 🤘🏻🥰
Love that you want to push her to do more. Feels like you truly want to coach her because you’re excited for her and what she could do. Great reaction, fun to watch!
I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure Billie has said she hates when vocal coaches/teachers explain her singing techniques and when they try to give tips so she could improve. Edit: I found this: th-cam.com/video/_K9MVaK0rNQ/w-d-xo.html. Im just assuming she hates vocal coaches/teachers, but that's what i get from this.
@@user-gm6qp7kh2s I knew of that, I meant it in relation to what he said about her family and so on. It's true that there are a lot of vocal coaches that do reactions-videos _just_ for the clicks. Obviously Sam Johnson also wants his video to be seen and make money (duh), but he really adds a lot of informative things and you can feel, that he's passionate about what he's talking about. That's what made me think, she would maybe react differently to this specific voice teacher :)
I've come to really appreciate Billie as an artist. Her lyrics and aesthetic values are top shelf and she makes it readily apparent that the "limitations" apparent in her songs are a matter of choice, as you mentioned. A good example of why the idea of "good music is dead" being a supremely flawed concept; the best songs of previous generations are those who stood the test of time. We forget the ones who were awful at the time, and it's nice to have a reminder that the same gems exist in this generation too.
As always, awesome analysis. And I think you’re so right: Billie’s parents did good. I’m about to become a parent, and I can only hope to provide such a supportive environment for my kid’s interests. Beautiful. I teared up a little when she and you talked about that.
You’re one of the best “voice coach reacts” and I’ve watched a lot. I appreciate how you go in depth about how they make their vocals do certain things and sound a certain way. I’ve always loved singing and find music interesting and you help me understand how things work, which is great. It also helps that I’m a huge fan of James and Billie 🤩☺️ Subscribed!
Loved your commentary. My daughter is wanting to get more serious about singing and I appreciate finding people like you who put out quality content like this.
You will see much and more variety from Billie. She is an amazing artist and she has only just begun. She sings from her soul. Looking forward to more of her and Finneas’ art.
Even though you define yourself as a selfish guy in a part of the video, your words are always generous and carefully conceived, the Billie’s familiar support is vital to develop her style but also her life’s accomplishments, thanks for your channel and forgive me in advance for my bad english but I'm not Bilingual at all, however, I hope you to understand exactly what I mean through my comment
I just don’t understand why people think everyone has to belt when they sing. Singing is like art, it’s all different but it’s still art. She has a beautiful voice, just the way it is. She was also in a choir as a young kid, so she’s had proper voice training. You don’t have to sound like everyone else to be classified as a great singer. To me, it’s just what’s pleasing to the ear.
I agree, people want to say that to be a good singer you have to domain all areas of singing and write songs with all of them to show off, no, if she wants to practice she can do it alone, she doesn't need to release an album with a different tone or voice to prove that she can do something
M a l u z i n h a h THIS! All of this! I get so frustrated with the policing of art. Music is art. Thank GOD not everyone’s art looks or sounds the same. And the “pretty voice” comments are so SO condescending. Her voice is emotional. It’s not “pretty”. It’s raw and emotional and vulnerable.
Shout out to their parents!! Seriously. I just barely watched an interview Phineas did with Zach Sang and I have SO much respect for them & their family dynamic. They were both home schooled and their parents moved their bed to the living room so they could use Phineas' to record & Billie could have her own room. I had the chills the whole time she was talking about her family. She seems so chill and humble. So grateful for them. It's funny hearing how this song was made, but you can tell the emotion of it being the catalyst for both of them, and I feel that she feels that. Definitely recommend watching that interview, if you haven't yet. He explains the ways they essentially are the perfect duo and family here to take over the industry. (My words, not theirs, of course.) I agree with you...reacting. acting. Empathy seems like it would be very beneficial to possess for acting. GO JAMES HARMONIZING KING!
I’ve had such a hard time describing to people why I love Billie so much, outside of liking her music, and I think you really nailed the idea. She just gets so into every song, it’s contagious. A song to her always involves what emotion she wants to convey. I am so excited to where the future will take her. And great video! My favorite one so far!
She's my pop Alice Cooper. There's such a wonderful theatrical quality to her performances. Music can get a bit samey for my tastes, but she's always delivers a good performance.
Kat Burns And if there’s some that he doesn’t have memorized he at least still have the tone down and enthusiasm to sing it through the end! I seriously respect him for that

