kang ha neul has managed to portray the 8th prince wang wook beautifully.... "wang wook" a prince with his wings broken who would do anything for the sake of his loved ones whom he was hurt and disappointed by.
the way his character transformed from the selfless warm hearted prince to the ambitious for power prince amazes me, yet his misery was too deep.
[moon lovers' man "wang wook"] is the main reason i keep on watching this drama repeatedly.
i can't even imagine any other actor playing that role.
words can't be enough of how much i was moved by wook.

The scene when Soo left the palace ang Wook screams her name,ugh!😭.He loves her.He is torn between his responsibility with his family and his love with Hae Soo.He tried his best,probably Soo is one of his reasons why he got obsessed to the throne.Its the ambitous Yeon Hwa that I really hate.
yeonhwa and queen yo are the devils .. wook was never a bad guy. he didn't want the throne all he wanted is to see his family safe and to bewith his loved one "hae soo"

hoping on the season 2 they give chance for hae soo and wook's love....they truly love each other...I was really move by the character of haneul he was a great actor..love him so much...i will be 4ever soowook fan...It was so frustrating that it ended that way for the two of them...It breaks my heart that until now moving on is so har to do..
I really don't understand how everyone adores the obsessive and sometimes so cruel Wang so (don't get me wrong, I feel a lot for his character), but then blindly hate Wang Wook, when all he wanted was to love and protect the ones that are most important to him. Just because you ship SoSoo doesn't mean you have to despise Wook. His character was doomed right from the start, but he could never stop fighting for his love. You guys don't understand how much I was moved by him and his story. Ep11, when Court Lady Oh died and Wook turned his back on Soo, because he couldn't help her was such a heart wrenching scene, I cannot recall the last time I cried that much. Even if he would've sat next to her instead of So, he probably would've lost everything dear to him. All I really wanted was for Wook to be happy and loved, but this Drama took my wish and not only shredded it to pieces, but also stepped on it with it's bare feet. I don't know, how I can ever recover from this story.
Sophia Ha he did nithing wrong by turning his back on hae soo i would do the same if i was in his place and also nothing wrong in having ambition for throne BUT it was his backstabbing nature everyone bashing yeonhwa but wang wook was the one who told her that he wanted that he has a seat waiting for him. he gave her the indication he planted the bug in her head that he wants throne but when she plans and lays schemes schemes later he says i just want hae soo then what about alk the risks she took. blaming his mother who was concerned for his safety any mother would not let her child go to the rescue of woman who is considered a traitor it was no way the mother was to be blamed. yes he does not love his wife but in no way should say to your one wife that you are finding other woman interesting and with eyes full of love. in ep 3 itself he showed his double faced nature when he asked others to treat wang so equally but when they are alone warned him " look nothing here belongs to you neither yeon hwa nor hae soo they are all mine" that was completely double faced sorry. i understand about hae soo may be he loved her so he said that by why say that about yeonhwa he himself married wang euns sister lady hae so there was nothing wrong if she married wang so. it shows how double standard and show off he was

Do you remember when the astronomer said " Yo ,the third prince was not supposed to be the king ,I think something going on " it was all because of wook because he was planning for all the plans behind in order to get in power. The reason for this was because after the rain ritual hae soo kept on saying him to be careful of Wang so and he thought he might lose everything , he wanted power to support his family to be good . if I was in his shoe ,or if wang so was in his shoe ,he or even I or you would have done the same...he did cared for his wife but their marriage was because of family and power ,he just adore her ,he take care of her ,when she told him to marry another ,did he agree ? No .did he said anything to her because she can't bear a child ? No .did he told Wang so " nothing believe to him ,neither so or yeon " always ? No he told because Wang so was saying " so belong to him " .come on stop this Sooxso if Wang so was really a perfect guy for soo then I bet the story had not ended that why .Wang so told hae soo mean things when he knew about wook and hae soo relation .at first place it was ridiculous to fall in love with Wang so ? It was sad hae soo give up easily on wook ? Wook always repeated that hae soo told him to be aware Wang so .
Wook loved her selflessly and Jung too love her selflessly but I thing Wang so loved her just because she was first one to be kind to him ,not scared of his scar ,that's all

Because wook thinks Wang so is not worthy of being called a royal and thinks Wang so is not worthy of marrying a royal because he thinks wang so is lowly and not worthy. only after seeing his father's support to Wang so specially how his father chose and pushed Wang so for ceremony then he thought Wang so was not a low worthless monster but someone his father secretly admired. Ok so you don't love your wife you married her because of family. You treated her with respect. so is it okay to say to her face that you find her sister amusing and adorable and also are getting fond of her??? Where the hell was respect for your wife. At that moment what do you think his wife felt Seeing the love in her husbands eyes ? In her last and painful days she saw the love in his eyes but for her sister???? What ever he feels it is not right to say that to your kind wife.keep it to yourself man at least out of respect to her. Just like you people see a possessive and obsessive Wang so many people see the two faced wook.
Wook chose to believe one sentence of hae soo who he fell for few months back and doubt a blood brother like Wang so. He could have solved everything by saying to hae soo "no Wang so is a good person and my brother he will never harm his brothers and family he will go to any extent to protect us" Easy way to calm hae soo but he dint .Why? Because he realised that Wang so whom he believed to be trash and not worthy of his sister yeonhwa was actually very much favoured by the king .

