After centuries, WE FINALLY GOT A MATCHUP WHERE I KNOW A LOT ABOUT BOTH AND LOVE BOTH FRANCHISES and after some consideration, I'm gonna have to say that Ichiban has everything he needs to stay with the girl of his dreams (literally!).
First of all, let's talk about the things Ichiban (the best 42 year old ever!) has over Scott (the best 24 year old ever!), that being a wider arsenal, way more skills with his jobs, better firepower than ANY of the evil exes (except maybe Todd though he's never done the moon thing in an actual fight) and most importantly his friends by his side, poundmates can give for even more backup if things get rough for Ichiban and friends. I don't really see anything Scott has that Ichiban doesn't. Doesn't help that Ichiban and crew have time to prepare and strategize between fights, as well as them all being smarter than Scott or anyone he had help from. Ichiban and the gang can also heal and revive each other mid fight or between fights, so the exes will have to take them all out at once to win this while Ichiban has to only face one or two of the exes a day.
The exes infighting and lack of trust and loyalty to each other is a big aspect here, I definetly agree that Ichiban could convince most if not all of them to stop fighting, if Ichiban manages to recruit even a lower member like Matthew (who doesn't even like Gideon to start with), the battle against the exes could be over before the exes even get a chance to start it.
One of the biggest factors for Ichibans victory is status effects which can leave the exes unable to fight (paralyze, brainwash, drunk and fear) and specifically the silence effect which leaves those effected without the ability to use powers or skills, leaving them with practically only their combat skill, one of the exes biggest advantages IS said powers, so they're practically sitting ducks if they get infected with silence.
Thanks to those reasons, a good portion of the league would fall to Ichiban and friends without difficulty. Matthew, Lucas, the Twins and especially Roxie would be overwhelmed by status effects, numbers and the wide variety of abilities the Heroes of Yokohama have. Matthew and Lucas both have options to close the numbers advantage, but Ichiban and crew have a plethora attacks that hit multiple enemies at once as well as being used to crowds. Roxie is also all by herself against 6 (7 if we include Eri) people who all are just as strong and fast as her and have all the previously mentioned. Lucas taking on an entire army of paparazzi ninjas is impressive, but he still lost and needed Ramona to bail him out. Even if they somehow get the upper hand on the Ichisquad, he can still call in support with poundmates or simply blast them off the face of the Earth with his orbital cannon.
Gideon with the glow also falls victim to status effect cheese, as Ichiban and friends resist brainwashing as it's an actual status in the game. I can see the Gideon fight going similarly to Ryo Aoki in fact, where Ichiban and friends conspired to expose Aoki for his crimes, leaving him as a manic mess. Given how we've seen Gideon deal with the loss of his power, if the Ichiban pulls THAT off, Gideon is practically dead weight at that point.
Finally, the vegone, who the crew will need to make begone. Todd's biggest weaknesses are his arrogance and the possibility of him losing his powers, both of which Ichiban and friends can exploit. Ichiban and crew have numerous options to massively weaken Todd if they get the chance, namely Essence of R.I.P, which could BFR Todd's very soul "to the great beyond" as the game puts it, vegan portals might be able to bring him back, but they've never been shown to be able to travel between dimensions, just across space and time, and even then it's implied Todd can't do the time travel. Scott got a few good hits in on Todd even without Ichiban's powers, so with a numbers advantage alongside status effects to make Todd nearly blackout drunk, make him too afraid to even attack, (and ESPECIALLY IF TODD GETS HIT WITH SILENCE he's fucked at that point) Ichiban and crew should get more than enough chances to take him out. Ichiban and friends also carry food on them at all times, and even have the chicken Omelette as a poundmate, so funnily enough they'll always have access to milk and eggs, bitch.
Inconclusion, while the League of Evils Exes may be powerful (and hot), Ichiban's tenacity, abilities, counters to practically everything the exes can do and most importantly THE POWER OF FRIENDSHIP will make this Ichiban's finest hour, Ramona lucked out btw Ichiban is a catch and a half.

I believe Ichiban should take this with ease! but not for the reasons you would think!
Ichiban has some incredibly rizz! He's really notable for his infectious enthusiasm! and what's more attractive than a man with many jobs!!! in particular he can win over most of the Exe's hearts with his charm! The one that came to mind the most is Todd Ingram he fell madly in love with Wallace Wells only after a short acting scene so he could totally hit him with the mad amounts of skibidi rizz to his name!
The rest of the exes as well :3 it's pretty easy to see how fellows like Lucas Lee or Matthew Patel would be won over by such a courageous man! hell even more than Gideon who might be the hardest to sell on romance- but he has shown to be able to put aside his evil plans for friendship :3 but the same can likely be said for romance!
I dunno about Roxie but I think Ichiban can set her up with someone :3 Narrow Triangle told me lesbians are real in Yakuza :3 so yeah! sure :333 yeah!!!!
so that's it! Ichiban forms a polycule with the 6 formerly evil exes :3 yeah!

