As a retired educator, I can say without hesitation or reservation that Jamie is an excellent instructor. His pacing and clear explanations guide the viewer through the editing process smoothly. He makes Fusion look effortless and takes away much of the mystery associated with that essential function of DaVinci Resolve. All these tutorials are greatly appreciated and are building competency on the part of the learners. Thanks, Jamie for the time and effort you put into these valuable productions.
I was watching so many Videos of you and it kept me motivated to become more creative in my musicvideo flow. Thanks a lot and sorry for my bad english! Btw i do not comment often, but when i do it is very important to me !
Tks for sharing Jamie. You are the best. Are you using different patch or ? I can only find Trails node without Motion Trails in fusion. I got similar results.
Seems same but all of sky stacked become bright when click play after second time play. Need to reset node when play it. can not copy same setting due to different node contents.
Nice tips, especially like the fade look! I might need to give this another try with Davinci 17, I had a little trouble in 16 with the frames occasionally rendering out of order by one frame every so often in my clip which wasn't real noticeable to the average person but would have been nice if it rendered out a little cleaner.
When you create a fusion clip you work within that specific range instead of the entire clip. Its good to get into that habit when creating composites with a lot of media/layers
Thanks Jamie for the great tutorial. However, when I follow to create my own video, there is not "Motion Trails" tool in my Davinci Resolve 17, do you know why??
Hi Jamie, sorry I know I am asking a very silly question as I am still waiting my davinci 16 to be updated to 17 then I can use motiontrails, haven’t got chance to try it out yet. Just wondering by following this video and using the start trial footage downloaded here, am I able to add start trails on any night time sky view footages I shoot myself ?
Hello Jamie, thanks for the video. But I am currently using Davinci Resolve 16 and I couldn't find the motion trail effect in fusion. What will be the equivalent option in Davinci Resolve 16?
i didn't try it, my specs are gtx 1650 4gb i5-9300hf 8 gb ram Pls no one bully me, i actually get by ising daVinci resolve quite well, considering i have 8 gb ram.
Hello, I am a fitness trainer and I want to make videos that show the targeted muscles in a specific color. For example, when training the chest muscles, the chest muscles appear in red or green, for example. I am waiting impatiently for the video.

Top man🙏🏾⚘👌🏾
Big up!!
Tks for sharing Jamie. You are the best. Are you using different patch or ? I can only find Trails node without Motion Trails in fusion. I got similar results.
Hmm Are you using the free version!?
I am using studio version. V16 and V17 both without Motion Trail.
I also checked both windows and Mac. no this one.
Weird. Well it could be labled differently so if you're getting trails then it may be the same thing?
Seems same but all of sky stacked become bright when click play after second time play. Need to reset node when play it. can not copy same setting due to different node contents.
dope ! :)
Thanks 🔥
heyy Jamie ,
can you recommend me a channel for learning adobe After Effects please?
(A channel that is similar to yours )
Hi Jamie
Can we use Samsung galaxy 7 pro tab to edit with Davinci resolve ? If yes how? Many thanks indeed in advance ❤
No idea I dont use a tablet.

What was the point of disliking. 😍 Saved it for future reference.
Beats me hahah. Thanks man!
@@JamieFenn pleasure is all mine. 🥰
Do you have a tutorial available that would apply to how to make floating head and body parts?
Not right now.
@@JamieFenn guess I gotta wing it
Some tutorials get you to click 'New Fusion Clip', others just jump straight into the Fusion tab. What's the difference?
I also would like to know this!
When you create a fusion clip you work within that specific range instead of the entire clip. Its good to get into that habit when creating composites with a lot of media/layers
@@JamieFenn makes sense. Thanks Jamie!
Thanks Jamie for the great tutorial. However, when I follow to create my own video, there is not "Motion Trails" tool in my Davinci Resolve 17, do you know why??
Maybe type trails?
@@JamieFenn Only Smooth Motion (SM) and Vector Motion Blur (VBI) available when typing "motion"; only Trails (Trls) available when typing "trails"
WHAT DID YOU DO?
Jamie thanks for the update ! Just wondering I can’t find motion trail in my fusion, is this because I am using DaVinci 16?
Yup! Upgrade to 17. It’s a free update!
WHAT DID YOU DO?
can you add motion trail in free version?
*where was that transition U used after the intro from*
thanks for the video, where did you take the MOTION TRAILS node?
I didn’t take it anywhere haha
@@JamieFenn i mean, there isn't in fusion right now. was it an older DVR version?
Try “trails”
You need the Studio version of Resolve. Remember that it's a one-off purchase with forever upgrades.
@@JaydenLawson ok ty
I cant find the Motion Trails node
It seems you need the Studio version of Resolve. Keep in mind that it's a one-off purchase with forever upgrades.

Yep!
Hey, how to make the stars look like theyre spinning (thumbnail) ?
You'd have to point your camera at the north star. And then do the method I show you in the second part of the video.
Hello Jamie, thanks for the video. But I am currently using Davinci Resolve 16 and I couldn't find the motion trail effect in fusion. What will be the equivalent option in Davinci Resolve 16?
Upgrade to 17. It’s free
It's not there in 17 either. I think it's not there in the free version.
WHAT DID YOU DO?
i can't find motion trail in fx tool, any ideas?
You need the Studio version of Resolve. Keep in mind that it's a one-off purchase with forever upgrades.
Who's computer is fast enough to do the second method!? hahah
i didn't try it, my specs are
gtx 1650 4gb
i5-9300hf
8 gb ram
Pls no one bully me, i actually get by ising daVinci resolve quite well, considering i have 8 gb ram.
@@Moussa_H Im not going to bully you! hahah I dont have a super fast computer so only love here!
@@Moussa_H mine are lower, don't worry lol
@@YBMTB Ok xD
подскажи что за проблема( try reducing the timeline resolution or the number of correctors )?????
motion trail isnt there for me?? any way I can get it I have davinci 17
Search trails
generally I just type cc for the corrector. thats just me tho, anyone else do that?
To each their own, as long as you add the node lol
@@JamieFenn yea yea ofc ^^ it wasnt a criticism I was just wondering if im weird or not xD
Firts jemmiiiii......
Would be nice if you say that this is Studio version only. The non-paid version doesn't get the Motion Trail effect.
Certain features of the studio vs non studio change. I don’t keep up sorry
For payed version but not that node…. 😢
