Totally awesome. i’m a black man that must watch this show every single day. i have every episode on tape. i haven’t missed a day of the show in probably 35 yrs. i started watching in grade school. i’m a tv comedian and i’m 63 yrs old. The show makes my day. Ernest T gets an education. is my favorite show. He’s a NUT. OMG too funny

I have to go see this town! I watch Andy Griffith reruns on tv almost everyday. Oh if we could just go back to that era. Great book of knowledge from your host Norm in this video. Loved it ❤great video

LOVE LOVE LOVE this video!!! I could comment all day long about it! ❤ I grew up in the town next to where Don Knott's grew up in WV. Thank you so much for sharing!!!!GREAT JOB!
John this was sooooooo Good, I consider this place home sweet home and go as much as possible. Norm was a Blast as well, just an all around amazing Place and this video made my day.
That was a Awesome tour, and the whole crew are great, John, Jodi and Norm! I passed through Mount Airy years ago before I knew it was Andy's home town and hope to go back some day and spend a day there. Thanks John and Jodi for another great video!
Norm was a treat! Learned so much about a subject I thought I knew well. John, a perfect example of why the Appalachian Channel resonates you put the spotlight on the people. Good job.
Oh my goodness this video was just the best! I still watch Andy Griffith reruns on my tv. One person that I did not hear mentioned was Aunt Bee...did he have any info on her. Just loved her character. Can't wait for the next installment of Mayberry here on your TH-cam channel. Thank you for an hour well spent!
Francis Bavier who played Aunt Bee actually lived a few towns over in Siler City, North Carolina. That's where she's buried. They say she was a hermit. She had a bunch of cats and a really big house and her house actually went up for sale last year the year before. Her accent was also really good acting lol. She was hard to work with from reading different books, and one time she broke an umbrella over Goobers head for saying a bad word lol.
So excited for this!!!! Im so glad you got to go!! Everyone needs to experience Mt. Airy bc it is like Mayberry! Such great people!! Norm was wonderful! I can't wait to see your new videos!!
@@normdaduck We have taken several squad car tours and each person is always so different and very enjoyable but we haven't had you yet so maybe we can also get a piece of Mt Airy granite lol.
Wow! That was an awesome tour and the guy Norm really knows how to tell the story. He had me hanging on the edge of my seat. Good find John & Jodi. Loved it.
Great video guys! Stop by Sycamore Shoals State Park near Johnson City and do a video on the Over Mountain men during the American Revolution. Many of us in the Tennessee, North Carolina and Virginia area are related to these men who fought the British at King's Mountain and don't even know it. John Sevier and Davy Crockett's father fought there. It was a turning point in the American Revolution. Great job guys, keep up the good work!
My bucket list is getting big my friend. Places I want to go from watching your channel. But this is probably my favorite. I love that show. Andy Griffith and Rawhide, are my favorite old shows. I’ve been late to work over a good one being on in the morning. That’s saying something. Because normally I’m around 22 minutes early to work every day and never mis . That’s why I don’t turn the tv on in the morning. 😊
I'm exhausted John after that tour. Yes that can bring a tear to your eye and looking forward to the feature tour of Maberry. Thanks for the memories..
My favorite state of mine place… we went in 2016. I never ever wanted to leave and hope to go back sometime. Thanks John and Jodi! Much appreciate your work❤️
Was that the real court house that was on the Andy Griffith show? I loved watching the Andy Griffith show when I was growing up.....that show, The Munsters & The Golden Girls were what I watched ❤
I have a cabin not too far from mt airy .after my wife died I haven't been back but might try coming again seeing this great video.we loved shopping and eating at snappy lunch!
While you were riding in the Sheriff's car you could have made a "Citizen's Arrest, Citizen's Arrest!" He didn't use his blinker once while driving! LOL!
God. God. What is it about the human mind that makes nostalgia so FREAKING sad??? I guess it's the clarification of the fact that we're all going to die, and much sooner than we once thought. Whatever it is, it is FREAKING sad.
Them new Chevelle‘s, I didn’t like them I wish ford would bring them back the old cars like they did back in 65 Ford Fairlane’s the galaxies the Falcons my dad he had a 65 -66 ford country squire station wagon We went everywhere. We went to beach bend Kings Island, rough River man. I love that car. I wish Ford bring it back like that.

Interesting enjoyed it ty ❤❤❤
Nice to hear about the economy.
Very cool😅
I took a 1967 Fairlane that i owned down to Mount Airy back in 1997
While you were riding in the Sheriff's car you could have made a "Citizen's Arrest, Citizen's Arrest!" He didn't use his blinker once while driving! LOL!
Lovely couple taking a picture in front of the sheriffs car
They were awesome ❤
Interesting show
The Andy Griffith show did use a 1959 Ford for a short time.
If you look at the shadowing in the background of the mural you will we Mt.Pilot (pilot mountain).
This man would have made a great character in the original show.
he is a REAL character and you will be seeing much more of Norm in upcoming episodes.
Thanks so much for the endorsement lol
Love the teenager references!
funny but true lol
God. God. What is it about the human mind that makes nostalgia so FREAKING sad??? I guess it's the clarification of the fact that we're all going to die, and much sooner than we once thought. Whatever it is, it is FREAKING sad.
I was there this morning, I make two stops 3 times a week there
No seatbelts in '65 either? Ya'll are stressing me out 🤣

What a bizzare man?
This is the most embarrassing video ever. How fake is this?
Sorry but Andy was not a nice person in real life!
Oh really? When did you meet him? I’ve never heard that
Andy was a very private person in real life.
We all have our good and bad days😂