Ayo Narrow, I'm glad to see you're debating against a previous GGM Combatant from the Konosuba episode. (Jesting, excited for u too Aqua). Glad to see friends going places. Or debating places.
Anyways, I'm thinking this is close. Matthew's numbers, Lucas' doubles, Todd, and Gideon are definitely capable warriors and fighters in their own right. The issue for me, though, is that Ichiban has gone up against rapports of muuuuch more impressive members in their own ways. Kazuma Kiryu, for example, is someone who was essentially mastered 4 different fighting styles, giving him a variety of moves and techniques to pull back from. And Ichiban could utilize his experience to counter and weaponize similar or exact moves to those. Same thing with Goro and knives, the robots, and so much more.
Todd is an example of "oh hey, oh shit those powers". But in a way, his powers have a huge caveat. Sure, he's accomplished big things, but they have still been either replicated (the robot in Scott Takes Off) or don't fully extend to his body (Scott still defeating him and forcing him to react before his powers kick in). With Ichiban's options and variety, coupled with his friends, and I see him Ya-kicking him down Za path of defeat. (Sorry not sorry for the terrible pun) And even then, Ichiban genuinely has a "go to hell" option that could just drag Todd's soul to hell (Essence of R.I.P move apparently), so uh good luck with essentially getting Ghost Rider'd.
When looking at all the arguments, several of the Exes are Ex-d out in how they could win. Gideon's sword killing Scott before was because Scott had a weakness to sharp weapons. The glow could work... but that's needing Gordon to have time to cast it before his Goose gets cooked.
Hell, that's not all! The shops in Scott Pilgrim where Ichiban has ALSO shown to go to food and such places that could boost him, the times of experience in being outnumbered, luck and stat manipulation, having so much shit like katanas and guitars and weaponry to not need on the environment, having food already with him to HEAL him, AND up to two Sacrifice Stones that can restore him from death?!
Ngl I really do think the Seven Deadly Exes have a chance at victory. But... they're Dame Da Done in this case! Consider them a mere level, because I think Ichiban will simply *PASS!*

This is a WEIRD one, but very interesting… I’m going to have to give things just narrowly triangle to Ichiban. While the exes definitely have some weird stuff that Ichiban hasn’t dealt with in his adventures, some of the more out there abilities of the exes wouldn’t become a surprise to him due to one major factor; his obsession with the Dragon Quest franchise. With shapeshifting being such a common ability used by bosses as well as mind control, the form changing from the exes and the glow possibly turning Ichiban’s friends against him would be something Ichiban could likely find a way to deal with. And even then, I don’t know if the exes will give it their all here, after all Scott was blatantly an asshole who treated people around him horribly during the early parts of the story, while Ichiban is a nice guy who would want to help everyone out with their problems even if they initially are trying to kill him. Aside from the more “unhinged” of the exes, I genuinely believe that he could befriend and recruit the exes and possibly improve their lives. And hey, he’d probably be done in time for the Dragon Quest 3 HD remake… so even if his life is at stake, he’s still gotta live to play that.

When I clicked on this video, I was already ecstatic from having a new GGM, but once I found out that the video had two new hosts, I nearly fainted from excitement. So far I find the new hosts quite entertaining. I don’t know a lot about Narrow Triangle, but they seem fun and I can’t wait to see more of them! As for Aqua, I happen to recognize her. I really love watching Realm of Gods (Kiryu vs Dom is my favorite episode) and I can’t wait for season 2. Anyway, back to the important stuff, this is an interesting match but after some careful thinking I'm going to give this to Ichiban.
Let's first break down how Ichiban would fare against/count every ex’s unique abilities.
    1. Matthew Patel - I think Ichiban has this one in the bag. Mathew’s only advantages are his fireballs, flight, demon hipster chicks and his soul attacks, but I think Ichiban could easily handle that. Fireballs won’t be too bad since Ichiban isn’t an idiot and would try to dodge them. The fireballs don’t appear to move too fast when compared to stuff Ichiban has contended with and they are heavily telegraphed. Also Ichiban is resistant to fire attacks so… As for Matthew’s flight, Ichiban can counter by using projectiles, especially his orbitable laser. I don’t think Matthew will be expecting a satellite shooting a giant laser beam at him until it’s too late. As for the Demon Hipster Chicks, we see in the anime during the Gideon vs Matthew fight, normal weapons can defeat the hipster chicks so Ichiban can just … attack them and they're gone? Ichiban can also just outnumber Matthew and the Demon Chicks with his friends, all of which have way more abilities than Matthew and his demon chicks. Matthew’s soul abilities only really give him another set of arms and nothing too much, so Ichiban should be able to still deal with him.
    2. Lucas Lee - Lucas Lee doesn’t really have anything going for him outside of his stunt doubles which Ichiban can just have his friends fight, or turn them on his side by brainwashing them. Outside of that, Lucas is just another strong guy that Ichiban could easily beat.
    3. Todd Ingram - Okay, now this one is kind of harder, but I think Ichiban still takes this. Todd’s vegan powers make him able to teleport, throw shit, fly, pull a Tetsuo, and read minds. However, I actually think Ichiban can find a way to remove Todd’s vegan powers, or at least subdue them long enough to take him out of commission. Silence is a status effect that keeps opponents from using their special abilities, something I think vegan powers count as. As for Todd’s tetsuo attack, it’s heavily telegraphed so I think Ichiban can counter it. Ichiban could also potentially counter Todd’s mind control since he can resist all status effects in his game, including brainwash showing he has some resistance against telepathic attacks. Todd’s teleportation is heavily telegraphed as he has to create a portal first and then go through it, giving Ichiban time to react. Also Todd’s teleportation can’t counter Ichiban’s BFR as he was affected by and couldn’t escape Old Scott’s BFR attacks. That just leaves Todd’s telekinesis which wouldn’t be as bad as you would think since Scott was able to fight Todd in the game perfectly fine despite Todd having telekinetic powers.
    4. Roxy - she’s just a less hot Goro Majima so Ichiban should win.
5&6. The twins - they are a little harder due to their robots but there’s one problem, their reliance on each other. Their entire fighting style is based off of them cooperating so imagine what would happen if Ichiban brainwashed one of them and had the twins fight? Also the orbital laser would probably be able to mess up their giant robot, as well as Ichiban’s electrical abilities.
    7. Gordon Goose - The only real advantage Gordon has is the Glow but that ability isn’t lethal and Ichiban could potentially be immune to it given how he’s immune to status effects in his game. Particularly Brainwash which basically does what the Glow does but on a more extreme level. Even then, Ichiban has so many abilities that he would overwhelm Gideon and as we see in Gideon’s fight with Matthew, he can be overwhelmed by a wide range of abilities.
Also these are just some things that Ichiban can do to all of the exes that they just have no counter to, he can:
    - Use the Stun/Sleep/Charm, which would leave the exes unable to attack or move.
    - Use Burn, Cold & Poison debuffs to wear down any of the exes during their fights.
    - Paralyze the exes, which leaves them stunned and unable to attack or defend themself.
    - Make them drunk, which leaves them unable to properly attack and act erratically.
    - Make them too afraid to attack him.
    - Brainwash them and have the exes just choose not to fight, or maybe fight each other, or have everyone in the local vicinity jump the exes.
    - Manipulate the exes' luck, causing them to go through some Final Destination shit to the extent that meteors and lightning rain down on them.
    - (I mentioned this before but it applies to every ex as well) Use the Essence of R.I.P move to just BFR any of them. We do see that BFR can be used against the exes since Old Scott did it to everyone at the end of the anime.
    - Absorb and drain the exes’ health to heal himself during the fight
    - Summon a helicopter to fire an electric bazooka at them
    - Use a guitar to buff his party members
    - And most importantly, Silence, which leaves opponents unable to use special abilities. I think it’s clear how that can help Ichiban
Ichiban also has several methods of healing himself midfight through:
    - Eating food
    - Having his friends heal him
    - Sacrifice stones which resurrect him from death
    - Absorption (mentioned it before)
    - Fully heal himself with Hero’s Compassion, Hero’s Embrace, and Hero’s Vigor
    - And his ability Peerless Resolve also revives him from KO
These revives would make it so that Ichiban would always be able to adapt to any of the exes’ powers as if any of them catch him off guard and kill him, he can come back aware of what to watch out for. Think of a Chosenborn situation but the stats are equalized and the dragonborn has at most one or two abilities.
Also one more point I want to bring up is how Scott was able to beat the exes without all these abilities, so I think a Scott with more abilities would probably be able to beat the exes. That coupled with how Ichiban’s friends would be more willing to help Ichiban than Scott’s friends would also put things in Ichiban’s favor.
Something, something. [insert Ichiban pun], Ichiban wins.

