This is how you tell a story! So honest, natural and refreshing! I watched the whole thing with a smile on my face. No artificial drama, scripted lines, no stupid music to increase tension... I was finally able to see something un American! Can't wait to get the time to watch all the other ones too. Great shots of riding, and very educational about how things work in a rally and just a happy journey all together as things like this are meant to be. Lyndon seems like such a great guy, I was constantly cheering for him not to give up! And Basil of course!
A big thank you (everybody) for putting this together, what a film! Lyndon I've gotta respect that you had the presence of mind to turn on the camera and shoot some footage on what must have been an intensely frustrating couple days. Good on you for persevering, making the best of it, and getting those performances at the end. Big time props to you!
Really strange how few likes this video has, I'm an avid you tuber that just loves real stories, made by real people in a way just like life is. This is one of those videos, you can feel all the hardships and curve balls, you can be the most meticulous person on the world but that just takes you so far, the randomness is prolific. Congratulations Lyndon Poskitt and adventurespec for bringing this wonderful and ultra inspiring piece of someones life. Luis Cunha from Portugal.
Watched the whole episode and very impressed with Lyndon's attitude, determination, mechanical skills to inventively deal with the situation at hand and, of course, off-road riding ability! He had me shaking my head "No, don't take that line at that speed, you'll crash" -- but he did anyway. He's the Moto MacGyver! A note on the Rally: for being an International event with a not-insignificant entry fee, one would think they would have someone(s) on staff who would speak the major languages fluently to avoid the situation Lyndon endured. Thanks for compiling such an intriguing video series!
I've been enjoying this series but I just had to say that the story of your (Poskitt's) perseverance in this event is an inspiration. Congratulations and thanks for sharing!
I like the way you ride. It's rare to see somebody who is smart and fast. Your courage is obviously tempered with experience. I too love to pull the throttle wide open in the desert. The fact that you do your own work is also impressive.
Very good man, rider! Nice show with amazing camera work and montage. Really inspiring your way of handling troubles during your adventure! So impressed by you, Lyndon! Care yourself and continue your Way! Respect from Russia!
Great rally Lyndon after dealing with so much trouble early on. Outstanding perseverance for sure. It's really inspiring to watch your adventure and be planning for a modest one of my own. Keep up the good work!
It's in Japanese Lyndon. The organiser (SSER) is based just over the mountains from me in Shikoku, southern Japan. I always fail SSER scrutineering, even though I can read Japanese!
Awesome stuff. Great sportsmanship to carry on through those first 5 stages of hardship. Well done on a great Rally. Really enjoyed watching your movie. Thank you for sharing. l
Must visit Yorkshire sometime. They do seem to breed them a certain way up there. Flintoff, Milner and now Poskitt to name but three. All Top lads. You are an inspiration my friend and you deserve all the accolades you get. Great work AS also, another great piece of work guys. YNWA
Around 4:00, the guy keeps saying, "I'm totally exhausted," and all I can think is STOP. Look at your surroundings! What a great adventure, regardless!
Im seeing this for the 1st time in 2020. Hope the world can get control of this corona virus soon. It is way past time for the world to put aside their differences and to fight our common enemy so adventures like this one can begin again !
This is amazing determination and riding and a really good watch. Thanks guys Does anyone know the name of the song and the band for the music that starts at 1:17:44
Question, from a street rider who wants to get into dirt... Why not get a tubeless tire conversion kit? Would make punctures suuuuuper easy, and can't you safely deflate your tires to like 20psi without tubes?
