It's so heartbreaking. She really had no choice but to leave. She was really turning into Madame Oh. If she stayed she would have always been used to hurt So and her baby probably would be killed. She left to protect So and the baby. He let her go because he was hurt that she loved Wood before and that he would look weak if he did not respect previous emperor's orders. In the end she had no regrets, she gave her all. He on the other side regretted her for the rest of his life. 😢💔
Expecting that this drama will end sad... so that when I watch the last ep.. I can prepare myselft from not crying..😢😢 But I think I can't do that... All the sad scene remain in my brain... And everytime I heard the ost of this drama... I cried automatically..😭😭 Best drama Ever... This drama gave me a roller coaster feeling... ☺
it is really the circumstances of their separation and the unspoken things that make this ending so heartbreaking and deeply sad .... they just had to be allowed to reunite in the 21st to see them finally happy together because they were Soulmates ... better worth late than never ...
Sorry, but i think that Haesoo didn't love him as much as WangSo. He respect her opinion about political problems, about relationships with brothers, he sacrifices his life and principles for her. Haesoo also sacrifice her life, her health for him, but she didn't trust him fully. When 3rd prince tried to catch the tenth prince and his wife, she could save them by trusting So. In the end she leaves him due to the death of a friend who was a spy, traitor and murderer of the first prince, it's so strange. Her sky-high dreams of world peace are too utopian. In reality, criminals need to be punished according to the law, no matter what bonds tied you. She reacted with understanding to the crimes of all her friends, but not WangSо's justice.When he wanted the long-awaited love of his mother for the first time in 25 years of his life, Soo didn't support him. Her ability to judge nobody, but So was beyond imaginable boundaries. As prince and as king, WangSo always did the right thing, it is a pity that she was not on his side when he needed love and support so badly.

Hae Soo had a mission to change Wang So's character and make him the Great Emperor. She did it. That's why she was transferred to the 10th century by help of Jimong. After completion of the task she returned back to her world. Yeah, so sad. It's better to experience love than not to love at all

She leaved him because of fake friend (not only fake, she was also a murderer) and utopian dreams. Soo always dreams about sentimental type of person, but she should understand that decisions that WangSo made was always fair. She find out that she is pregnant in Jung's house and then she decided to hide it. This solution was also unfair towards WangSo. He is father of the baby, he certainly wanted the birth of this child, that's why So have rights at least to know about it. Yes, palace is dangerous place, but why she thinks that WangSo wouldn't protect and love their only child. Once again she didn't believed in him.

She knew about pregnancy in the palace (it hasn't been shown in the movie) thus she wasn't surprized when Doctor announced about a baby in the Jung's house. Doctor said that he didn't know well right before leaving and she confirmed his conclusion with a nod. Yeah, agree with you, it's unfair to hide a baby from Wang So. But i think she did right. I can imagine if he knew, he wouldn't let her get marry with Jung and leave the palace. Then Hae Soo would anyway die and their baby might be harmed or injured by the Empress. She sacrificed with love to Wang So in order to save a baby. It's a huge sacrifice. Being the Emperor - you can't get everything you want. You have to sacrifice with something. So sad love story

Yes, empress is very cunning* and cruel, but WangSo is also very clever. And we shouldn't forget that he has throne. Haesoo thinks that everyone is more powerful than So, but in fact it's not true. I think WangSo would do everything to protect their daughter. The princesses do not inherit the throne, killing or harming her would be not only be pointless, but also the stupidest decision for a empress.
