I was there when this extended song was the summer hit in the Toronto gay discos, and helped bring us out of the New Wave/Punk wilderness in the summer of '82, along with Donna Summer's Love Is In Control and Laura Branigan's Gloria. After the Disco Demolition and the forced acceptance of such acts as AC/DC, ABC was a refreshing breath of Disco air after a season or two of depressing Rock. Who knew that the synth dance sounds of the Human League would usher in a British Invasion of great dance music that would carry us through until Madonna and Miami Sound Machine and SAW? This mix is fun, a little repetitive, but welcome in a DJ set at a club.
Thanks friend of mine recommended me to do the mix I never heard the song before and I thought it could use a nice disco version and I think I accomplished it.
