As property owner in California, gotta say that most of the time, the water can be brown if there is a piping and repairs in a new conctruction zones...usually just let it run for a while and it clears off...the guy showing you around doesn't seem as informed
The apartments look nice only that the so called guides weren't helpful at all! Most developers don't invest in PR and they lose out on potentially viable clients. I bet that such a magnificent housing complex would have a mix of energy solutions,water heating being fundamental. A mix system of both solar and electric heating is in fact a by-law in mass tenancy buildings. The guard knows nothing about the system workings of that housing complex
Most of the apartments have solar heating panels which work well when it's sunny there is always hot water but now coz it's winter it does not get hot coz there is no sun that's why they give you an option of putting an instant shower
Karen, most properties have managers. Such kind of properties tend to have professional ones. Sad you had to be given a security guard and a dull guide
Some of these security guards are well informed even that you. Respect is paramount.

Why do you always have guards taking you around apartments ,you need to ask them to show you the management or caretaker to take you around n explain for you everything
They seem to have no clue...I little bit of customer service training is required ..by the way you can get a better deal in kiambu town it's not very far from Nairobi plus with the super highway airport is 25 minutes
Please dear Karen try to go undercover to ask in Some areas why the Hauses are staying empty for a long time before Someone comes to rent it. Be careful with night thieves.
oh no! not in Kenya. Only the authorised people can let u in for house viewing. As I can see the house is located in a serene area thus the place is calm and underpopulated. the place to be for me!! Mostly uninhabited apartments are new and ready for sale. Security is guaranteed here. Thanks Karen doing great job.

You can install a boiler if you need hot water from all the taps

Guards are the wrong people to show you around.
No hot water? In this cold Nairobi? I don't know about that. Plus the 3k instant showers are pretty ugly if we are going to look at aesthetics. Decent ones range from 20k and upwards and they are usually wall mounted.
Also the brown water means that either the tank or the pipes are not clean. You need to know if there is any filtration problem.
I think a realtor will be in a position to explain more. That guy is a security guy

Most Guards have no Idea of the Details about the House. There's is to open and close the house for viewing.
Sis the units look light and airy which is good. But no hot water, AC, heat or screens would make it difficult to say yes. I guess if mosquitoes or flies are not a problem, the screens could be optional 🤣. I don't know Sis, you have a tough decision to make. The view is important too. I need my room to have a view please.🤣☺

Hi Karen, when you say "hot water", we hear "Hut Worrah".😂 The heating system might have been switched off to save on power, plz check with the owner. Otherwise I hope you're keeping warm coz our winter is hear.

Nice apartment, these high rise buildings in Nairobi westlands are very noisy. Air bnb is popular in these areas and these air bnb visitors don’t respect the tenants complains. You have been warned I won’t recommend any high rise buildings in Nairobi. Thanks me later.
Never get instant hot shower heads, but can fix ones that heat water separately away from the pipes, even for the kitchen, but are nearly ten times expensive, but safer.
I like the first one. Hopefully, there's easy hot water!
