I'm probably going to get in trouble for this, I did change the chassis on Apollo to a 5 mm chassis that I traced out and cut on my green 1500w CO2 laser CNC mill I also remade the drag race Concepts chassis out of 5 mm better traction more durable
I do like a thicker chassis. Imo controls resonance better so things are smoother. Less wear and tear!
I use old school ways all the time I'm just fortunate I manufacture race car parts or on Road 5th scale and 8th scale I had the opportunity to buy a CO2 green laser 1500 W machine so I did the cool thing about the new machine it can cut anything not for everybody though I had to spend $40,000 but it will pay itself off eventually LOL
I do all my layout and my first prototype part by hand the old school ways then I make a program off of that part and run it
I'm 56 years old going on 16 LOL if you want to go fast you got to put the time in and pay the money and know that you will have a crash you will have good days you will have bad days it's all part of the hobby with the speeds and etas were reaching today I don't know if we can make a car that won't damaged it crashes
Well William I believe next year we will see some definite changes we should split this up into Pro and amateur not everybody can afford to spend $3,000 on an RC car and I get it I'm just fortunate to have my own business my company's big base is windmill power and solar power and we build power plants so I manufacture a lot of parts for that industry as well I'm sure one day I will get caught writing off RC car parts on my taxes I will cross that bridge when I get there LOL

medium foams. just more consistent. if youre confident in your glue skills then air isnt a bad choice cause you can set the pressure. kind of get away with having just reds vs goldwss and silver in the bag

So I did couple weeks of testing running the three cars against each other same setups same controls same tires same bodies the only difference was the chassis bang for the buck drag race Concepts maxpak easiest of all three cars to get perform on a high level by far out of the three cars I tested the Apollo was the best performer but after everything I've got into it I'm at about 2450 dollars

We all love that chassis we just don't love the price for me it's a business write off so I don't give a flying f*** because come from the on-road racing world when you're racing eighth scale and Fifth Scale cars if you have to ask the price you shouldn't be racing
I'm one of those guys that I don't care what it cost if I want a cash days here or a good race down in this area it pays for itself
Yeah. I paid $800 + for the breakout and b6 doner kit last year so not so sure about this price point people are making. The value of the quality alone is fantastic.
I absolutely agree with the Chad unfortunately in the RC car world if you want to go fast it's going to cost money but I think I'm going back to 6061 T6 aluminum it's stronger more durable it has Flex in it which can allow you to get different traction adjustments and by mailing it out correctly I can get the weights exactly the same and the chassis doesn't break in half when you have a bad crash other small parts do which makes it affordable to repair

Yeah it's a miniature race car they're badass they just need to do something about the durability they don't perform well when you crash them into the curb or wall lol
$500-$600 to $2500-$3000, we’ve evolved alright lol. Nice chassis, but i won’t ever that’s just me… my nooner doesn’t just fine.

Thank you. Cars same price as last years car. Breakout was $800. DC1 is $700. Apollo will be $850. Testing been hard since it seems like always waiting on parts and we lost our daytime spot but I’m trying to fix that.