I’m going to side with Ichiban in this situation. While the argument is that the Seven Evil Exes will be fighting together, this scenario is similar to Scott’s own situation: which means they’ll likely work on their own one after another. So Ichiban should be fresh by the time facing the next one.
Matt: While he has flight and soul attacks, Scott didn’t have answers to that and won three out of 4 adaptations. Ichiban has allies who fight alongside him and the ability to summon people as well, so the numbers Matt would have could dwindle as well. And while he can keep his distance, a laser targeting you from space will make a difference.
Lucas: Besides being a tough guy, he really only has stunt doubles. Ichiban alone can fight off a bunch of people at once and again, has friends to fight alongside himself and summons. And Ichiban himself is comparable in strength to Lucas, if not stronger.
Todd: For all his Vegan Powers, Ichiban doesn’t really need to trick him into eating non-vegan food. He was already doing so in two of the four adaptations, meaning the Vegan Police were already investigating him. All it would take is for his ego to make him lose his Vegan powers. The Take Off Adaptation also shows if he gets depressed enough, he’ll lose it on his own. Which makes the movie version the surprisingly most vegan. Still, 3 out of 4 times it’ll be his Ego taking him down or Todd being won over by Ichiban.
Roxie: She has speed and a sword. He has numbers and a space lazer.
Katayanagi Twins: Ichiban faces robots and has friends. This is no different.
Gideon: First off, Gideon does not have shapeshifting powers. In the game, everything in his fight was robots so he doesn’t have a big final form. Secondly, the Glow specifically overwhelms their targets with their personal traumas. Ichiban and his friends already overcame them. And if his friends falter, his inspirational attitude will lift them from that curse. As for Ichiban himself, he lost his father and saw his father figure lose a limb for him, if this guy is willing to wait a hundred days to be accepted the Glow ain’t doing jack to him.
Regardless of version, I see Ichiban overcoming the Exes. Movie and Manga Versions will be the most difficult but most likely to overcome. The Game Versions would be super easy since every answer is “beat them up till you win” where all their advantages didn’t matter if you’re skilled enough. And the Anime Version is the most likely to be talked out of with each of them giving him their blessing.
So Ichiban is my pick. Because if Scott can do it, Ichiban can.

Wow this is a great video and I’m definitely NOT saying that because Aqua broke into my house and has a gun to my head!
Despite that, I’m going to lean Ichiban. Numbers don’t matter since he can easily get his friends to help and the League (minus the twins) never really work together, he’s fought stuff as ridiculous if not more so, has techniques like the sky laser to counter some of the wackier things, is experienced in the weird world and rules Scott Pilgrim has so it’s not a hurdle, is far more rational than Scott and arguably Ramona so he should be able to reason with most of the team, and based on how split up the fights in Scott were, he should have time to prepare between each. Really the only obstacle seems to be Todd, but Todd is really stupid and overall emotional so I think he can pull off something, whether it be fighting him, reasoning with him, or depowering him.