Adventurespec, I noticed you don't have a center stand. I want to avoid buying a center stand for changing tires. What are those mechanisms you put on your bike to keep it upright???
Pretty epic my BSA would last longer, 34 years and 160+ thousand miles and many a rebuild. Great determination man but is there a spare tire slasher rim? I stuffed straw in flat tires many years back to get the 441 home. -441rider
13:20 It can be really scary when you got gas on board that could blow up mid flight. I once had a camp gas cannister on board in the cargo hold which I had not declared. Customs got mighty pissed when they found it later. But just like he did I too waited all the time for the plane to blow up. Also I just wanted to say Lyndon does look a bit like Genghis Khan doesn't anyone think ? But he needs to grow the hair a bit. I like the long hair better.
hey how to get entry into this mongolian rally? i mean how join? is there any web site? plz give it - - thank u = and is there any limitation about engene powr like maximum 500 cc or some thing like that ?
I don't know if there is a side, but Google knows almost everything. Normally on international rallys most have something like 450 ccm as a maximum, but basil is a KTM 690, so probably theres no limit at the rally mongolia or they made an exception. So if you really want to rally, you probably have to build up a 450 ccm bike or buy one.
They are like a pre-inflated inner tube but filled with foam rather than air. They are more expensive than tubes and very difficult to fit as there is no valve to let them down. The foam breaks down if they get too hot so they don't work well at higher speeds on the road but they are good for off road racing as they don't suffer from punctures
I have been watching a lot of lyndon recently and watching him get pissed at that Mousse, while I am sure annoying and a pain in the arse, the entertainment was top notch. Also the saltyness when saying he cannot accept help to the guys in the land cruiser was fantastic.
When the narrator of this film talks, in certain cases his voice trails off in volume. It's difficult to follow such diction. Better keep it even, like the bikes on the roads.
Wow nice vid , , I am confused that Lyndon (as extremely world travelled as he is) seemed actually shocked by the theft of the Leatherman. IMO, leaving an item like that hanging on your bike anywhere in the world, you may as well hang a sign on it saying "for free please take" . Perhaps I am being cynical, but I just expect there to be dishonest people lurking everywhere, IMO it is only luck if you don't encounter them.., beware peeps and don't make it too easy for yourself to get ripped off.
If there was other English speaking riders in the rally, why would they just assume it was Lyndon getting illegal help from that guy? Sure he must have spoken to other riders to?
salisburyplain998 More that a bit harsh on the Golden Tyre. It would be more accurate to say that you shouldn't start a rally on mousses that have already travelled several thousand miles. The tyre only had issues because the mousse broke down, as would any tyre that was run at high speed completely flat.
salisburyplain998 Normally you wouldn't. I'm not sure if it was this video or the other one about the prep for the race, but in one of them Lyndon did say that he chose not to use fresh mousses because of the cost of getting them shipped.
would seem very stupid to skimp on mousses but its not the first I have heard of golden tire mousses and tires failing in extreme conditions but fitting an old mousse is crazy and asking for trouble no matter what tire is fitted
thanks to this guy I'm working on doing a rally myself!
This is how you tell a story! So honest, natural and refreshing! I watched the whole thing with a smile on my face. No artificial drama, scripted lines, no stupid music to increase tension... Epic, I watched the whole thing. Great job AS for putting video together, big respect goes out to Lyndon from me!
How awesome to see you here, nutn - Been a long time subscriber of yours!

