I have a theory that Vecna is in Max. What is Max's song? They played it while they were destroying Vecna. And when Vecna fell Max woke up. What if it's Vecna waking up in Max's body and this is why El can't find Max. Will also talks about Vecna being in pain and Max's body is screwed up. Her song is all about trading places. This might be why the fourth victim was so important to Vecna. He planned on taking their body over to rule in our world. Perhaps that was his original intention for Will.
I think just the fact that Eddie was made out to be a demon by the whole town of hawkins just foreshadows that he comes back as a demon (aka vampire). I think that would make a great season 5 if the townspeoples fear is made out to be true. Love this theory and hope it comes true that Eddie is Kas

The Duffers could very well come out and say that no, he didn't make the Mind Flyer, but they haven't. And as majorty opinion is that he did make the Flayer, its not like there's something that makes it obvious he didn't in that scene.

(I personally think the writers love the speculation these things cause) I think if they go down the undead "vampire" Eddie route, it will still very much be DnD inspired.

It's not that nobody saved him. He was bleeding out pretty quickly, (bleeding out of your mouth indicates major internal bleeding) and there wasn't time to even get him to a hospital.

That's a good thing to address! I didn't think of 011 at all. However, I also thought Will could be considered as Kas for season 5. I mean, season 1 could be considered "his death" (or his "thought death", to stick with Eddie's words) and than he was controlled by (so more or less "worked with/for") the Mind Flayer (Vecna). Will did free himself and instead he sticks with his friends that work against the Upside Down (Vecna, Mind Flayer....). So that could be considered as the "turning against" part of Kas history. Additionally, we do know already from the end of Season 4 and, I think it was also officially confirmed as well, that Will will play a huge role in Season 5. So, I would expect him to be the "Kas" for the series (not necessarily literally, but rather based on Kas). Seriously, I would loooove for Eddie to come back. Really. So much. But I liked Eddie for his character (and character development, which actually came to a place where it would be nice to end, if you think about it) and if he would come back as a Vampire, would he still be "Eddie"?

The Duffers can write season 5 in any way they want. They can revive Eddie but if it doesn’t bring any essence to the entire story, it’s kind of useless. It’s also the final season so they might focus more on tying loose ends or making character arcs come into full circle, especially the main cast since S1. Due to high demand for Joseph Quinn, I think the best they can do are flashbacks. I still love these theories and if it’s meant to happen like this, I’d love to see it.

So shouldn't it be safe to say that he killed their physical bodies in order to use them somehow in the upside down? Hold that thought! Now, he tries to kill Max, he somehow succeeds but 11 brings her back so he's still one kill off. Interestingly, Eddie dies that exact time. To top that, the upside down starts leaking into Hawking, meaning he succeeded in his "ritual". Doesn't that mean that he now has the 4 souls (soldiers if we go with the 4 horsemen of the apocalypse theory) including Eddie as the 4th? I'd like anyone's thoughts on if this could be possible. If so, Chrissie could be alive too somehow!

El not being able to reach Max also hints at the fact that she was "absorbed" like all his other kills. But he probably wouldn't say no to an extra victim that he can control, some people think that if Eddie comes back as a "villain" he will be able to control the bats with his guitar like he did earlier in the episode.
I looked up the meaning of each horsemen; conquest, war, famine, and death. They kinda relate to some of the victims. The most obvious one is famine for Chrissy. She has or had an eating disorder. War might be Max? She had a battle at Starcourt, but she's also at war with herself and her guilt. War also fits Victor Creel if you think about it. Conquest might be Patrick? He seemed to be proud of his talents in sports. He's also "too proud" to ask for help regarding his abuse maybe? I'm really not sure with this one. This leaves Fred with Death, which does kinda fit. He was involved in a hit and run and someone died as a result of it. It's also implied that the victims family blames him, or that atleast he himself thinks they do.