Despite not being too knowledgeable on the contenders here, I'm gonna go ahead and argue for the Evil Exes.
I think one major advantage they'd have in this specific scenario hinges on how much they know about Ichiban's reputation as a yakuza affiliate. If they're aware of his exploits and how much he's achieved, I think they'd regard him as much more of a threat than some twerp from Toronto whose best pickup line involves Sonic the Hedgehog. That would probably lead them to fight more strategically and as a unit instead of letting Ichiban pick them off one by one, which will make it harder for him to win.
As for Ichiban's friends, they might be able to even the numbers if they join in the fight against all the Exes at once, but considering how smart and cunning Gideon is, I think he'd know to stick to the back lines at first and use the Glow to turn Kasuga's party against him. Ichiban might have experience fighting against hordes of enemies, but I don't think he's ever fought against a group of superpowered foes like Matthew, Todd, the twins, et cetera all at once. Add his own party members into the opposition, who Kasuga might be hesitant go all-out against due to his kindhearted nature, and I think things start to look pretty bad for the Rock-Bottom Dragon.
This is an interesting debate and I won't be surprised if my lack of experience with Yakuza and Scott Pilgrim means there are decisive factors I'm missing. But from my current point of view, I think the Seven Evil Exes have just what they need to clinch a victory.

Alright, first time commenting on one of these. And it involves at least one series I'm familiar with (Scott Pilgrim). So, this is an interesting one, as I'm not really sure if stats are equalized or not. I'm assuming they are, since they usually are, but if not, well this I can just point to Todd's moon crater feat, which is Continental and over Mach 6000. I can then point out how Gideon wasn't impressed by Todd's vegan powers and that Scott outright said that each evil ex is harder to beat than the last, plus the finale of the anime all outright implying the rest of the cast scales to the feat. Add on Lucas dodging a camera flash in the anime, aaaand the Evil Exes blitz and one-shot, gg.
However, assuming stats are equalized, as usual, I've actually gotta side with the majority and give it to Ichiban. Starting with how he fairs against the evil exes individually, Matthew isn't going to pose any threat. Not only has Ichiban dealt with fire and large crowds before, but Garfguy509 pointed out that Ichiban possesses several ranged options, such as guns, rockes, lightning, and meteor strikes, meaning levitation isn't going to be an issue. Moving onto Lucas, the only thing he's really bringing to the table is his army of stunt doubles, which don't have any special abilities and just rely on bum-rushing the opponent. Considering Ichiban has a party of his own, and he's a much better strategist, and I'm pretty sure he can handle this no problem. (That, and one of his friends summoning a freaking tornado seems like a pretty good crowd-clearing option.)
Todd is an interesting case, since he's presented as an unstoppable force in the comic, but see my arguments above for why the rest of the cast actually scales to him. This would mean that Ichiban and his crew would actually be in the same ballpark as Todd, and can overwhelm his with their superior numbers and own bizarre abilities. Plus, Todd is secretly cheating on his vegan diet, so Ichiban and his gang could figure that out and then the vegan police will come in and de-power him, rendering him useless. Roxie doesn't bring anything new to the table that hasn't already been covered, except for bladed weapons, which Ichiban can resist, so that won't be much help.
It was already discussed in the video how Ichiban has fought similar things the twins are bringing, and while Aqua tried to argue that they could overwhelm the party in sheer numbers...dude, giant ass tornado. Large crowds of enemies go bye bye. Plus, Scott and Sex-Bobomb still beat the twins despite everything they had. So why couldn't a stat-equalized Ichiban and co. do the same. They have way more skill and abilities than the Scott Pilgrim cast, after all.
Finally, that brings us to Gideon. The final boss. He mainly fights with a sword, which I already said Ichiban can resist, so that just leaves the Glow. While at first glace, this may seem like a huge danger to Ichiban and co., and how could it not. However, there are a few caveats that lead me to believe that the Glow will, ultimately, be largely useless:
    1. The way to get rid of the Glow's effects permanently is to come to terms with your personal issues. I'll elaborate more on this in just a bit, but in short, I think Ichiban will approach this whole situation in a way that will allow his allies to do that with relative ease, thus negating the Glow's effects.
    2. Scott was able to free himself from the Glow's influence by confronting Gideon in Ramona's subspace, headbutting him and weakening his hold enough for him and Ramona to break free. Given Ichiban is more skilled and varied in his abilities than Scott, he can likely do the same.
    3. The Glow doesn't affect Gideon himself, because (here's the kicker) he's been trapped in his mind since childhood and he doesn't think he has any problems. Thing is, that can also be used to describe Ichiban. He views the world like an RPG do to being an obsessive fan of Dragon Quest since childhood, and he doesn't have any deep seeded baggage like most of the Scott Pilgrim cast. Sure, he lets his emotions get to him sometimes, but I doubt he sees that as that big a problem. Heck, abilities like Heat outright empower him through his emotions, so he'll likely see it as a strength.
Due to the above, I don't believe the Glow will be all that effective on Ichiban and his friends. And without that, Gideon really doesn't have much going for him. Even if you wanna bring up his final form from the video game, Ichiban calls in an orbital strike and nukes him, gg. Also, it feels a little disingenuous to say that the evil ex's could boost themselves with the video game power-ups, since we never actually see them do that, only Scott and co. Since Ichiban is essentially replacing Scott in this scenario, that should only give him even more options to work with.
And now, onto my final point, that being Ichiban's approach to this scenario. Ichiban is a highly optimistic and charismatic individual, to the point where it's contagious. Add onto his strong desire to help others, and he'll probably see this as him helping Ramona patch things up with her exes. And as Scott Pilgrim takes off proved, Ramona can talk it out with her exes and get on good terms with them. Ichiban will just play therapist and make this process so much easier, especially since it's immediately apparent that he's a good guy, unlike Scott. The only one he likely won't be able to get through to is Gideon, but, well, see the above as to why Ichiban beats him.
In short, in a stats equalized scenario (which I believe this is), and I believe Ichiban will pass this with flying colors. With effective counters to everything the evil exes can do, an arguably even more crazy and effective web of allies than those of Scott Pilgrim, and the charisma to help the whole cast confront their demons, he has everything he needs to defeat Gideon and his posse and make it back home in time for some Dragon Quest. Like a Dragon, he burnt the Evil Ex's chances of winning to ash, leaving them ex-tinct.
    The winner is Ichiban.

