You are absolutely spoiling us Dweezil. Your dad is one of my favorite guitarists of all time. This has all that Zappa mojo but with the virtuosity turned up to 11. Even with all that great music Frank made, you are still one of his greatest creations. Thanks brother.
Thank you! I have so much stuff in my vault from years of touring and TH-cam will be a good place to give everyone a taste of nearly 20 years of live performances. I'm glad you're enjoying it.
That was a true face-melter. It was getting wilder by the second then Scheila came in with the motif. Then you go fully sick! I felt the urge to clap at the end. Epic!
Dweezil could have chosen ANY kind of music to play, any flavor of rock and roll, bluegrass, jazz, country, any instrument, any genre...and he chose to stay true to the form his father took total ownership of. And I'm glad he did. We need this creativity and variety even if some of us don't listen to it every day.
This music is so incredibly *technically* demanding, I have a hard time comprehending the intensity of your rehearsals. Frank is looking down on all of this and enjoying it like we are. Thank you Dweezil!
WOW! I've seen Dweezil live 7 times since he started doing his Zappa plays Zappa concerts. After seeing this video, I have a feeling that the 2025 tour could be the best one yet. Can't wait for the show in Rochester, NY. Multiple displays of what's being played enhances the viewers understanding of the complexity of the music. Great job on the video editing.
I was at the St. Louis show at the Pageant. It was a fantastic musical experience start to finish. I will never forget the extra experience of getting to talk to you up onstage after the soundcheck and q and a. You were humble and patient with questions from the small group of us and very generous with your time. I even remember how encouraging you were to the younger kids there and telling them never stop playing music because it always rewards you for the work you put in. To be perfectly honest, I had been in such a rush to buy my ticket that I didn’t realize that the experience I paid for included that onstage conversation. I think you are an extraordinary musician Dweezil, but I was so impressed by how genuine a person you are. I’m still thinking about your playing that night. Thank you for sharing your musical gifts.
Amazing musicianship! I played in a cover band of your father's music. The most technically difficult musical experience of my life. But also the most rewarding. I felt I became a better guitarist for the effort. I've seen the Zappa by Zappa shows a few times. I saw the first ensemble with Vai and Bosio. What an awesome show! Keep up the good work!.@@thedweezilzappa
Dweezil going frickin crazy!!!!! Gotta say I've seen his dad (RIP) lin concert a number of times since the 70s and a lifelong fan but never have I seen Frank play guitar like that!!! Your dad himself would have been proud to put you on a pedestal above him as a guitar player after that amazing performance. I know I would if my son played better than I do.
Thank you. I like to give a visual representation of all the elements of the music in real time. It adds insight to he viewer who may not realize all of the layers happening at once.

Fantastic, and seeing the "Shut Up 'n Play Yer Guitar" guitar just brings back so many memories of staring at that album cover.... Thanks for what you do, Dweezil.
@@Ottophil I remember back to the "Does Humor Belong in Music?" Many of the guitar solos were either a zoom on FZ's face or a rocky/shaky shot of his right hand. I want to see the finger work.

Many thanks!!! You are uphelding a tradition of the greatest skilled music. I saw you live in Stockholm a few years ago (ft Mats Öberg) and your dad only 100 meters away in 1973 ( + some more times in other places in Stockholm). Your music makes a difference!
Amazing!! Baby Snakes was the first home video I ever bought. I played it to death. It's so wonderful to see Dweezil's magic hands tear it up!! Love you Dweez. Thanks for keeping Frank's music alive!
Dweezil thank you so much for this I saw u in Manchester England on the first Zappa plays Zappa tour totally blown away tears rolling down my face again thank you so
