  • The last day before the catastrophic eruption of Vesuvius in AD 79.
The eruption led to the destruction of the ancient Roman cities of Pompeii and Herculaneum, burying them under layers of lava and ash. A fateful volcanic event that became mythic, with lasting impacts on the history of the Roman Empire. The film offers an immersive staging. It lets viewers feel the powerful force of nature of Vesuvius and also the everyday atmosphere of the Pompeii residents, who unknowingly experienced the last day before the disaster.

what really astounds me is how the titus response was really akin to modern humanitarian relief efforts after natural disasters,,,

I hope you do a video about Herculaneum since it is "Pompei's sister city." Due to the way the wind was blowing, it didn't experience the same destruction. It was buried in about 50-60 ft of layers of volcanic material. When it was uncovered, they found rolled up scrolls that had been sealed by being charred. They are using 3d jmaging to "unroll" the scrolls so they can be read.

Excellent, however the music is too loud and distracts from the narration. I had to strain to hear every word.

Why is the narrator speaking as if he was describing a golf tournament.
