To activate the merge option what do you mean when you say "select the background" and then "select tbe text" does that mean highlight them ?
Hi, click on the rectangle (background) shape first, hold control while you click on the text. Then you had both selected 👍
It doesn't work.the rectangle gets reduced and my background is seen .

I like this slow tutorial with more details but I did not understand when you zoom inside the slide it won't be shown on the slide panel and the next slide will automatically change to the desired picture

Thanks for the nice words! If I remember correctly morph was added from 2016 onwards. So it should be OK (best to double check).

Hi, that’s because there is a small difference between the slides. Best to check the layers or grouped items. That’s usually the case

Can this be done with a logo instead of a text box?
Hi, yes this can be done. But you need the logo as a shape/object in PowerPoint. So a PNG or SVG won't work unfortunately.
It can be done by tracing the outline of the logo and/or turning the text of your logo into a shape. Depending on what your logo looks like this might be easy/difficult

After the duplicate slide it’s all bad. FYI mine says FRANCE I can get the background to fit in the words. Is it because I didnt have the option to go black on Monserrat? I did click bold though?

Sure, I’m putting it on the list but will take a bit more time.
The concept is the same, but you should replace the text with a logo as an .SVG file type. This way you can cut out the logo from the large rectangle 👍

Which version of the power point software are you using for this ? I have 2010 version and it doesn't have the shape format and recording tools in the ribbon also the subtract isn't there.

At 1:45 - Exactly after you fit the photo into the letter, suddenly your photo fits the entire slide. What did you do there? There seems to be a step missing?
Hi, I use the “designer ideas” function. That auto fills an image to full screen. You can always right click crop, but that requires a bit more manual effort 👍

Hi! Amazing tutorial! I have made it work on my first cover slide. Now that I am on my 8th slide, I decided to incorporate this transition again, but the morph isn't working. Instead of zooming in from the 7th slide, the 8th slide just appears normally without any transition. What do you think could be the problem?
Hi, usually when it just fades the order of your layers or grouped items aren’t exactly the same. Then it just fades 👍

Hi, this is a font you need to download first. You can get it for free on dafont or Google fonts 👍 It’s a very all round font, my personal favourite

Hi, you select the background rectangle first, then you hold the "ctrl" key while selecting the text. This way you select multiple items at once.

Hi, you could also try to use the grow effect to the extreme on the text. Not sure if it will be enough. Otherwise I have multiple tutorials using different transitions and effects 🙏

Hi, you would have to upgrade to a more recent version. You can always use PowerPoint online which is for free and the latest version. The only thing missing is the merge option. Morph is available though 🙏

Hi, you can always download a more recent version (paid) or you can use ppt online for free. This one has morph but not the shape format option. 🙏💜 Alternatively you can also use e.g. the push transitions with 2016. I've made a tutorial about that as well on my channel

I cant get the ''writing/leter'' shape to become big enough so the crop out of lettering can cover the image in the second slide - which doesnt allow the transition to fully take place as letters can still be seen in the second slide. can you assist please

At 1:44 you say decrease the shape then increase the shape. All is great up to 1:44 - after that it doesn't make sense. What am I missing?
Hi, at 1:44 I increase the 'cutout' shape. So that it is no longer visible on the slide. Then when you apply the morph trasnsition it will look as if it zooms through the letters.

Hi, it is possible but you need a different approach as the morph transition switched slides.
I would recommend watching this video. Maybe it’s enough, but you can also add a “grow animation” to the cutout shape to add the same effect 👍

Try to make a second text box it worked out with me the first one i created wasn't a text box so after i created second i could delete the previous one and it worked out for me
