  • The other bank fishing episodes that we have done at Canyon Lake and at the Salt river have been well received by everyone. Thanks so much for watching them. Because the other episodes were so popular I decided to give the Bank at Saguaro lake a try too. The largemouth were being shy that day but we were able to have a ton of fun catching a bunch of yellow bass and what seemed to be an endless amount of bluegill. It was a ton of fun and I hope you find it useful and fun to watch too. As always remember to GET OUT AND LIVE!

The Goal of this channel is to take you along on my fishing adventures both good and bad and inspire you to "GET OUT AND LIVE ", Which is what the G-O-A-L Fishing stands for. Being outdoors and pursuing fish, however that looks, has always been fulfilling and life giving to me and I hope to share a little of that with you.

    Suggestion: double the time you take to land a yellow, let ‘em tire a bit. If they are a little worn out, they won’t have as much energy to stab you with their gill plates… works for me.

      @David Sena thanks. They did a pretty good job. I wasn’t out on top of them jigging so a cast master is a good option to cast out and slowly work back.

      @@GOALFishing Next time you go in the yak and are jigging again please do the Cabela's mean eye blade again mix in some kastmasters. Also, check out the new rapala blade baits way cool, they look like the Cabela's but more expensive and the "rapala jigging rap" never tried it but it's for vertical

    I've been watching your videos for a few days now and checked out the Salt River but it's really low. Went to saguaro lake yesterday to check it out and I think I'm going to try fishing off the dock tomorrow. All you need is a tonto pass I hope to fish there....I'm going to try to get some bluegill for catfish and I'll try corn and see if I can get some carp.

    It’s March, are the Yellows biting around this tune from the bank? I’m in Arizona for two more days! How do you work the kastmaster bait you were using. What was the weight on it?

    • @GOALFishing
      @GOALFishing  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @Rick they might be moving up but the water temp is still a little on the cold side. I haven’t tried yet this year so I don’t know if they’re close to the bank yet. The cast master is usually 1/8oz and I cast it out, let it sink to the bottom then lift my rod tip up and let it fall slowly then pick up the slack and lift and let fall. Rinse and repeat 😂

    Nice catches! We are in AZ looking for a fishing & camping spots, we found a really nice one at horseshoe lake dispersed camping site. Contemplating on going to Saguaro or Canyon lake next not sure, what would you recommend?

    • @GOALFishing

      Yvonne and John both those lakes can be tough until the water temp really warms up. Roosevelt, Bartlett, and the Lower Salt River are some of my preferred places this time of year.

    I’ve never fished Saguaro, but would like to. I like the bank fishing but my mode of fishing usually is float tube. I also think like you in that I like fishing for bass but I also like catching fish; I’d love to get into yellows or bluegill like this. Where would be a good launch with a float tube to start at Saguaro. Today is March 16, is it a good time for yellows and bluegill? I also like to fly fish but it seems these guys may hang out too deep?

    • @GOALFishing

      Jeff Collins butcher jones would be the best with a float tube. I’ve had the most luck in summer with the yellows but I’m expecting the bite to start up soon.

    So saguaro isn’t a good place for bass?

    • @GOALFishing
      @GOALFishing  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @Hypnotix Jose there are some monster bass in saguaro! They are pretty tough to catch from shore. Some of the best spots are up a ways on the lake. It’s a long way if you’re in a kayak, but if you have a boat with a fish finder and maps it’s a lot easier to get to some good spots. Every day is a puzzle that has to be pieced together. You have to find the fish and find out what they want that day.