This is one of my favorite commentaries that you've done. I didn't really know Billie's music at all, I know her look and I watched her on SNL. But I did watch the carpool karaoke and I loved her singing in the first song. I think it's go interesting how she can change her sound effortlessly and I really can't wait to hear her music and sound evolve.
I have to say this Carpool episode and your commentary have completely changed my mind about her. All I had heard of her was maybe two songs and I completely dismissed it. I admit I was wrong.
You’re so authentic in your reactions. I can tell you just adore Billie (and James) and it’s so refreshing. Your critiques are always kind, but not falsely kind.
Damn it Sam!! You made me cry! For real I'm going to implement that rule in my house. If you're doing music, even "screwing around" you don't have to go to bed.
Hi Sam. Came across a reaction you did some time ago (sorry can't remember which), and really loved the way you break it all down to easily understand. And now finding this after seeing Billie's Carpool last week. You are a wonderful human being.Yes, you bought a tear to my eye during that moment. I could be wrong, but I hope you receive that same support. Very knowledgeable at your craft. Love the way you go about it all. Keep up the great work.
I may be alone in this but I think she’s young and doing wildly well so she should keep her other options/sounds in the back pocket until she needs them. Maybe at 25 she can start belting and boost her career again.
@@diandracoleman3679 I've gone to her concert and she went full out on most of her songs, dancing on two twisted ankles at that, this past September. Believe me, she can easily reach those notes and what we usually hear is just her own style, like Sam said.

Sam - your eyes are so bright and happy! Ive just stumbled on this video and you personality is so refreshing. Your sound like you're a pretty cool guy and you know what you're talking about with voice review.
I have to confess is drives me a little crazy when people are like “I wanna see her belt!” As she said herself not everyone has to be shouting to be good at singing and she does belt but it’s not as loud as Adele belting. But listen to “wish you were gay” “the end of the world” or her cover of “bad.” She most definitely belts on each one of those songs. I actually enjoy that she’s not trying to blast us with her voice at 100 decibels like everyone else. She’s far from “one trick”
Sam, It’s amazing how your videos read like love letters to these artists. I find myself with a new appreciation for the artists you dig into, and it makes me appreciate their music so much more!! Thank you!

I so enjoyed your commentary on Billie Eilish and was so glad to hear you give a shout out to the parents! The first time I laid eyes on Billie Eilish was at the AMA's, November, 2019! Yes, this makes me old and late to the party... But all I can say is, Thank Goodness my British shows were not on that night, so I ended up watching the AMA's! I had never seen Billie Eilish before nor seen any of her performances, but with-in the first few milli-moments of her performance of All The Good Girls Go to Hell, I deduced immediately that she was allowed to do ANYTHING and EVERYTHING she EVER wanted to do her ENTIRE life and secondly, with rapid fire, I knew she had a mother and father who loved her beyond measure, for you cannot have that kind of rare talent without it! And, as I have learned later of such, it seems to have been true about her life! So a grand shout-out to the parents and her brother, indeed! Thanks to them for this gift and gem of Billie Eilish! I am hooked and no turning back!
I love that she is not a "Cookie cutter" pop star...Billie and Finneas are their own people...they do things their way...they're going to be legends❤️❤️❤️

