I wouldn't feel bad about having to miss them live, Here in the U.S. every headlining date sold out in less than 15 minutes. There are two festivals here they are playing that still have tickets available, But is likely not going to happen for me due to work and other things etc...
Sucks, But I was fortunate to see them on their first U.S. tour back in 2019. And eventually I'm sure they'll come back over again.
And I for one understand all too well the feeling that musically I wasn't doing enough, Not enough to make the impact I'd hoped for at least with the last two bands I was in. I was fortunate when I was pretty young to have been in a band that was somewhat successful 30 years ago (Got to record a couple albums and tour) and got to see some of my friends get signed to major labels and hope to take off. For me being recognized and some of the pressures involved with constantly pushing your band up a hill and the top always just out of reach was exhausting.
About 15yrs ago I started focusing on music again and was in a few locally successful bands, But it was even harder on so many levels to just keep pushing.
Much harder to be noticed or make an impact, Much less earn any kind of income or "living" from. It's not impossible to be a success, But it requires pretty much all of your focus and energy at the expense of pretty much everything else. And most just can't or won't sacrifice it all.
But some will, And it takes someone very determined.
I myself was nearing 50 so I stopped. I still occasionally play and still occasionally record things, But I do it for myself and for the comfort it gives me knowing I at least got the idea down lol!!!
Very long story short, It's perfectly OK to want to be successful and have as many hear you as possible. It's a noble pursuit and a passion for sure.
But don't stay down in doubt for too long. Even if you have to take a break, Or walk away for awhile to gain inspiration again or tend to yourself. That's not wrong to do either.
But if you have a fire witin you that refuses to die, Take that flame and never surrender it. Keep going until you set the world alight. 😉
And yes, while I'm defintely the oldest person I know that's into Sleep Token, I'm much the same. There's tons of bands over time I've loved and been influenced by, But ST just does so many things and does everything exceptionally well. Everyone in the band is a monster musician and performers , And I'm proud of how much they've achieved so far.
This version of "Bloodsport" always wrecks me.
But "High Water" absolutely destroys me. Every time I hear it.

Just like you, when asked about my favorite band i could never choose…. Until I heard Sleep Token.
Love your reactions, your empathy, and emotion! They hit me in a very similar manner. I have loved many bands but they just reach another level for me. Even his previous work. I adore it all. I can’t pick a favorite song. Just depends on my mood. But I am seeing them Sept 8! I am so excited. Lorna Shore is also playing the same day and I would love to see Will Ramos do a song with then. But we shall see!

Glad you're back! The US tour was hard to get tickets to and the resellers are gouging like crazy. They aren't playing near me and I am going on the road to catch them at one show. Hoping nothing gets in the way of it. Hope you can see them again soon.

Sleep Token entered my life at a frustrating and confusing time. They've inspired me, they've helped me cry, and they've helped help me smile.
darlin’ I hate that you feel the way that you are right now, I know it’s a terrible feeling. but something I think you should focus on is yourself and do not compare yourself to other musicians. you are who you are and you write what you want to write and people appreciate it. even if you’re having writer’s block or can’t seem to find the right words or music to fit what you’re feeling right now, that’s okay. any type of artist or creator feels that way at some point. it’s actually how i’ve been feeling recently and currently as well but i’ve accepted the fact that it’s a normal process and that I will eventually overcome it and be inspired again. the same goes for you. you will overcome this lull and find that you are going to write amazing things. coming out of this sort of situation or any kind of self-deprecation or circumstance in your life will give you a lot of inspiration that you can translate into your music. again don’t compare yourself to artists or the impact they have on others. I know for a fact that sleep token/vessel don’t write for other people. he writes for himself. and if other people relate, then that’s awesome. don’t worry about others. write for yourself, express yourself and your feelings without being concerned of other people’s perception. if they can relate to what you write then that’s cool. if they don’t, we’ll that’s fine too. cause in the end true artists write for themselves, or make drawings or paintings or poems etc. they’re not focused on public perception. create something that speaks to yourself, your life experiences, your feelings, your trauma, whatever it might be. you’ve got this girlie and I can’t wait to see what comes next for you.

I feel you on the not being able to go to one of their shows. I turn 40 this Sunday and love sleep token, yet haven't been able to see them live. They are playing near by, but I couldn't get tickets. Lol. One day.....
