Awesome riding by two champions of two different worlds. RV2 is my favorite, but I gotta say TC222 is very very impressive. In fact I'm a TC222 fan now as well. That was an awesome display of riding and sportsmanship between the two. I think RV2 is the toughest competitor TC222 has ever faced, and TC222 is the toughest competitor RV2 has ever faced. What a showdown this series is gonna be if nobody gets injured. I hope the best man wins whoever that is. Nagle, Desalle, and others are impressive too. They are right up there in the hunt no doubt. What the mxgp is going to prove is that the best from Europe and the best from the U.S. are very very close. No matter who wins the world title, I don't think it will be by much and it will go to the wire.
Same here another respect earned by TC222 but look at that traction put on the rear wheel by RV2 I think he have the edge. RV2s gonna retire after this season win or lose as he said. If he won this, TC222 should go to AMA motocross to redeem himself and the MXGP name.
I agree that RV has a slight edge on this track and some other tracks as long as nobody crashes, but there's Lommel and some other deep sand track where Cairoli will have the edge over Villopoto. Overall it's hard to say who has the edge. Villopoto is fast in sand and is practicing in it a lot, but I still don't think he'll beat Cairoli on deeper sand tracks. After watching MXoN, I don't think anybody.can beat Cairoli in that stuff except possibly Jeffrey Herlings. But Herlings is riding MX2 so it doesn't matter. Basically RV needs to win and get all the points he can on tracks where he has the edge so that he is ok when he's on the tracks that he doesn't have the edge. The harder dirt tracks are better for RV, but when they race on the harder dirt tracks in Europe it will be tougher as those are tracks Cairoli and the others have raced on many times. He's got some hard races ahead, but I still think he has a good shot at the title. It would be neat to see Cairoli in the U.S. outdoor series whether RV wins or loses, but he's always raced strictly in Europe and at his age I don't think he's gonna do it. It would be cool to see though. He's a really nice guy and good sportsman. If he came here I think I would be cheering my ass off for TC222 to win.
RV underestimated the Europeans a little I think. He needs to prepare more for the races and only worry about qualifying in the top 5. He needs to prepare for the track on race day where it's rougher and more rutted. He has speed to win, but not enough to win without a good start. They're all too fast. He can't afford bad starts. None of them can. They're too close. Whoever gets good starts consistently without crashing is going to win this thing. I think RV is realizing this and that he needs to get with it. We'll see if he does. For his first attempt at mxgp he's doing very well, but if he wants to be champion he's gonna have to execute perfectly. There's no room for error. My guess is that he thought there was room for error. There isnt. To win this he's gotta ride ultra fast, get good starts, and not crash. All three. I would guess that he's realizing it and will work on things. Nagle and Desalle are not flukes. They are real contenders and they're not going away. They don't look fast but they definitely are fast. The second race today was good and close at the end. RV can't do it with these mediocre starts. He's gotta fix that to have a shot.
Unbelievable how great shape these guys are to go that long at the speed. NO ONE really can comprehend , how much MX takes out of you. You body has to be in unbelievable shape, (100x more than swimmer, runners, soccer players,........). Great Race. I wish i could be there to see every race, and maybe do some riding after words:-) nice track. my kinda dirt.
Hey man that's great! I've become a fan of that big Russian Bobrishev myself. It's interesting to see a big heavy guy ride so fast and go hell bent to win. I'll be rooting for RV2 and the big fast Russian with you. Cheers to them both!

Great racing, great coverage. I miss seeing RV2 in the USA but much prefer seeing him on the world stage with all the other countries represented. Ryan, you make us proud and I hope you are welcomed everywhere just as we embrace Roczen and Musquin in Supercross. I just wish you weren't on a Japanese scooter, but they pay your bills. ☺
No disrespect, but RV2 didn't make me proud....I think he let us all down over here in the USA. I cheered and rooted for him but he performed poorly except for the one race that he won. The competition was more difficult than he expected and add the completely different circumstances and challenges of MXGP; he unfortunately failed. Then double failed by giving up and not returning after he recovered from his injury.
We have rediscovered our love for watching GP's this year through the qualifying races that have been posted without the planet's most boring man, Paul Malin having a conversation with himself in place of commentary
RV2 will only get stronger and I'm glad to see that TC222 and RV2 have mutual respect for each other. TC222 knows that it'll come down to him and RV2 in the end! Go RV2!!!

yes but he is everytime in the top 3 !! good starts doesnt means holeshot.. im not an RV2 fan but he got insane speed but also doing more mistakes than cairoli, clearly i think he can't win this mxgp, you cannot beat cairoli an dessale at home in 1 year
There should be another type of moto race, where it's fewer laps and around 8 or 6 riders. Also, why aren't there any elimination races? Unless there's one I don't know about.
I know Ryan is American but is he Italian in ethnicity Villipoto sounds Italian which is funny cause that means the 2 best riders are Italian in nationality
Still would of passed Caroli, admit it, RV was gaining on him easily. I like Caroli, but RV would of gone past him and flogged him. Have you heard Caroli say that once RV is ahead, there is no catching him.
