Damn well said! Seen them in Alpharetta GA . I feel sorry for anyone that didn’t go see tbis because it’s not Eddie or Alex I had best 2 hours in a very long time 🤟❤🤟
EVH! Eddie had more soul in his right hand and was MUCH more of a song writer than Satch. I like him alot but he can become very boring. It's just he is so technical it doesn't have room for any wow moments. Also, there are MANY, MANY guitarists on TH-cam that play Eddies part as good or BETTER than Satch does.
I think this is very easy for Satriani. Remember, Satriani did a much harder job in 1993 replacing Ritchie Blackmore in Deep Purple. Surprisingly, it was a huge success, and the audience loved him.
@@gfgranja I appreciate your comment. I really love EVH, even during my junior school prom night, I played the songs 'Panama' and 'Hot for Teacher' with my school band. I assume you are not a guitarist. Regarding Ritchie, it's not a technical issue, but the classic rock pentatonic playing style is very different from Satriani's style, and the fans are radical and fanatic. Every professional guitarist knows that EVH's and Joe's, Steve Vai's, and other 80's rock guitarists' techniques are very similar. Tapping, fast legato, harmonic picking, and others. Of course, EVH became the pioneer for 80's rock guitar techniques. If you survey professional guitarists, they will say that playing Joe Satriani's songs is more difficult than playing Van Halen's songs in terms of fingering, tempo, scales, chord progressions, and other complexities. You can find thousands of guitar tutorials on TH-cam if you just want to hear EVH solos exactly as they are recorded in the original songs.
@@Riri-xc9rz I am a guitarist, Satriani can play both EVH and Blackmore easily. I play Purple songs, they are easier for me than Van Halen songs. But hey, thats just me. Rock on brother!
I disagree. The man is 76 years old, and still sounds pretty darn good. Maybe not where he was at 30 years ago, but who is? The only comparable singer, in this age range IMO, is Steven Tyler. Satch is killing it as always as well as Anthony and Bonham. The keyboard player is good as well.
@@BradDavis1974 I agree...it just kind of hits me how much Sammy's voice has declined in just the last year or two..but we all knew it would eventually...

Satriani is not bad, he is contractually bound and cannot use Eddie's original tools and equipment. I think a steel panther Satchel would do the job better. This one plays great and has better EVH vibes.
Satchel is great indeed for VH tracks, but not as unique imo. I enjoy satriani rendition. Love to see him gets a kick at playing them as well... It feels Similar to Pantera today. Not the same but as enjoyable. Pro players... Smooth operators and all friends playing great tunes for the legacy. I hope
Nope. Satchel can play the earlier, simpler tunes, like all of those other players. Gilbert and Nuno, etc. No one else can touch post-1984 era stuff VH other than this line up. It took professor Satch to pull it off.
Do people not realize that satchel has a actual real name and is just a goofy stage persona? No one knows who the hell russ parish is unless they’re fans of paul gilbert, rob halford, and have seen the atomic punks during a certain period.

Satch has such a gift and incredible tone !! What an absolute honor to Eddie, Fantastic guys !!
I am so looking forward to seeing this show on August 19th in Los Angeles. Will be my 91st Sammy show since 1975
Bonham is smokin hot on this track.
Bonham sucks
And behind tempo on every other one

Love Sammy. Want to see the Vegas residency
These guys have an average age of 68 and they are still tight and rocking. Great gathering
Old white guys can still do it. 😉
Happy to see Rai Thistlethwayte up there. So very cool.
One of the most surprising shows ive been to. Was extremely impressed.

Phoenix August 20th!!! Joe's tone and playing are awesome. One of my favorite songs written by Eddie and Sammy.
