Day 5 asking Shorins to give us the knowledge needed to ignore the massive chest of popular street fighter protagonist "Ryu" and string our hits into a win.
There are some other archetypes that havnt been yet in Street Fighter 6 that I'm hoping would be dlc in the future. Such as:- 1. Menat - puppet character 2. Vega - stance character 3. Kolin - setplay character 4. Dan - joke character
This video was super helpful! I’m pretty new to fighting games, and I didn’t realize there were so many character types in Street Fighter 6. I’ve really been liking Akuma, and now I understand that he’s a good all-around character. The way you explained shotos, grapplers, and the other archetypes really made things clearer for me. I’m excited to try out what I learned in my next matches!
This is a very well made guide that balances its detail with its broad and easily accessible info, I appreciate the mention of sub-archetypes, and the good explanation of the Bully, since it is often clumped oddly into other types and ignored as being "Weird". Hope to see more of these awesome guides.
A lot of people will group in setplay/powerup and other things I would consider to be sub-archetypes with shoto, rushdown, and grappler. I think separating them into a different category is super helpful. JP and Kimberly are both setplay characters, but that doesn't tell you how they want to play neutral at all, and only refers to one specific aspect of the game.
I would say Ed also falls under the setplay subtyoe, due to his really strong Psycho Flicker and Kill Rush oki, topped off with great meaties and safe jumps after almost every conversion
@@Shorins22 I love him so much. I'm a diehard Ed player. Whiff Punishing and Okizeme are my 2 favorite things in fighting games. Ed was like a match made in heaven, since I decided not to get into SF6 until I got a boxer (I was hoping for Dudley. I got something I liked much better), and I've never been happier playing a fighting game
@@averysketchygamer3241 he’s so cool to watch! I main chun li, but I’ve played a bit of every character. Ed was one of the ones I definitely enjoyed most.

Really good way to classify the characters

@@averysketchygamer3241 Good point! His specials really enable some strong setplay, and he’s able to drain so much drive gauge off of a Safejump.

New upload already? Goddamn dude 🫡
Awesome vid !
What archetype is Deejay?
I’d say he’s a zoner who can also rush down pretty effectively. Some characters don’t really fit super well into any archetype.
he is called Hybrid
