I love your choices! I also love the game '10' mentioned in a comment below.

Nice to see some games I never heard of. Another good one is port royal. Not played mystic vale , but the idea sounds similar.

    Favorite games with push-your-luck:
    1) Imhotep (the push your luck spread out through the round as social tension)
    2) SPOTS! (dice mitigation makes you feel smart)
    3) Coloretto (negative points for everyone, just the question how many, how often, and how much of the same?)
    4) TEN (cool system with addition and substraction, that in and of itself is fun)
    5) Kodachi (here one is lead to play to avoid pushing your luck by planing and preparing for playing it save, but sometimes you still have to push it because you just need a certain thing to complete your plan)
    6) Canopy (digging the piles and incentive building is just fun)
    7) Port Royal (always interested to see how differently different people approach this)
    8) Sea Salt Paper (push your luck inbetween players)

Excellent list! I’ll be adding a couple of these to the “need to play” list.

Good recommendations...but as my mother was fond of telling younger, over-enthusiastic me: "I can hear you..." (accompanied by a meaningful look) I'd also add No Thanks, Strike, and Spots as good candidates for this list.
