The song was about a toxic/abusive relationship. “Eden” being the time before the relationship fell off and when the love was fresh-It calls back chokehold because the song “Chokehold” symbolizes the fresh part of the relationship, where they fell deeply in love. The entire album tells a story of a love found and a love lost, and it’s beautifully written. “I’m a winged insect, you’re a funeral pyre” = I got so close and you burnt me out. “Come now bite through these wires I’m a waking hell and the gods grow tired. Grow back your sharpest teeth you know my desire” is a poetic way of saying “I know you have hurt me before but I can’t stop believing we can go back to what we had in the beginning”. This album was so thought out and can be related to by so many people who were done wrong or who fell out of love.

All the songs are about multiple things and can be interpreted in a multitude of ways.... This one is about the fallen angels... Life love loss pain... And the devils alluring gifts and the price you will pay. Your purity... Your soul... And we all struggle with it... Once you're thrown out of 'heaven' the pain you endure will never allow you to 'return to Eden's Grace's you may be forgiven you may not... But the pain will always remain... Heaven is pure... Like we all were at birth... Innocent... Once we gain that knowledge it's never the same.
I hope you all find your own Edens some day... I left mine... I was cast out of another... So I choose to turn my back on the people who corrupted the next I tried to build. The process repeated until my heaven no longer existed... Because the people I wanted to see again the most also hurt me the most. I forgave was betrayed... Chose to forget... Got used.. now all I have left is the lie of forgiveness and the want for wrath... But not the will to do it... I pray to God that I judge them at the end... I doubt the real God would be as merciful even after everything that happened.

It's actually their own fault that the production and sound itself are so EFFING awesome that not many tend to notice the absolute POETRY their songs are telling. But, perhaps, it's because our brains can't even compute so much at once, lol. Worship.
Get ready for Ascensionism.
This album hits spots for me mentally that nothing else comes close too, love it, the production is amazing, so full. The poetry for me comes from the instrumentalism throughout, i haven’t been paying attention to the lyrics much yet. But yea, this band is one of a kind, very few people can sound like their own genre. A few other good albums with unique qualities would be, Simple Things by Zero 7, Masstaden Under Vatten by Vildhjarta, Existential Reckoning by Puscifer, Polaris by TesseracT, and Liminal by No Oath, i cant think of any more off the top of my head at the moment but those are all worth a detailed listen, and then a second listen to take it all in from another perspective.
I totally agree. The song writing and the vessel's lyrics are just. He's among the best if not the best.

The figure on the visualizer was essentially an angel of death. The angel wings and scythe, which woud represent loss, grief and moving on. The reaper side of the loss and the angel side to save you from it. An easing of pain.

I lost my girlfriend 18 years ago to a blood disease. The trilogy make me want to end it due to its sheer writing perfection. I won’t so you know but it is literally perfection

"Take Me Back to Eden" is a fgn masterpiece. The best album since "Dark Side of the Moon" and that's a bold statement that I stand behind.

The point behind there songs is so that you WANT to listen to it again. Off this album the complexity of there music combined with there lyrics forces you to listen to it multiple times to fully digest the message.
The ambient sound in this song remind of the Pink Floyd ambient sound.

Ascensionism & euclid are incredible. Granite is still my favorite though.

This is the greatest song I've ever heard. Album is one of the best I've ever heard. I'm more into doom metal but this is just amazingly beautiful to my ears. Before this album I had only heard alkaline. This is a masterpiece, but I didn't love it first time hearing it. I just liked it. I've heard this song atleast 100 times in last week. Damn
