An absolute must to check out from her is her medley performance at the Brit Awards. Its sensational. She even won I think 6 Awards setting a record that night
Hey buddy, happy birthday again, and now in a public space, so everyone may know about it and have a toast on you and RAYE, who also is celebrating her birthday today! My first comment got lost in the process of Aaron renaming and listing the video, so you couldn't see one, I done wrote it again, approximately... What do you think, should he go in that order, or just watch her most asked for performances and recordings? Peace out.
Btw., in the morning I had a chat with my friend and coworker Karina with whom I'd been to watch PMJ. She wrote: "Was läuft gerade so in deinen Boxen? Ich habe mich sehr in die Musik von Aurora verliebt. Die läuft sehr oft bei mir. 🙏😁" Thought you might be happy to hear that on your birthday, I had introduced Karina to Aurora some weeks ago... Cheers!
@@Hundhammer Thanks, buddy! I think any order will be fine, don't you agree? There are no sub par ones out there, so it doesn't really matter. Raye and AJ are easy like that 🙂
I love everything about Raye. But I’m presently obsessed with her use of head voice. It reminds me so much of the inimitable Miss Sarah Vaughn. They both utilize a classical/operatic sounding setup & placement in that part of their ranges. It’s really cool. And I’m super curious if she was inspired by The Devine One or if it’s more of a coincidence. Anyway, great reaction as always. I really enjoy reactors who bring some sort of expertise to their reactions. And you A-Aron are perfectly placed to bring your expertise to music reactions 👍🏻👍🏻
Another brilliant reaction I really enjoyed it. Thank you. Raye is a fantastic artist. As well as her brilliant band. I like the fact that Raye has the choir known as Flames Collective performing with on her live performances. Flames Collective is an initiative for young people from UK inner-city secondary schools who demonstrate high potential when it comes to music. Which allows them to perform at the highest level.
I always get excited when you post about Raye! Your reaction was fantastic! I’d love to see you react to her Tiny Desk performance-it’s about 30 minutes long, and it really showcases her incredible voice and talent. I can’t wait to see more of her on your channel! Sending love from South Africa!
Up! Her Tiny Desk is absolutely fantastic! Had not recommended it to Aaron yet, wanted to keep that for a little later when he knows her some better, has seen her medley at the Brits, Genesis maybe as well... but you're right, there's no way around that Tiny Desk, it's just too good! Lol, I had some months ago put a very charming Nigerian music reactor (Gracie reacts) unto RAYE and she became a massive fan, did a couple of very nice reactions to her (she's not a pro though like Aaron, but she really loves and feels great music and vocals and expresses that very vividly in her mimics and comments, I love how every reactor can put a different angle on a piece of art...) - anyway, what I wanted to say was: In her recent reaction to RAYE Gracie talked about that Tiny Desk again (she had done a reaction some weeks previous to that), how she had been playing it on loop for hours while cleaning and rearranging her place and also while travelling... and it's the same over here, never grow tired of it, I go back to it again and again... Peace and love from BavaRAYEa to SA!
@@Hundhammer I know that creator I love her reactions. I hope that one day she might visit here so I can go watch her live. I really love everything she does. I also love to see people react to her for the first time.
Oh, yes, please react to her single Genesis. Such a powerful and uplifting message! I love Raye's songwriting and her interaction with the other musicians. One can see and feel that the core of the band has played a lot of concerts together. On so many levels she reminds me of Ren (values, expressiveness, modesty, authenticity, independent artist, UK ...). Please react to more of her originals.
Hey Aaron, strange, my first comment seems to be gone. I think I've found and watched the video before it was listed, it had a different title yesterday, something like "this was worth it"... and my comment got lost in the process of renaming and listing the video? Maybe you have seen it or have it in your emails... - Anyway, I remember having thanked you for the quick upload, had not expected it that soon as you had said you'd upload it in the next couple of days, so thanks for that... And it's a good idea to buckle up with her as there's so much more to discover. I remember also having suggested you might try to stay in line with the order of the songs on her album, as they are all interconnected and are telling her story, you get the most out of the album by listening to the songs in order and back to back... And as you did two covers first and then OWT which is the opening song after 1. Introduction (you skipped that one, but it's just that, a spoken introduction set to music, only one minute, you might hear it when ever you'll do a full album review, quite a few reactors did that because it makes complete sense...) So we had 2. Oscar Winning Tears and the next song would be 3. Hard Out Here, which is about how the industry treated her. Explicit lyrics here, I suggest you go with the formula you've found for Ren reactions: F--- it! Because that's adequate here as well! In this case go with the MV - and for a comparison listen to the live album recording from the Royal Albert Hall (audio only outside the UK) as well, would be very interesting to have a real jazz musician comment on the huge differences of the arrangements in these two settings. Please consider putting both versions in one reaction, watch the MV first and then listen to the live album audio recording - your channel and background have predestined you to do it that way, I remember your reactions to the different takes AJ has on one song...) In case you want to listen to some more RAYE before taking the deep dive into her album, you might watch her medley at the Brit Awards first, which is out of order and not the full songs, but just awesome! One of the songs in the medley but not mentioned in the title as she had not yet released the full song yet at the time of that performance is Genesis, which she put out only recently as an EP... I've seen in the comments that some other visitors have been asking for this as well, so you might watch these two before coming back to the album and Hard Out Here... Genesis is an amazing stand-alone piece of art in every respect, I won't give away too much here, just watch it... Peace and love from BavaRAYEa!
P.S. Some more remarks: The bass player is Liv (#Livthompsonbass), great session musician and member of her core band, she and RAYE have a great chemistry. The drummer is Matt Brooke (#mattjabrooks), a very nice guy as well, had a little chat with him in the comments of her video for Man's World at Montreux, he said "It’s such an honour to play the drums for an artist of this calibre. I get to hear Raye sing night after night on tour and I’m still in awe and a massive fan myself. Once in a generation artist. The REAL DEAL!". On guitar we have Paulie (Paul Murray). You might well remember their names as you'll get to see these three core members of her band very often on stage with her, have been touring with her all year round, and I love how she gives credits to them in almost every performance. They are truly a gift for each other... Now, on this song, I forgot to mention as I did in my lost comment: On the album she positioned it close to the end, after that there's only "Buss It Down" and the outro, and you will understand why it's there once you've listened to the whole thing which is quite dark and deep and personal, she even hesitated to put Worth It on the album for quite a while, but then decided she wanted to leave the listener with some positive vibes, and this and Buss It Down are perfect choices for that... but you kinda skipped ahead... Peace out!
I am obsessed with her. We are witnessing the evolution of a musical icon.
She’s brilliant, Phenomenal 🤩🤩🤩
You need to see her singing The thrill is gone at the Royal Albert Hall is a masterpiece performance.
You need to see her singing Oscar Winning Tears at the Royal Albert Hall.
Thanks. I did react to that

I highly recommend that you check out the video for her single Genesis. Her song writing is exceptional and she co-directed the video too!
Just watch, the whole Albert Hall concert.
