Developed and published by Namco in 1988 It's coming up for Halloween, so I figured it was time to record a new QHD longplay of Splatterhouse! #splatterhouse #retrogaming #arcadegames
Ah Splatterhouse, what a fantastic game. This game really was ahead of its time when it came to horror games. For a game this old, the atmosphere and story are excellent. And the game is just a blast to play as well.
I love horror and Halloween and this game is now a tradition. It's so unapologetic in the grotesque gore and the creepy music is so fitting. Biggyman forever! 😀
In all the years I've known of and played this game, I've never noticed till now that the jumping severed hands were giving you the middle finger when it was wagging it's finger.
OMG I've been a fan of this game for like 20 years now and I didn't know you could skip the nechromancer. I've never seen that wardrobe room before omg. I never took the room with the paintings, I'd rather go through the water room instead. I can't believe I just found out about that.
I remember playing this on the Wii and finding it compelling. I found the arcade version later on and found it visceral and amazing with such a good set of music to set the tone. I'll also be honest, I love the downer ending.
the wall mart where i live has a splatterhouse arcade cabinet i have yet to play it cus of the whole covid - 19 thing i hope i can get a chance to play it before they take it away
@@jakebello7988 Yep, from the Slope's Game Room video, the folks at the Friday the 13th franchise had a lawsuit with the folks at Splatterhouse over the goalie mask. Thus why it became skull-like in later games.

JRH Yes, this game was a total groundbreaker back in the day

Yep - totally freaked me out when I saw it the first time!
@@AL82RetrogamingLongplaysDo you mind if I use this footage for a video game countdown list I have in mind?
Visionary, surreal and F****** scary. Music is probably the best heard on a coin-op machine.
Great choice for October!
Definitely - keep an eye out of the sequel ;)
I like this longplay. He Tea-Bags Biggyman!
The upside down cross was such a great idea. Instead of another monster it’s a possessed relic that you fight like that of the mask
I love this game so much - an inspiration for me even today.

The ending music is great. Game is superb as well.
Never played any of the Splatterhouse games, but I have heard of it and it looks awesome.
Splatterhouse is favorite game just like doom eternal
Very nice! Put some more arcade games! Regards from Brazil.
This game used to scare me but I think it was part 2

I love the ghost girl of level 5
Love this game!.
I know I'm making an observation but I think this game and the Rick character was an inspiration to Bray Wyatt and the Fiend character...
thanks for the video.

His mask reminds me Jason voorhees.
The mask became more skull-like in later games.

@@giselletorres4156 And red in the TG-16 Port.
Also there's a ROM-Hack of SH2 where the hockey mask is restored.