credits to kang ha neul.. he's a good actor. and he portrays his role.. effectively. soft hearted and villain afterwards.. the chemistry between wang wook and hae soo.. is sweet and full of caring.. i hope someday ..kang ha neul and IU will have their own drama or movie..

yes, he is an excellent actor, his representation of the wook is impeccable, you can feel the conflict of the character.
besides, I watched the kdrama when the camelia bloms and he plays yong sik, which is the very opposite of the wook, being a very kind guy who fights for what he wants, and wow, I watched and looked like someone else in relation to the wook, he interpreted it so well that in my view they are two totally different people. The posture, facial expressions, the way he speaks, it seems that kang ha neul embodies the character in a very intense way because for me I did not see kang ha neul variables in kdramas, but totally different characters

*Whenever I think about MLSHR, The 8th prince is the first thing that comes to my mind .. I think the character of Wang Wook is one of the characters that deserved to get more attention and love. Kang Ha Neul gave his best to portray the pain of this prince which is really difficult to do so I'm really so proud of him. Wang Wook was caught between his family and his love and he didn't get encouragement and support from anyone, he always felt paralysed and unable to do anything without power. So he tried his best but luck wasn't beside him. This is why he sacrificed his love and he turned into someone who's totally different from the real him. And one of the reasons behind this changement was when HaeSoo was super afraid about the 4th prince when he got poisoned and u can see that from Wook's reaction when he let go of her hands. Anyway Wook is a character that needs to be more understood rather than hated. His real true self is super soft and caring. I hope I'll get the chance to see HaNeul and IU working together as leads 'cause their chemistry is so magical* #TeamWookAlways

I seriously can't understand why haesoo just give up on wook for wanting the crown so much.. even saying wook actually really wants the throne.. when after being thrown left and right, being powerless, losing his first beloved wife,, wook finally found haesoo and wants power to protect her... why let go of this guy?.. haesoo even let so near her,, letting so make his moves towards her thus making wook more insecure and haesoo becoming the real betrayal of their relationship.. I seriously stop watching midway thru this drama knowing they are turning such a nice guy into a bad person yet no one seems to care except us fans..

Haesoo already cheated with him by letting Wang So kissing her and treating her as his woman while meeting Wook at night secretly, though Wang So won't let her finish the talk whenever he is asking her who was her love one, she didn't even told him about Wang Wook even if she had so much chance.

Despite everything that wench YeonHwa did, there's this one thing she made it right. I so loved that scene when she confronted Soo, "I was the one who pressured Wook but you hammered in the nail". Damn... that scene got me big time. I wanted to understand and dislike Soo for a second too just like what others said that she didn't understand Wook's actions for her but Yeonhwa did it for me. I loved how she told her that she might have done bad things and pushed her brother Wook to its limits but Soo added salt to Wook's wounds. It's for once, Yeonhwa realizes it. She knew how evil she was for her brother's happiness but she's well aware on how Soo made her brother's world collapse too. She confronted her (Soo) how her brother has serious and deep feelings for her (Soo) yet she chose another man (Wang So) over him. The plot and characters were very well-thought. DAEBAK!

I think her hold on her brother is the fact that she can mess up anything if her brother does something she dislikes. Yeonhwa knows her brother cannot turn his back on her and their family so she continuously manipulates him. That selfish princess really!

I just Love Wook. I felt so touch with his love story with Soo, that never like Prince So. For me he was selfish and evil. But Wook was charming and sweet, he melts my heart with that smile.
Kang Ha Neul is one of the best actor! he potrays Wook so well. Wook actually is the most pitiful of all princes, He had to sacrifice his love, because of his family and his situation.
He fulfilled his promise to Soo in the end. He just love his family who even betrayed him. He's so kind & endured all the pain.

I do not think he made mistakes. He tried to protect his family and his girlfriend, at all costs, even if it meant staying alone. Impressive the interplay of this Actor, he looks noble and his facial expression changed at the end of the story, it seems even a person who suffered a great loss. Words are missing for so many compliments.
At the end of the day, he only gets to choose one and he decided to protect his family, which is perfectly understandable. But in doing that, he loses Hae Soo to Wang So.
This video was amazing, just like Wook. It makes me really happy to see that not everyone hated him. I felt like everyone misunderstood him and never saw how much it took of him to become who people wanted him to become. I love Haneul so much and this role was so so so brilliantly portraid by him. I go back to his scenes still because I was so touched by him. Thank you for this video!

nah. No matter how much pain their story brought me, I was actually satisfied with the ending. You dont always end up with the one you love- thats the reality of it. That sometimes loving someone isnt enough. That no matter how hard you try, how much give and sacrifice, you still end up losing it. It was beautifully tragic. *sighs* Goodness! We arent even talking about Wang Jung yet and how the actor JiSoo is still the not-so-lucky-guy in his dramas. Fucking hell! This is depressing. Anyway, i still stand firm that Season 2 is unesecessary. What would be the plot? she'd probably end up with King So if there is one. They dont need to meet up in her present time, what they is another story. Another drama. The producers shouldnt waste their chemisty.

