Yeah. I really hope he’s doing well. He’s very talented so I’m sure he’ll be fine. I can understand having to put a hard break between the game journalist life and “real life” because it can eat up a bunch of time with no product. Games are great in moderation but they can be an opiate and an addiction all too easily.
It is strange. Years in the games journalism industry and he just announces that he'll be uprooting and gone in about 2 weeks with no way of being contacted again. It's weird but I hope all is well with him.

It happens when people leave jobs. They have friends during the job but when its time to move on, they move on from the friends they made. It does suck, cause they all seemed pretty close. Seems to Ben those friendships weren't as deep, just work.
I'm actually pretty surprised that Ben has disconnected this much. I kind of figured that the Allies would be texting with him about games from time to time, but to hear that they just don't talk anymore and have been reduced to just steam friends was unexpected and frankly the circumstances of his departure seem a little weird. I really miss Ben and hope he's doing well. Dreaming of a catch up one day on any given platform.

It's really weird hearing them talk about Ben and having basicly no contact. As a viewer it felt like he just suddenly disappeared and you are unable to reach him, but i thought the allies still had the usual contact with him. But from the sound of it he really has just gone silent.

Whoa, that comment about "losing a sense of scale as you're falling asleep" hit me really hard. That's something I experience a lot while I'm laying in bed. Like for a brief moment, everything about the world seems so simple and everything makes sense. I never really knew how to describe that feeling and didn't realize that other people experienced that too. Maybe that just means I have the same weird kind of brain that Kyle does.

My favourite EZA video of the year every year. Isla and Kyle have such great chemistry when they're just chatting and ever since Mandatory Update Nights I've enjoyed just listening to them chat to each other. This year's didn't disappoint!

In a job like creating... you're never truly happy or satisfied with your work. I'm 24. I'm likely never going to create a popular podcast with my friends and get money for it. Hell, I don't even have friends anymore. What is success? I was supposed to go to grad school in 2020 right out of college and that didn't happen because the world ended. I'm still working a job that I like but want to progress into and go back to school but I also want to get into creating music again. I can never seen to get those ideas past "pretty good". Easy Allies is pretty cool. Love and Respect.
I really feel Kyle on the creating part.. I teach a lot for a living.. mostly creative things like music and gamedesign.. but more and more I'm starting to feel like that's not enough.. I want to create stuff my self.. and put something out there.. instead of teaching kids the basics of how to do that... I still really enjoy giving workshops.. but I thing a focus shof might be good for me... Thanks a lot for these episodes.. this one really hit home for me!!

It is very eerie how fast and sudden Ben just dropped off the face of the earth. I mean, good for him for basically hard resetting his life but it just feels weird.
I never really got the complain about Twitter or saying it's horrible. It's obviously different when more people know you. But i basicly just follow a few accounts for gaming, tech, movie, anime/manga news anda bunch of artists that i like and that's pretty much all i see. I just quickly go through my timeline when i'm eating breakfast or follow things live if there is an E3, XIV live letter or any other live show. Twitter is pretty much the best news source for almost any hobby or interest, every other website like YT, Reddit etc. will just link back to Twitter anyway.
We become completely different people within our short existence of an average human life span.... the cells in your body have all been replaced many times over from the time you were born til the day you die (assuming you live an average length life)... and if you're a well adjusted person your ideologies / thoughts will differ greatly as well. I'm 44 yo... the person I was at 20 no longer exists. He's a just a memory now.
If I may add my philosophical two cents: *You're never the person who started the path. Whether the difference is money or time, you'll always change, even a little bit. *I feel like the notion of 'power/money corrupts' is instilled by the powerful assholes to people don't think they're as huge of assholes as they are