    This is SO Skibidi
But fr hi Aqua and Narrow
This is a super interesting debate that I’ve thought about for a bit, but my Scott Pilgrim brain is on overdrive (always) so I’ve gotta go with the Seven Evil Exes (sorry Narrow triangle)
I do think a large part of the debate would come down to if the Exes attack one at a time or all together, but I’ll presume the former as that’s what they have done in all of their battles other than Takes Off against Even Older Scott.
But as for The Exes’ wincons themselves
I definitely do not think they’d be easily talked out like in Takes Off, most of that relies on Ramona herself making amends. Something she only did once Scott was out of the picture. Otherwise they will fight and be out for blood like they are against Scott.
(The Lucas example wouldn’t be totally accurate as they only talked it out *after* Lucas beat Scott. Which would mean a loss for Ichiban)
Some of the exes were only redeemed anyways because of other interactions (Matthew changed because of Gideon, Todd changed because of Wallace, Gideon changed because of Julie, etc.)
And as for taking them all on one by one, that’s gonna require a lot of endurance against a wide variety of opponents to say the least.
Scott himself felt pressed by them after only fighting up to Todd, barely even halfway and hadn’t even faced the real threats like The Twin’s Robot and Gideon.
Speaking on Gideon, Scott in a physical encounter absolutely lost, much like Ichiban would. And could only eventually beat him with the power of love/self-acceptance plus an extra life where he knew what would happen in advance.
Two things Ichiban wouldn’t have and would be too worn out to face off against, which especially wouldn’t help once against The Glow.
Not to downplay Ichiban or anything, he’s absolutely tough enough to take on most of the exes and beat a lot of them. But expecting him to go one by one and beat all 7 is just cray cray. Actually hilarious even.
Great first ep you two 💜💜💜

Wouldn't be a GGM if I weren't going with who I think are the underdogs, looking at the other comments here. Plus I have to side with my fellow Princess Peach stan. Even though I'm siding against the guy who had my back with Zig. I'm so sorry, man.
Obligatory statement of how I don't really know much about either franchise and am just going off what was provided here. In that sense, one thing that stuck out to me was Narrow stating most of the video gamey bullshit that happens to Ichiban is all in his head. Sure, his series still has a lot of weird stuff beyond that and this doesn't explain all of it, like that crane thing, and it was spun as a point in his favor. But if the lines between reality are blurred that much to where a lot of it can be chocked up to that, then I think that's still going to leave him and his crew disadvantaged compared to a group of (at least) equally skilled fighters where that video gamey bullshit is just part of how the world actually works. Just because I can imagine myself emerging victorious in an epic battle against a dragon, doesn't mean I'd stand a chance in a real life scenario.
On top of that, some of the Exes just seem to have powers that I think would be out of their ballpark, even with that aside; Such as Todd's vegan powers making him basically invulnerable and Scott mainly winning because of dumb luck and trickery, or Gideon's glow being able to manipulate Ichiban and his party into fighting themselves instead. And while Ramona in this scenario might be into Ichiban, it's not really clear if he feels the same way here, so I don't know if earning the right to be her boyfriend in their eyes would be that worthwhile of a cause to him. Not saying he'd just give up and abandon Ramona, of course. Just that he probably wouldn't really want to fight most of them in the first place. Though in that case he probably could just end up on good terms with them, but not sure who would technically win in that scenario.
All in all, off to a good start for you two's first episode together. Looking forward to Part 2!

Im just gonna set it straight, Ichiban 100% has this covered. The man has enough fighting skills to rival Scott, has way more expereince, overall knowledge in using weapons to his advantage, uses RPG tropes far more effectively, and overall just holds so many advantages that the 7 Evil Ex's will just the first basic enemies in any RPG game in the eyes of Ichiban. To quickly go over each ex and explain how he would win
Matthew Patel: Strong opening and he will be a bit of a challenge since he is the only one that hard rivals Gideon. Despite that, Scott with sheer fighting skills was able to best him and use his flaws against him. Ichiban can both do this and cripple him harder with stat debuffs, ailments, get a helping hand in summoning to rivals Matthew's Summons, and furthermore completely overwealm him with his own crazy abilities. Heck Matthew is nothing special to Ichiban, experience alone via fighting others with similar powers will just be a training routine for him.
Lucas Lee: He is sadly a pushover, all he has is raw power and his stunt devil's. Ichiban will sweep his ass with his own summons to rival the number stunt devils (not like this is an issue since he has fought several large groups of criminal organizations), and easily overpower him with his own skills, abilities, and arsenal. Lucas doesnt have any counters to his actual powers and RPG-like abilites, so he is just a sitting duck.
Todd Ingram: His psychic Powers genuinely will prove to be a struggle, being able to keep distance and use his abilities to simply throw around Ichiban, still he is outmatched. Todd lacks numbers, he lacks any defensive measures towards stat debuffs and cant stop stat buffs, he is going to have to fight more then one person because of Ichibans close bonds, so he really just has a slight strength advantage and to an extend, the powers Advantage, but Ichiban covers every other bases to kick his ass.. oh and about the argument regarding his Tetsuo looking attack, that is the most telegraphed attack i have ever seen, Ichiban and his friends will see this, see it keaves him extremely open, surround him and leave him no room to counteract.
Roxy Richer: she is best compared to other decently ranked Yakuza members, she is extremely skilled as she can handle both Scott and Ramona, although chances are Ramona will fight alongside Ichiban so the scenario mostly plays the same. She may be able to rival Ichiban in skill, but literally everything else is against her. The number disadvantage, lack of arsenal, stat changes, ailments, a whole bunch of RPG shenanigans, she doesnr stand much of a chance here with these obstables.
The Twins: Ichiban laughs in the face of these two. Robots? Been there before. Dragon summoning? *yawn* old news. Fighting with music? BOOOOORING! Nothing they have is new to Ichiban. He literally will have all his allies by his side, and completely outnumber them and disrupt any attempts in stopping Ichiban. These two are the second biggest pushovers
Gideon Graves: admittably the biggest challenge. His cunning and intelligence rivals his own strength and power. He is a formidable foe in this case. But the series makes it clear he was able to exploit scotts weaknesses to get the first win via rendering him weaker then normal and taking away everything he loves. Although i highly doubt he can do this with Ichiban. His friends are loyal to the end for him so he cant take them away, Ichiban is far more emotionally intelligent to be warped by his influence, and Ichiban already has an important sense of self-worth, so he isnt going to be manipulated either. This leaves Gideon with his strength and skill only, and by this point Ichiban will cover just about every base. He will have his friends fighting with him, and with Gideon being unable to counteract against Ichibans RPG-esqe abilites, he is doomed to lose. And the argument has already been made, but there is no way Gideon will have the money to buy out anythinf Ichiban has, the Yakuza is built different like that. ALL of that and funny enough, none of these Ex's can stop a satellite laser strike so they are literally all toast.
All of this, and i havent even mentioned Ichiban being able to easily talk the other ex's into joining him, as i said before he is emotionally intelligent, he gets the pain of struggle and can synpathize with the others, some may join him, others wont, but only a few is needed to drastically increase his odds of Victory. Gideon best dig his own grave here because the 7 ex's are short of nothing to Ichiban.

