I saw the Ramones in about '85 or '86. I expected them to saunter on to stage and begin with the usual "Hello, Boston! Great to be here, blah, blah, blah...hey, here's one form our new album..." But instead, Joey Ramone grabbed the mic, shouted 1,2,3,4! and the launched into "Sheena Is a Punk Rocker". It was GLORIOUS! They played one classic tune after another for 45 minutes, paused to take off their jackets, and then played non stop for another hour or so. It was pure concentrated awesomeness.
My first Ramones show was 86, I ended up seeing them maybe a total of 10 times. I also had a few bootleg concert lps I would listened to. What I noticed between the concerts and the records is that every concert they would pretty much play the same sets of music with songs from their latest album thrown into the mix each time. But on top of that, they got a little bit faster each time So if you listen to a concert from the 70s, its going to be a lot slower than one from the 90s.
Was roadying for a band in Albuquerque, NM when I was 16 years old. The band got called to warm up for the Ramons, who were on their Rocket to Russia tour. They played in a small underground naugahyde bar on the UNM college campus. Great memory. My ears rang for days.
I was at the taping of"Don Kirshners Rock Concert" when I was 1o. I'VE a fan ever since that day. After that i probably.saw them about 20 or more times over the years. Good times!!

Bought my first leather motorcycle jacket on Melrose Blvd at Ebby's to 22:41 look like I could hang with them, like on this cool cover. Wore it til it fell apart a few years ago. The threading broke from too many slam pits. Sh*t happens . Life's too short not to style .

Para mí hasta sex pistols no hubo realmente letras punk, de música se puede decir que fueron Ramones que empezaron el punk. Ellos y grupos como New York Dolls que eran más agresivos en imagen y letras. Para mí punk como tal Sex Pistols. Y no menciono ya grupos de los 60 o 70's... músicos como Hasil Adkins que empezó en el 50 y no grabó hasta el 62 y era más punk que los punks XD pero bueno, se puede decir punk rock y que empezaron, junto a NYD, el estilo pero no por las letras. Not so fast play album tempo add a second guitar for a bigger sound and, consider adding a SECOND DRUMMER that would change the whole dynamic, give the classic RAMONES sound something it's never had before, a big fat juicy BOTTOM for Johnny's chords to blitzkrieg on top of. Fun in rehearsal, at least.
Saw them three times back in the day - fantastic - they kept trying to play their set faster and faster - final time I saw them in Edinburgh they did something like 27 songs in 33 minutes!
amazing mate, i am 47 , and had 2 chances to see them live, unfortunately, i was a teen , already into hardcore and punk rock, but not ramones style.....i curse lot of times myself for not going to the concerts....damm...its too late to complain. some trains just passes once in an entire life and if you miss it...wont be another...its life. keep trying to live mine with that bag. Like this album as much as the first one and they seem to get that. They just stayed the course. They kick ass. The song, 'I don't care' is hypnotic.

I've followed them from 1983 until the end. I used to love hearing them live because they would play every song a whole lot faster than the record.
I loved seeing them Live......like you said they were faster and I loved that they played their songs back to back...non stop slam dancing.