Actually their love story is so unfortunate, we all know Wook loved and adored her so much but somehow because of that love, he couldn't forgive himself for not doing anything when she needs him the most. So he tried his very best not to screw up again even if it means losing somebody else. Its just tragic. 😭 You see, Relationship doesn't only require love, it is more than that.

Excellent tribute to describe Prince Wang Wook. He was right about himself. He continued to make mistakes however he realized them only when they were too late. His wife, whom endlessly loving him, Hae Soo, whom needs certain affection, or even the throne, Prince Wook could not make the right decisions on the right time to them. Doubtful and less courageous thus made him being left several steps behind the other princes, especially compared to Wang So. Remorse and loneliness always come late. Nevertheless Kang Ha neul has remarkably portrayed this character, made Prince Wook a memorable awesome figure, despite his miserable journey of life.

I keep on watching all clips of moon lovers but his character only makes me to feel a lot. Without my knowledge tears came out. Whether he is good r bad, I like him a lotttttt.

This video just made me tear up all over again 😭 Prince Wook 😭 The most tragic character of SHR in my opinion. He loved, he tried to protect....but at the end was left with nothing! It's been months since I finished SHR, but still can't get over this man. Still I search videos on him & Wook x Soo couple, watch them & cry for hours all over again 😭😭
For whole episode that i watched in this series i only wished for soo and wook. Tbh i sympathise with 4th prince who faced so many hard things in his life. But wook's character was powerful and really filled with tragedies. He had to make choices that he didn't wanted to and it needs lot of understanding. I feel its a bit cruel on him since the beginning.

I was rewatching the drama and couldn't help but to think that wang wook's story is the most moving story ever. and he wasn't even appreciated by the fans, so I wanted to do something as you said to show the story from his point of view. that's what I tried to do . and thank you again ^_*
Wook's story was moving, but the second half of the drama sort of faded him out as well and when we do see him it was too short...I really wanted him to do a little more to show that he did try to fight for Soo back though. lol The intensity between the male fighting for Soo affection having known that they are love rival really lacked.
Kang ha Neul fans appreciated him and there's no doubt that he have gained fans from his role too. It's the non fans that really hating his character.
This video is probably one of you best so far, keep up the amazing work. It have a strong appeal message of truth that most viewers don't try to understand about him. :D

im a big admirer of kang ha neul from misaeng and i liked him even more in scarlet and the reason is he was showing simple yet meaningful expressions of his ambition for throne from episode 4 and 8 and it was only visible to people who actually carefully saw his pitch of voice while talking in some situations and his expressions in some situations specially in ep 4 and 8. that showes that he is amethod actor. his ambition for throne and his dissapointment yet approval that wang so did the rain ritual was amazing when he talked to his sister.he is different from these some newbie actors who become famous for just giggling and flirting with girls and giggling and sheding tears. dont see it just a simple regular second lead character in k drama land who was an angel but lost everything while he was trying to protect his family he showed much more than that.lee joon gi as well as kang ha neul are famous for portaying unique and wierd characters

I have just finished this drama for the second time and love it through all the tears. All the actors were fabulous and they made you feel their story. In the US if there was a story so well received there would definitely be a second one. It is amazing that the actors are all so multitalented. They act wonderfully, they sing, they rap and they dance. Awesome ambassadors for South Korea. Thank you for this gift.

People say this drama is traumatic and heart wrenching.. I mean ya it is but I did actually tolerated it well and coped with it but I was wrong until I saw that ending scene where Baek Ah tells Wang So "Our 8th brother has passed away'' this mere line shattered me into pieces.. I don't know why but I loved Wang wook the most and seeing him miserable at the end and then the way baek ah said that he "passed away"... good lord...!! As i watched the episode back to back, i know it was because of prince wook that soo overcame obstacles and desire to live again. He was like a guide to her. However when things progressed over time, they drifted apart. They start together but lose one another. I really rooted for them to be together. Prince wook was a very nice humble guy who thought being king could help him do anything. Unfortunately or fortunately, prince wook was not manipulative and calculating like others, thus he lost any chances. I pity prince wook

i havent watched many dramas of Kang Ha Neul but in this drama...he was one who had suffered a lot 😭😭😭 lost his wife realised her love...he didnt get HaeSoo..didnt get the throne was exiled and only got sadness...Haneul acted so well in this drama that he is my fav actor...no doubt he got Acting Excellence Award 😍😍😍😍😍
