    Atlanta musician here. I’ve played with Jimmy several times, and you really can’t say enough good things about him. He sounds effortless no matter what style he’s playing, and is as much fun to be around offstage as on.

    Jimmy Herring and Jack Pearson are two of my all-time favourite guitarists. And yes, they are most underrated, and should be far more known than they actually are. So, thanks for that, Levi!

    • @ZeEduardo95
      @ZeEduardo95 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      Jack Pearson is so underrated it is criminal. Also, the fact that the guy constantly plays Squier Bullets nowadays is such a slap in the face for gear elitists. I hope Levi Clay sheds light into the skills of Jack sooner or later. Finally, his slide playing sound is the closest to that of Duane Allman in the Brothers.

His work in Jazz is Dead is outstanding... And after He made some amazing music with Phil Lesh Quintet ("the Q") in the early 2000's. Lots of the musicians took turns jamming with the other bands that day just for their own fun I think. Jimmy played with the first band that day, ARU, and I think he ended up playing with every band that came after, 5 more bands if I recall correctly. It seemed like he never left the stage. He’s an amazing musician capable of playing with anyone. I’ve seen him more times than I can remember now but he always put on an amazing performance and everyone he plays with seems to love him.

    I was in the same class as Jimmy at MI. I got to know him and his brother a bit that year. Great players and really cool guys too.
