Whilst I adore you, my bank balance don't.
Ive brought so many plants after you've shown just what's possible with them.
I can't imagine the work that goes into these, thank you for taking the time to share with us!
Oh and I've had my first plant take to the moss pole! You've started a passion I never knew I needed
    Thank you Jan!

    Great video, gorgeous syngonium.
I cut my syngoniums back hard every year and they love it. They come back bigger and bushier each time.

I've got my mojito on a grow vertical pole that I extended, and I regret it pretty quick because it just grew to the top of it super quick and has now thrown runners all over the place haha. This has inspired me to finally deal with it and remove it from the pole and use them both for other plants and propagate the mojito to grow in a planter instead haha, I'm not too fond of the mature leaves of the mojito anyway so I think I'll be happier with something similar to yours :)

Yep! Being there, done that! 😂 I saw a big Syngonium at a plant store and said to my friend,"that must be a different species as I’ve never seen it before" the owner of the saw explained that it was a mature Batik, and as it gets mature you can barely see any of the veins/pettern on it, I decided I didn’t like the mature version,it’s starting to happen to mine.🙁

I have two Syngoniums. I got so tired of one flopping over and always being so thirsty that I cut it up and put it in a vase. She's never been happier. When it gets too tall, I cut it and put the propagations back in the vase. 😊

Love the leaf shape and variety’s but yes they are so vining and tall without bushing up.Will definitely try your idea! I have a S.Albo growing outdoors in very bright light and always cutting it back and it continues to throw out long vines that are all crawling on the deck.might try growing my S.Batik as a hanging plant!.💚🪴🌱🌿 Natalie

During the pandemic, I paid $95 US for a single-leaf Syngonium albo cutting. I now have about 300 albo plants. Some of them are running wild in the yard of my San Francisco Bay area house. They don’t grow in the winter, but they do survive and then grow for most of the year.

Hi Jan, thanks for all your videos and advice. You are literally responsible for me getting into growing 'indoor' plants. I was injured from work and came across your video on your Monstera adensonii. I was inspired. (My reality falls a little short of yours but I'm still hooked.)
I notice that your Mojito has several totally green (reverted) leaves. Mine does too. My question is should I cut them out so they don't out grow the variegation, or just leave them because the vine will grow variegated later?

  • @ButterflyLoverGirl
    @ButterflyLoverGirl 19 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

Syngoniums do well on a wide triangular trellis because they are climbers and crawlers in nature. Multiple varieties grow wild where I live and they are such prolific growers.

We have a bunch of painted arrow clones, the oldest pot is probably nearly 30 years old. My pot is only 6-8 years though, and last year decided to reduce the vine as it was looking a bit bald, and go for bushy, its already looking lovely and full but im hoping to double the size this year. She's unstopable!
But this makes me want to add a different variety to the pot xD
Edit: good luck with the lighting/rotating, in my experience these plants move almost immediately to follow the light.
Edit2: ive got a ring support around mine to keep it more upright and not just toppling over, but id love to put it in a long planter with something to grow up one day, i feel like syngonium would be a good candidate for a green wall.

I have a mojito as well, but the most leaves it’s ever had at one time is 4. Right now it has 2. 😂 it’s very sad. I’m just not a syngonium person. I like the juvenile leaves, but I don’t like the mature ones, so I guess it’s just as well. Yours is so beautiful though Jan. I really love how variegated it’s become. 💚

Thanks from Norway (not sure if I would risk placing my Syngoniums outdoors during summer - summers can be cold here 😊). I have a question. When you cut back a plant a lot, isn’t it becoming more difficult for the remaining leaves to feed the original roots? So would cutting some of the roots actually be beneficial? Thanks again.
