Very thorough as usual. Germany has everything: nature, history, architecture, museums, big modern cities and a high standard of living. It's always worth visiting Germany. I'm glad that cities that were heavily bombed during World War II chose to rebuild what was there and preserve their heritage. The camera work and editing were really great.

Thanks so much John for your always thoughtful comments. It’s pretty crazy to look at the pictures and see how much they had to restore for cities like Dresden and Cologne. Makes you wonder what Europe would look like if there was no wars 🤔

Most German cities did not simply rebuild "what was there" after WW2. Some historic sites were rebuilt, but more than a few intact buildings even were torn down and replaced by blocks of questionable architecture.

Indeed, Germany is a captivating destination with a rich history, diverse culture, and stunning landscapes. Neuschwanstein Castle, nestled in the Bavarian Alps, is a fairytale-like masterpiece that attracts visitors from around the world. Its architectural beauty and scenic surroundings make it a must-visit, but Germany offers so much more, including vibrant cities, charming villages, and a wealth of cultural experiences. There are so many places in Germany worth to mention (that weren't mentioned in the video): Rügen, Alpen (Alps) in general (I really like Sylvensteinsee, Walchensee, Kochelsee and Tegernsee), cities like Nürnberg (Nuremberg), Leipzig, Bremen (Schnoor is great), Burg Eltz, Trier (oldest city in Germany, Roman culture), Potsdam (Sanssouci, parks, full of history and old buildings), Görlitz (well preserved old town - and scenery for some hollywood movies!) and many more. There aren't any good soccer fields or other things I could've spent time with. But as I grew older I started admiring Rothenburg more and more because of the history, the architecture/infrastructure, the friendliness of most people and how calm the place is in general. There are super many small towns in Germany that are not overrun with tourists but are still very beautiful.
Some examples are Wertheim (and the whole Tauber valley), Idstein (very small but extremely beautiful with a castle in the Taunus, i recommend having lunch at the Alte Feuerwache or the Deli Dojo), Karslruhe (a bit bigger but still very beautiful), the Eifel, a volcanic region, is also very beautiful with Aachen as the biggest city.
As a fan of beautiful castles you must visit Wernigerode Castle in the Harz Mountains. Wernigerode is a super nice little town with an even nicer castle. If you are already there you can also take the Brocken train to the Brocken (the highest mountain in eastern Germany).
Germany is a very unique country where every small town has its own history and architecture because it was divided into many small states for a long time. Therefore, there are so many small beautiful towns that are rarely mentioned in all the tourist books or are simply lost next to the big attractions.

I personally live in Freiburg and for me it's the most beautiful City compared to All the other cities I've been to (in Germany and other coutries of course). I love the vibe of the City during midsummer. The people and the City itself is just amazing.

I first visited East and West Berlin while the wall was still up. We went shopping in East Berlin and it was fun. I loved visiting the flea market in the old bahnhof. My Tante lives in Hamburg.