Alright, new GGM with new hosts to boot!!! I'm betting on Ichiban to clobber Gideon and his goons. He's an incredibly skilled fighter, and his experience in RPG mechanics should let him take the win. This scenario gets even worse for the exes if Ichibans friends get involved since they're also really skilled and similar in power, if not stronger. It was said the exes could possibly use their own revives and buffs, but no examples of this were brought up. Scott and his pals were able to do this, but we don't ever see the exes boost themselves. Plus, if push comes to shove, he can just drop a satellite laser on them. I didn't hear any counters to that happening. Anyone who can take on Kiryu and live can handle these guys. Nuff said.

OMG!!! Hiiiii Aqua Hiiiii Narrow, y'all hosts now that's rawesome
Anyway enough small talk to the big bucks, I think Ichiban Kasuga has this to be real. The 7 Exes are impressive and I do think Todd and Gideon will put up a good fight but, in the context of both stories and methods of approaching, the fact the exes probably won't jump Ichiban all at once and all the exes are nothing new at all the world of Yakuza, also as Narrow brought up even if the exes jumped him like the kids from FNAF 4 Ichiban has fought larger groups of people before and a guy with psychic powers and the G-Man isn't to far off from what already exists in the world of Yakuza.

I'm actually giving this to Ichiban, here. People have already said most of the reasons that Ichiban takes the win, so to be more interesting, let's take a look at how Ichiban and his friends could handle the Seven Evil Exes, shall we? *Insert Scott Pilgrim Battle theme Here*
*Matthew Pattel:* You make a good point, but there are some problems there. First and foremost, have you forgotten about attack items and element types? Pattel uses mostly fire attacks, so all they would have to do with that is use ice attacks or abilities that hit in a group. He does have guns and grenade launchers, after all. As for being overwhelmed by his demon hipster chicks? Poundmates or summon his Sujimon. His *Sujimancer* job should have various elemental attacks that should hit groups, not even mentioning knocking them out via sleep, paralyzing them, or poisoning them. Also, Ichiban was brought in as a consultant for Ichiban Confections, and that became Ichiban Holdings. A company that last I saw was in the *Top 3 Billion Dollar Companies*. Low stamina? Just drink a Staminan or eat a Luxury Lunch Box.
*Lucas Lee:* On the stunt doubles, see my previous point on Sujimon. As for Lee himself, Ichiban has experience dealing with actors and unruly content creators (See the Bony Kashiwa and "Walk With Me Samurai" substories). He could probably Lee in actual skill, and whatever he lacks, Adachi or Joon-gi Han could help him out.
Narrow Triangle has already made his point on the others better, so I'll just say my piece on Gideon.
*Gideon Graves:* Orbital Strike aside, I get the feeling Ichiban and friends will do just fine against Gideon. Why? Well, Gideon reminds me of Ryo Aoki (not just in appearance, but mentality), and people that have played "Like A Dragon" know how well he took when Ichiban and his friends brought his power crashing down. As seen in "Scott Pilgrim Takes Off", Goose doesn't take losing very well.

I think the biggest grey area here is Ichiban and what we allow him. I'd say there's 4 kinda classifications you can give him for rules, from least to most generous:
1- Just Ichiban. I'd say the only one he beats with certainty here is Roxy, I could also see him taking it against Lucas or Matthew but the rest take him no problem
2- Ichiban+3 party members. Not much changes here, he can beat all the ones he could before, but more handily. Also has a shot against the twins IMO
3- Every party member. I think he clears everyone but maybe Todd and Gideon. Todd has enough aoe capabilities and hax via mindreading to keep from being caught off guard so it's probably a fight of endurance.
4- Every party member+Poundmates. Full clears. Honestly I think if he gets poundmates in general he probably just clears given some like Majima

This ia one of the few GGM's that powerscaling kinda matters. Like nothing ive found in like a dragon can really scale to the likes of that moon punch Todd did. Also a lot of the points Ichiban has kinda gets invalidated by the Glow. All the progress he makes befriending the exs and turning them on his side would be reversed and including that the glow would also effect all of Ichiban's friends. Turning everyone against him. (Little thing the arguments with the status effects, would they actually work? Like in like a dragon its all in Ichiban's imagination so would that actually translate to him doing that IN the scott pilgrim verse?) So id say right now the seven evil exs just have too much for ichiban to deal with even the orbital laser probably won't do much with the higher tiers on the evil exs.