the jean jacket is a stretch (no pun intended) a lot of ppl probably wore that in the 80's & it's like what else is this dudes uncle gonna wear but compelling especially since imagery & foreshadowing are a big part of this series but also too. ALSO since this was Jamie Campbell Bowers & Joseph Quinn's breakout season, they're buds, around the same age, Vecna killed Eddie, made an apology video.. they're probably doing press together. Although I hope it's all with purpose of these theories.
I think people are being too literal with the DnD connections. The Demogorgon, mind flayer, Vecna, aren’t one to one comparisons to the DnD characters they are named after and just have some similarities. It Eddie comes back he isn’t going to be a vampire because that doesn’t fit with the ST lore. He’ll be serving Vecna and brought back from supposedly being dead so that’s why he would end up being called Kas.
I read an article that supposedly "debunked" the Eddie/Kas theory (it absolutely didn't), and basically the whole argument was that doing a 1:1 retelling of the Kas story from D&D would be lazy on the part of the Duffer bros. It would definitely be lazy if it truly was 1:1, but as you said, it wouldn't need to be, and tbh, that makes me believe it even more. The Duffers will take the Kas story and remake it into something beautiful.

There are also photos of joseph being put into prosthetic makeup where his body is all mangled. Why would they do that for his death scene when we didn't even get to see his body?
The Jamie/Joe interviews might've been a way to test their chemistry together to see if bring Eddie back is a good idea. I like most of your theories and I believe he'll come back, but just want to add, the Michael Myers mask was just Max's Halloween costume. I don't think it was cluing us into anything.

Is Eddie the ONLY person to die IN the upside down? Everyone else died in Hawkins right? I'm trying to remember them all...Barb, Bob, Chrissy, Fred even Billy all died in town, not upside down. Am I forgetting anyone? If Eddie is the only one that dies in the upside downthat could mean anything, dead not really dead. Who knows? Duffers said the end of the series they have know, but S5 is still pretty fluid and being formed. They could totally bring Eddie back.
Barb died in the upside down - she was pulled underwater in regular Hawkins, but was still alive when it switched to the upside down version of the pool with the vines and the blood, which is where she died. I believe the Kas theory, but I don't think this is necessarily part of it.

yee same, it was kinda off that they used just those two together in all these recent interviews and stuff

I think people are being too literal with the DnD connections. The Demogorgon, mind flayer, Vecna, aren’t one to one comparisons to the DnD characters they are named after and just have some similarities. It Eddie comes back he isn’t going to be a vampire because that doesn’t fit with the ST lore. He’ll be serving Vecna and brought back from supposedly being dead so that’s why he would end up being called Kas.
I read an article that supposedly "debunked" the Eddie/Kas theory (it absolutely didn't), and basically the whole argument was that doing a 1:1 retelling of the Kas story from D&D would be lazy on the part of the Duffer bros. It would definitely be lazy if it truly was 1:1, but as you said, it wouldn't need to be, and tbh, that makes me believe it even more. The Duffers will take the Kas story and remake it into something beautiful.
@@paraworldblue absolutely! With what the Duffers have done in the past I think they could absolutely do something that will work and feel organic to their storytelling. I won’t ever believe Eddie is forever dead until season 5 ends and he didn’t show up
There are also photos of joseph being put into prosthetic makeup where his body is all mangled. Why would they do that for his death scene when we didn't even get to see his body?
The Jamie/Joe interviews might've been a way to test their chemistry together to see if bring Eddie back is a good idea.

Is Eddie the ONLY person to die IN the upside down? Everyone else died in Hawkins right? I'm trying to remember them all...Barb, Bob, Chrissy, Fred even Billy all died in town, not upside down. Am I forgetting anyone? If Eddie is the only one that dies in the upside downthat could mean anything, dead not really dead. Who knows? Duffers said the end of the series they have know, but S5 is still pretty fluid and being formed. They could totally bring Eddie back.
Barb died in the upside down - she was pulled underwater in regular Hawkins, but was still alive when it switched to the upside down version of the pool with the vines and the blood, which is where she died. I believe the Kas theory, but I don't think this is necessarily part of it.
