Detroit clearly has never been worried about a Presidents' Trophy curse.

Alex Connell, George Hainsworth, Roy Worters, and Lorne Chabot were goalies who retired in 1937. Chabot never got selected to the Hall of Fame despite being named one of the top 100 players of the 20th century by The Hockey News. THN also twice listed him as the 20th greatest goaltender of all time.

Nearly every coach that year ended up with a trophy named after then

Imagine people who complain about today's playoff format back then...

I have an idea for a video of yours I think would be really cool.
2004-05, the season that wasn't. The factors that led to the lockout, how the negotiations could have gone differently, which side was more at fault.
Would hockey be different today if the season were not locked out since after all, it led to OT shootouts and the removal of the 2-line pass infraction among other things.
Also, what did we miss out on and what do you think would have happened? Which teams would have been top contenders, which players were due to go on a tear and have a breakout season, what other storylines were you looking forward to seeing unfold that we were robbed of? And of course, who would have been your prediction to win the Cup?
Lastly, the Stanley Cup was actually awarded that year to a hockey tournament that had nothing to do with the NHL, I think I remember it being fairly amateur, which was really weird. I do not remember what the occasion was but you could get into the specifics of that too.

The Americans are such an interesting story. It's a shame they're often forgotten about in NY hockey history despite being the first.

Leafs did figure out who they needed, took time for them to trust that.

Yay! Detroit wins again! Too bad I got into hockey right as they started their current rebuild. Guess these wins will have to do me for now.