if i have kids, i don't want to try to make life's struggles disappear for them. but it hasn't made my fiance homeless or ruined his life to pay a couple hundred $$ per year so his daughter has activities. my mom always said, "you won't go and i'm not paying all that money for nothing." but she never tried letting me go to anything. this girl is like the biggest potato in the world, if you watch her at home you wouldn't guess how much stuff she's in at school. but she WANTS to do that stuff, and i tried explaining the same thing. i'm 2x this kid's age and i still get it, idgaf. you don't want to put dishes away. at any age, tbh. but a sport you're good at? and you have people who like you there and there's no dishes and there might be snacks? school activities were the best :'(
i was such an outcast and i still had fun when i did field trips and the few things i actually got to show up for so i think high school might've actually been at least 80% less terrible if i'd been allowed to do things. like my mom just wanted me to follow her around silently all day gtfo
@@Ocelot80524 I'm really sorry to hear that they wouldn't let you do those things. Yeah, kids won't want to do a lot of stuff if they're told to (who does??), but if they really want something, they have more than enough energy to spend on it!
But I'm glad that it didn't turn into resentment, in the sense that you know you wouldn't wish that on other kids. That's a wonderful attitude to have! :) It seems like you have chosen a great partner, as well 😊
If you don't mind me asking, as well, are you doing any activities now? Like playing an instrument or taking any lessons you want. Even if you weren't allowed to before, it's always good to know that it's never too late to start doing what you want c:
I think subconsciously one of the things that makes her voice appealing is, it's very similar to a lullaby voice a mother might sing to a small baby.
I agree. Her sound is soothing
Completely agree! I love it. 😍
Yes, soft and soothing. I love it!
You nailed it.
It's musical ASMR.
"I think she just thinks in colors." She actually has synesthesia! So cool.
No way thats pretty weirdly cool
To be fair, she has commented on it a bit, but you kind of have to look for it if you really want to see it. 😄😄
Really? Wow, that's amazing and also kind of crazy that Sam made that comment without knowing how factual it is.
He is really smart. How amazingly accurate he is and all of the time! I think he's used it by now.
Loved your thoughts on everything. And the part about her parents made me tear up too lol.
i have literally cried during her interviews talking about that
Yeah that was emotional 😭
same :'(
I felt that, too.
It makes perfect sense to me. And I think if you watch more of his videos it will help even more.
Like. If you're not going to pursue a career in it don't do it at all kinda mentality
Messes you up
Oh I felt that I love singing and acting and broadway and dancing too but not as much as those three especially singing and I’m a junior and I keep telling my mom I want to get professional singing lessons and she says nah and wants me to have an office job which I personally find boring and I sometimes feel like a burden because idk if I’m being delusional or if I’m asking too much for just loving to sing it rlly sucks especially when u barely like anything else and ur scared of ur future
charcs_7 go for what you love, chase your dreams and don’t forget them!
Lmao that sounds miserable
Sam Johnson but entertaining!! For me at least lol
Lmao
But the bestest entertainment for us.
😂😂 that would be entertaining
turns out if sam cries, i cry
Yup. Ditto.
Same..... 😪
Yep, just experienced this too...
23:00. 😭 Someone give him a hug tell him he's amazing.
@@mishmashofash I couldn't agree more. He is amazing. If my son turns out to be anything like him I'll be the proudest mother ever. No joke
I need Sam to follow me around & tell me "ur going to have a bad time" when I'm about to make a bad decision.
Haha me too
Same
Sans can do that too
Girl, same.
one of the few voice teacher reactors who says more than "That's Amazing!"
Biggest pet peeve with vocal "analysis" on YT. Everything is either "good" or "bad" with zero follow up. Most of them don't know what they're talking about. Sam does.
UGHHH yes him and Natalie Weiss
"Because I'm selfish and I want those things!" 😂
Valid.
Ridiculous!
To me he is more an enthusiastic perfectionist
When you were watching the part where Billie is talking about her childhood and parents, all I could do was nod emphatically. She has never had to be anything but herself and her spirit was never crushed by the adults in her life, and it really shows. Just amazing what that kind of support can allow someone so young (and obviously talented) to accomplish.
Most the time it's lots and lots of drugs.
I wish I had that growing up and can definitely see what you mean. Supporting your kids’ dreams instead of forcing them into things that they dont want to do only leads to depression and anxiety
@@ei3554 - Right, like manners and character and principals. Wouldn't want that. Kids are dumb which is why they have parents to teach them not to be dumb. How it should work anyway. Nowadays we've got dumb teaching dumber. Exceptionalism isn't discovered it is cultivated through strict discipline. Most exceptional young people were raised by very strict parents.
Girlie Gamer lol uhhhh who shit in your Cheerios? Just because your parents encourage you to pursue hobbies for the sake of loving them, doesn’t mean you’re gonna do drugs and be a failure??? And just because your parents are strict doesn’t mean you won’t turn to drugs and fail. But go off I guess lmao