Ah yes, two series I'm pretty into. And involving a scaneario that I think can be pretty potentially interesting. That being said, assuming stats are equalized here, yeah I'm siding with Ichiban.
Now Lucas and Roxie aren't really gonna bring much of an issue here, considering both of them are fairly grounded and not something I'd imagine giving too much of a struggle for Icihban. And for as much as Matthew got a glow up in the anime series, that was mainly due to him getting a boost in confidence due to seemingly killing Scott, and as such in a situation like this, I'd imagine he'd be as much of a jobber as he is in the non-anime continuities. And the twins certainly have a lot on their side on paper, but their robots would go down just as easy to punching, and their own dragon summoning is something they only did during a battle of the bands with music equipment, so they couldn't really do it in a one on one fight like this.
Now Todd Ingram is proboably the most notable roadblock here, as it is true his power is rather versatile and weird. But, you know, he's kind of a fucking idiot. Not only does he tend to underestimate people and canonically only puts as much effort into fighting as he needs to, but he tends to not really be that creative in actually fighting with his powers, as he tends to just toss people around. So while I do think he can prove to be a notable threat, Ichiban would certainly be able to get around him or trick him into depowering himself eventually.
Finally, there is of course Gordon Goose. His control over Subspace is certainly powerful, and I could buy that giving him the chance to take down an unprepared opponent. However, Ichiban actually has the perfect way to be prepared, as not only has guys like Scott himself passively tapped into subspace, but Ramon herself is about as skilled in using it as Gideon, and she could help give Ichiban a chance to learn about it in advance. Now yeah, she didn't do that with Scott, but that's mainly because Scott's a lazy guy who didn't bother trying to learn about it. However, Ichiban is a lot more proactive, and he already could arguably get access to it thanks to the whole "imaginary to the point of making up an rpg" thing, so I could certainly see him taking a shine to the process.
This is a match where I could see quite a bit for either side depending on the interpretation, but yeah I do think Ichiban ultimately has what it takes to take the Exs down. Once they were vegones, but they will be gone.

Yada yada take off like a dragon when it’s infinite wealth vs the world
Obvious and terrible puns aside I feel like this is undoubtedly a win for Ichiban
Mostly because like, Scott beat the ex’s? Scott’s biggest claim to fight cred being that he is the best fighter in Toronto. Which, you know, good for him but idrk how high of a bar that really is against someone like Ichiban and Scott doesn’t really possess many unique things compared to Ichiban (ex: the swords/katanas both own). But going into more detail about the exes
Matthew- Idk why Aqua latches onto Matthew’s range options being a trump card when Scott (also a melee fighter) beat the crap out of him. “Well in the movie he defeats Matthew by throwing stuff at him” Ichiban uses random stuff all the time, why couldn’t he just use random stuff here? Also at 6:00 Aqua notes that Matthew was able to run Gideon’s business for a good bit, which I find funny to bring up given in the final episode of takes off, it’s revealed that Matthew lost billions while running the company
Lucas- Friends who can inflict status debuffs and the like go brrrrrrr
Todd- Aqua brings up that in the movie Todd is defeated via Scott getting non vegan coffee into his mouth due to very specific circumstances, which while true, I feel like that’s ignoring that in the comic Todd lost his vegan powers because he went out and ate non vegan items and brought to justice in the nick of time. Even then Ichiban’s host job gives him access to loads of sparkling beverages which he showers on his opponents, thus making them consume said beverages, one of these being sparkling wine. Which (from what I can see) doesn't say it’s vegan, which for those who don’t know, animal products are very popular to include in sparkling wine. So yes, Ichiban does actually have a way to stuff non vegan products down Todd’s throat.
Roxanne- Both debaters came to the same conclusion that Ichiban beats Roxanne, so it proves redundant for me to go into why Ichiban wins that one
The Twins- Friends who can inflict status debuffs and the like go brrrrrrr (again)
Gideon- As mentioned Ichiban has ways of reducing the effectiveness of Gideon’s sword, and he also has his own swords for some good old fashion swordplay. Also Ichiban’s sacrifice stones act in a similar way to 1ups, and he can even carry two at a time. There’s also the glow, which if Gideon uses this in his fight against Scott and Ramona and still couldn’t grab Gideon the win, why would it against a group of really close friends?
Which brings me to my ultimate point that Ichiban is overall just a better Scott pilgrim (both as a person and as a fighter), and we all know what happened when Scott fought the exes.
    And one more little thing
The shop- Not to sound rude, but why did Aqua bring this up? None of the evil exes seem to own/know these shops in the game or go to them in said game? These shops are also located in Canada, while the scenario makes it seem like this fight is taking place in Japan. The exes would just outright not have access to them in this scenario.
So sorry Aqua, but it’s simply just game over for the evil exes, as Ichiban takes the ichiwin!!!111!!!!

