    Thanks for everything you do.
All my adult children are foragers, and we share all your videos back and forth.
On a side note, we use a vita-mixblender for reishi it does a much better job. As an added bonus it heats as it blends.

Thank you! Last year I found a HUGE OG reshi but without the knowledge on how to process it, I didn’t forage it and just admired the two foot wide conk. This year the same stump has produced three young OGs! I’ve been keeping a close eye on them and watching them grow. I’m definitely now ready to forage them!

Over in Washington Park on Fidalgo Island the mushrooms going crazy at present. what may be white chantarelles are as big as desert plates but fading now.
I didn't know the Reishis don't just stay around all the time as other shelf mushrooms seem to do. Glad to learn about processing those.
I've been enjoying your efforts for 3 seasons now, and thank you.

PNW resident here: the one time i harvested reishi, i wish i took it home and processed it within a 24hr period. I had it in my car while camping (big dinner plate sized) and it was heating up like if it were fermenting. When i processed it at home 2 days later it smelled and there were parts that began molding or something. I had to cut those parts out and the rest like Aaron in the video, use dat elbow grease. Turned out great soaked in mason jars of costco tequila and costco vodka, fun drinking with friends lol
ALSO, if you shine a black light on reishi's glossy surface, the RED looks like the GREEN teenage mutant ninja turtles from the 90's movies!
    Thanks Aaron! Mush love!

For alcohol soak i dried out the slices first in the oven until they were crispy. And in the mason jars I didn't start drinking any of them until at least 3 months later, flipping them upside down and again intermittently throughout that period

Thank you! Big fan of this video style of processing different fungi - maybe do a lion's mane next? Not sure if your cleaning process is any similar to cauliflower mushroom (if they are particularly dirty).

Love these types of videos Aaron great work! I have only found a handful of G. Organense here in Norcal but they are always ancient and too far gone to bring home. Hoping for better luck this season, I've been researching locations on iNat to improve my chances.

I was able to get a fine brown powder by separating the pores from conk of dehydrated slices, then coffee grinding those pores. A bit extra work but such a different end product

Ganoderma Applanatum is more locally available here in the North of Ireland I love that every mushroom has compounds special to itself and most of them unknown to science and unknown effects on the human body. I dry it at 60c and powered/turn to fluff lol in a coffee grinder and soak 6hrs in about 80c nice mushroom tea

Keep up the good work... also note.... there is a young man doing a mushroom YT cannel I believe called Mushroom Trails that does very good work and local to you... Maybe set up a collaboration with him... I assume you know the guy...would be a very good pairing I feel...plus his channel could use the boost ....

So can it be just dried after picking and used or does it need to be boiled/steamed first? And is boiling or steaming ok if one doesn't have a pressure cooker? Any idea how long to boil/steam?
Thanks very much! Sub'd and looking forward to watching more!

    • @mushroomwonderland1
      @mushroomwonderland1  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

@@wingnutbert9685 Yeah they could definitely be dried first, and simmering for a couple/few of hours is supposedly equivalent to an hour in the pressure cooker.

What’s the ratio of powder per serving? I passed up so many earlier in the year and once I saw this vid a couple of weeks ago I decided to give it a try. So many were rotten, but I found a great one today and it’s in the instant pot now.