Jeez ... man ... fail after fail after fail and you keep your mind positive and your spirits up ... so inspiring.

LusoCMD any other recommendations? I've only recently found these videos. Watching through them all.
Watched the whole episode and very impressed with Lyndon's attitude, determination, mechanical skills to inventively deal with the situation at hand and, of course, off-road riding ability! What an epic adventure. Congrats Lyndon!
I like the way you ride. It's rare to see somebody who is smart and fast. Your courage is obviously tempered with experience. I too love to pull the throttle wide open in the desert. The fact that you do your own work is also impressive.

Awesome! Thanks for adding the bit with the price of shipping your bike from Magadan to Vladivostok.
Great rally Lyndon after dealing with so much trouble early on. Outstanding perseverance for sure. It's really inspiring to watch your adventure and be planning for a modest one of my own. Keep up the good work!
Great Editing. Great Adventure and looks like a great Bloke as well. Thanks for sharing your adventure with us and the effort that were put into this.
Awesome recap and finish of what started out as a major headache!
What a champion. Never give up.
It's in Japanese Lyndon. The organiser (SSER) is based just over the mountains from me in Shikoku, southern Japan. I always fail SSER scrutineering, even though I can read Japanese!
This story is purely inspirational. Well done!
Awesome stuff. Great sportsmanship to carry on through those first 5 stages of hardship. Well done on a great Rally. Really enjoyed watching your movie. Thank you for sharing. l
Great vid! Thanks for filming it and all the hard work making it into something very watchable.
Excellent viewing having watched a few of the previous clips this one should get an airing on normal TV
All the skills and expertise . . . but most of all the right attitude made it all the better to watch the whole Video.
Absolutely I would be interested in seeing the Baja Rally footage.
Fantastic documentary...thanks for sharing, Good Luck and all the best for the future!

Im seeing this for the 1st time in 2020. Hope the world can get control of this corona virus soon. It is way past time for the world to put aside their differences and to fight our common enemy so adventures like this one can begin again !

This is amazing determination and riding and a really good watch. Thanks guys
Does anyone know the name of the song and the band for the music that starts at 1:17:44
Loved that...great video!
Is that an oil cooler up near headlights 9:53? And two radiator guards. Are oil coolers common on rally bikes
Great story! Well done.

Thats an amazing story!

That black cars is not a range rover. It's a custom built rally Reid (Dakar) car called Oscar and it's built in Latvia!
Great video thank you.
Dude Safety wire!! We Roadracers have to wire everything it seems. Great vid and thanks!!
Why lock the video, some us want to download and watch on our TV as opposed to sitting in front of the PC for 1.5 hours?
Awesome brief!
Pretty epic my BSA would last longer, 34 years and 160+ thousand miles and many a rebuild. Great determination man but is there a spare tire slasher rim?
I stuffed straw in flat tires many years back to get the 441 home. -441rider
wow an hour and a half later... what time is it? great video!
Outstanding!!!
right enjoyed that...thanks

Yamaha XT 660 R
YAMAHA XT660Z
DRZ400
Honda xr400
Suzuki DR650
KLR 650
***** I have a KLR 650, unbeatable
Really impressive!!
This is man and machine at its finest.
That...was epic!

Awesome legend !
I wish I could find more raw onboard footage

What bike is that. I somehow missed that. lol thanks
Can someone tell me what a muse/moose is?
instead of having air in the tube the rally riders fill it with moose so that they dont get punctures easily. it is special for motorbikes.
Iain Ross elias2476 ohhhhh ok
thanks for the explanation. I was wondering what they are as well
DIRT HERO. unbelievable determination.
Amazing!!
I bet Lyndon's negotiation went something like "this is all going on youtube, do you really want 250,000+ people to know that you're a knob?" lol
What bike is that?
So cool !!!
Loving these videos, but what''s happening to Lyndon's English accent.
great perseverence
I have been watching a lot of lyndon recently and watching him get pissed at that Mousse, while I am sure annoying and a pain in the arse, the entertainment was top notch. Also the saltyness when saying he cannot accept help to the guys in the land cruiser was fantastic.
47:58 that's scary going through a herd.
How come the police wouldn't let You in the horse race?????
So great... thank you!!!
When the narrator of this film talks, in certain cases his voice trails off in volume. It's difficult to follow such diction. Better keep it even, like the bikes on the roads.
did lyndon use the golden tyre in the rally? maybe not the best episode to mention your tire sponsor. what with all the puctures and all.
Wow nice vid , , I am confused that Lyndon (as extremely world travelled as he is) seemed actually shocked by the theft of the Leatherman. IMO, leaving an item like that hanging on your bike anywhere in the world, you may as well hang a sign on it saying "for free please take" .

hi
kewl!
now i know what determination means..
These mawphukas use to rule the world
wow
You should run a sheep over & take the bones out then rap it round the back tyre, it realy works good :)
i dont think politically it would look very good for a foreigner tp beat their own very popular riders
