Wow! Great camping desert for my Coleman oven. My hind sight thought is using my beer pint glass, sprayed of course to depress the dough. I will give it a go. One time with my oven, I flattened my PB biscuits, sprayed my enamel bowls, added my pb dough, my chicken pot pie filling, and another layer of pb dough on top. In the filling I added a little Sriracha. They were perfect and tasty! Thank you for the idea! Looks great!

Using refrigerator cinnamon rolls and canned apple pie would be a really quick dessert but full of chemicals and preservatives. I’m going to use my Amish cinnamon roll recipe and make some apple pie filling and try this. I bet you could freeze them raw and just take what you needed out of the freezer for a quick dessert. Next time, if you insist on making this thing again, simply roll out the dough to make a bigger disc to come up the sides of the muffin tin and hold your filling. Anyone that's ever made these tube things knows that you must let them cool before you apply the icing or it will just melt. Pretty lame overall.

I would add a bit of butter on top of the apples, sprinkle with a brown sugar and apple pie spice mixture. Yummy

I cooked my filling and added nutmeg, butter, vanilla flavor and a little sugar. I like my apples to melt in my mouth.

It was always easier to either roll the rolls out, or just flatten them with the palm of my hand, but the bottom of the pan also works

The icing would not have melted too much if you had not microwaved it first. The heat of the rolls is what makes the icing perfect.