Alrighty this is very hard to chose....but in the end the Evil Exes wouldn't be enough to take down Ichiban and i shall Explain.
First off the fighting skill was very slept on for Ichiban since he was able to take on Martial Arts masters and even mother fucking Kazuma Kiryu. You know the guy who took down 2 tigers with no weapons, a Giagantic Grizzly Bear and has fought a 100 dudes and can learn new techniques from different martial arts masters. I think that skill is wayyyyyy more impressive than any skill the Exes have. And the idea of weapons ain't shit since he also fought Goro Majima who uses blades...hmmmmmmmm doesn't that sound familiar to 2 members of these wannabe league of villains. Hell he has fought Yosuke Tendo who has a similar build to Lucas Lee and the vegan soo he would have a good idea on those 2. Hell one of Lucas Lee weaknesses is Paparazzi soo Ichiban could just bring Paparazzi and bam... Lucas Lee delt with. And about the others. Roxie won't be much since she uses blades......Ichiban literally has the body Guard Drop that resist blades thus countering the blades soo Roxie would be the weakest member. and the idea about the twins summoning Dragons...idk if that would work as well since he has delt with dragons. and the twins robot won't be much since he's delt with robots before and yeah they have a giant one but let me ask you this. would a giant robot that got ripped apart by a normal sized human survive a goddamn orbital laser.....yeah i thought so. And the idea of the vegans strange arm move doing great against Ichiban and his Team... i don't see it working for 2 reasons one it only hits enemies Infront of Tod soo they could just move out of the way. and 2 it takes a couple of minutes before it turns back..... you see where i am going with this with this.. Ichiban would have a good amount of time to beat the crap out him. And then the idea that the Exes could get items that can heal themselves and even revive their own teammates......yeeeeaaaaaahhhhhhh no. This has only been used by Scott and his friends soo i don't think the exes would have this stuff. But what about Gideons Glow. well yes this would be very bad.....Ichiban has fought his own teammates soo i think this wouldn't affect him that much and also if he had to kill one of his friends if that happened he could just....revive them something that Ichiban has that the Exes do not. Hell the affect that ichiban has would greatly help him like the de buff which could be useful for Lucas and Tod since they are the most Tanky ones or even use the de buffs on the weaker member Roxie to make her wayyyyyy more easier. And now for my final argument. The idea that Ichiban can just talk this out with them. this is very good for Ichiban since not only he doesn't kill. But also the entire premise of Scott Pilgrim Takes off is Remona mending her relation ship with her Exes which...Ichiban is kind of great at, which gives him another way to win this...
But i ain't saying that The Exes don't have advantages. Since they still somewhat have the numbers of members over Ichiban and are more varied in powers but this wouldn't be enough to make Ichiban Give up for this new Beautiful Flower.

    Seven exes tbhtbh
There is seven exes and while ichiban has help its said in the series that scott needed to beat the exes himself so outside help for ichiban is unlikely to count on top of that the seven exes never do this in cannon but if all of them just jump ichiban he would be overwhelmed and they may think of this since they're all smart and could likely see the buff guy with an orbital laser and figure that they should all go at once or at least not give him many breaks and to top it off the orbital laser isnt as big of a win button against the exes and narrow is making it out to be since if ichiban were to be caught in the laser itself it would pretty much be a suicide move and pretty much all of the exes with like three exceptions fight up close so ichiban would have a tough time pressing that win button. Ultimately uhhhh this is my first comment idk how to end these so uhhh play neon white it's a good game

Well, that was a fun one.
I'm sorry Aqua but I think I've got to side with Narrow and Ichiban on this one.
You mentioned that Ichiban would have a rough time hitting Matthew due to his levitation but I don't think that would be the case, thanks to his multitude of ranged options from simple things like guns and rocket launchers to the electricity from his bats and any lightning or meteor strikes that he could summon with the fortuneteller class (which would also be able to cast the silence status effect, effectively removing any and all demon hipster chicks from the equation), so yeah he's not going to be stopped by the theatre kid.
Now while Todd and Lucas would certainly pose a challenge to the rock-bottom dragon, Ichi could always y'know debuff them (the status effects in : like a dragon and infinite wealth are very different from the equipable attributes in the Scott Pilgrim game as those can't affect the ex's stats and more-so serve as a way to boost the player's capabilities) and while on paper, Ichi can't do anything to get rid of Todd's vegan powers, he can summon a chicken with his phone so he could get the party to distract Tod and then force-feed him an egg or something I dunno.
As for the final member, I think Ichiban could easily cook this goose since he has several items that can cure the brainwash status effect in-game, and without that trump card, Gordan would just be a skilled sword-user and Ichi has fought tons of those.
I can't really come up with any other specific things Ichiban could do to counter one of the exes in particular so here's a bunch of things that would be generally useful against all of them: healing himself with food items or Hero’s Compassion/Hero’s Embrace/Peerless Resolve, reviving with the sacrifice stone or Nanba, forcing the league's souls to "the great beyond" with the devil rocker's essence of r.i.p move, draining their health with.. the devil rocker class, Intoxicating any of the exes with the host job, predicting the future with crystal balls (which would remove the element of surprise that you brought up), etc
So yeah, Ichiban's got a pretty solid chance of taking this dub

yah im pretty confident in ichiban taking this low diff
for one most of the evil exes aside from gordon and Todd have stuff that ichiban has fought before on a regular basis and those two outliers wouldnt be super out of place for josuke's best opponent but thats all stuff that was Brought up in the episode so heres something new that others will likely bring up: the fact that there's public info on almost every ex most of them are famous in some way meaning all ichiban has to do is look up their names and boom there ya go now he has full info on anything he could need meaning none of the exes would have the element of surprise while they likely wouldnt see stuff like a tornado or giant orbital laser coming also I just want to bring up that the ex's are still human and ichiban has access to weapons Scott rarely uses like baseball bats and swords yah wow Lucas has a bunch of guys to back him up not gunna be useful when he gets a concussion from a medal bat to the side of his head he can't say whatever to that ultimately this just isnt a fight the ex's would realistically win the only possible way they could win is if they all pull a jjk and jump ichiban when he's taking a shit or smth and just cause items exist in the Scott piglrim world that can match some things ichibans friends can do doesnt mean that the exes will use them cause they literally have never used them and im pretty sure a good portion arent vegan which means if used on Todd he is just a weaker dumber and more useless Lucas
tldr: rename this to "Scott pilgrim vs the world but Scott has better backup is smarter and has an orbital laser"