@frankie4you2013 and you are an asshole. LOL.
@@KOK-sc8ez they said they raised them with no punishment and no rewards, thought that was pretty cool
i really love how you look like you really, really care for her, and wante her to be super good in what she does, she literally is like my favorite singer, and i enjoy a lot watching your videos reacting and analizing her songs.
“Jaws can have a little tension...as a treat” made me snort
What got me was the way he looked up and kind of laughed at himself as he added the "as a treat" like... Oh the internet.
He’s funny!!
Not that I don't love all of your videos I watch, but this one was kinda special. I really liked it.
This is, by far, my favorite review of yours...I'm a psychotherapist and you're assessment of her experience (and the experience of young celebrities) was spot on...well done :) I, so, enjoy your videos!!
why you doin yourself like that in the thumnail 😫😂
i love him for doing that
Good ass question 😂
LMAO I HAD TO CHECK IT LMAOOOOO
I love that he done that... shows his great sense of humour 😂❤
LMAOOOO
You're best reaction yet - on a professional-technical level, but especially on the emotional level as well! Your reaction to her singing, her emotions and her singing technique, her potential (as a singer / songwriter), her family / support system - and also to James Cordon (I am still waiting for a Sam reaction only to James....)
And to make one thing clear: I am not the huge Billie Eilish fan (but I have come to appreciate her more and more and can really relate to everything you say about her!) - and the second thing: I thought you made my year with you reacting to Pearl Jam / Eddie Vedder! But hey, we have 2020 now ;-)
"jaws can have a little tension.....as a treat" LMAOOOOOO this is why ur my fave
“If we called acting ‘reacting’, there will be a lot more good actors” damn that blew my efing mind.
Genie same omg
I
never thought we'd see Sam do the rap part of Baby. What a happy surprise
If I win the lottery I am going to find Sam and throw money at him whilst cry/screaming "make me sing"
Pretty Good Food same!
😂😂😂😂
omg the imagery 😂😂😂
Same
Underrated comment 😂😂😂😂😂
Billie's parents are parenting goals. So are Sam's parents, because he's so wise beyond his years. Do what you do, mate :)
I'm not into singing and I'm not into Billie Eilish but you're so good at what you do it makes it interesting.
I'm loving that her parents supporting her so fully affected you as deeply as it affected me. Kudos to them!
Why I love Billie on another level:
I sang before I walked when my mom would sing to me.
I’m living vicariously through Billie & that makes me feel really good. Lol
I’m 46 now and singing fully unabashed again... with COPD (dr says that singing could very well save my lungs from further damage and allow me a much longer life).
Yeah I used to at mocked at and it made me feel shamed to sing loudly
Love that you want to push her to do more. Feels like you truly want to coach her because you’re excited for her and what she could do. Great reaction, fun to watch!
Bri Bardonner yes he’s the real angel of music. How can we make this Sam coaching Billie a thing that happens?
I hope she sees this. Think she would be really touched.
I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure Billie has said she hates when vocal coaches/teachers explain her singing techniques and when they try to give tips so she could improve.
Edit: I found this: th-cam.com/video/_K9MVaK0rNQ/w-d-xo.html. Im just assuming she hates vocal coaches/teachers, but that's what i get from this.
t8 she was talking about a certain vocal coach who is an asshole. And other vocal coaches don’t like him too.
t8 she wasn’t talking about the coach that you send a link of
@@user-gm6qp7kh2s I knew of that, I meant it in relation to what he said about her family and so on.
I crawled out from under a rock, and heard her for the first time on this carpool video. I was instantly a fan. Got 2 cd's and 2 records now.
I just love how Sam reacts, it’s so honest, and amazing. It’s a beautiful thing. :)
I love her emotions she shows. She appears so vulnerable, and not faking it.
Best wishes for your new family!! You'll do great, I'm sure. ❤️
Thank you Luna. 💙 So sweet of you to say. Sometimes the internet can be a kind place.
I felt exactly this when I watched this. In the same situation as well. Good luck!
Petition for Sam Johnson to be on James' show.
You will see much and more variety from Billie. She is an amazing artist and she has only just begun. She sings from her soul. Looking forward to more of her and Finneas’ art.
"she's just having fun in a car with James corden" mood
Ruby Carswell I read this comment at the exact same time that he said it in the video lol So satisfyingggggg!!
Me: *nods along in agreement as if I have any knowledge of this subject* Oh, yeah, right, yes definitely.
I want more people like Sam in the world. Just genuinely nice people. These videos warm my heart
(My words, not theirs, of course.)
I agree with you...reacting.
I love Sam's positivity and honesty. Need more of this on TH-cam. 😍
Love how you noticed James talent in singing. So many peeps out there mock him cuz they think he was “overpowering” those artists with him in the car.
J Li he’s got fantastic pitch and I love how passionate he is about each guest. Always learns the lyrics etc. It’s joyful!
Kat Burns And if there’s some that he doesn’t have memorized he at least still have the tone down and enthusiasm to sing it through the end! I seriously respect him for that
One of the only reaction Series that I actually grin at while watching. Sam offers such interesting commentary and really enjoys people singing ☺️ such a bright spot on the internet.
The look on his face at 8:53 when he says “because ya don’t” is a whole look 😂😂
I cried when I watched it too. I've never "stanned" a celebrity before but this girl and her family are so beautiful that I just support them all whole heartedly.
"Jaws can have a little tension as a treat" LMAO
after he said that i IMMEDIATELY scrolled to see if this comment was made 😂😂 i love him
This statement was absolutely delightful! Never heard/thought of positive jaw tension. Haha!

For real I'm going to implement that rule in my house. If you're doing music, even "screwing around" you don't have to go to bed.
This video is so special! I love them all, but this one is really sweet! Thank you for always being such a kind and supportive person!
i also wonder how much the fact that they recorded at home impacted her singing style
Jasmine Leopard agree, she’ll definitely need to practice those other sounds tho
@@diandracoleman3679 yeah but she doesn't need to write songs to practice, she can practice privately
That's what Sam said. He wanted her to have more singing options "for later in her career/life" as he said :)

Yes..yes...yessss....and yessssss! Say it again please. Love this. 😍😍😍

Exposing yourself isn't easy, least at all in front of a camera. Keep it up. Your supporter from Argentina is thrilled about this evolution of yours.
I rarely get on TH-cam anymore. I saw this video and had to check it out. I had recently watched this Carpool Karaoke and was curious and what you had to say. You see things from a musical perspective that I would have never thought of. Your insight is detailed, explained very well and thought provoking. Thank you for sharing your advice and your reaction with us.
Sam, you embody the quote that I keep at the forefront of my mind when going to work everyday: "If you can't explain it simply, you don't understand it well enough." (Einstein) .... I don't know a LICK about music. Nothing. Can't hardly tap my foot to the damn beat (UGH tragic), but you explain this stuff in a way that even I can understand. Beyond that, you keep me interested. It's clear you care about your craft and you WANT people to better their skills. Youre really a delight.

Really? I think of a Billie. I think of another mainstream celebrity brandishing designer labels. Everyone I see her she has some brand in big letters printed on her billboard size clothes

Love Billie love her voice. Glad you pointed out how she can do so much more. Her voice is already so pretty but I want to hear her get loud!
Ugh, I’ve never regretted following your videos for a second. Billie gives me this sense of hope for the creative industry I want to be in, and you are such a cool voice in that creative world for me. Love it, love it love it. Thanks for making content out here ❤️
