As a former UWI graduant, I can testify that Dr. Haughton meant people well. He always ensure that his students think critical, and played a vital role to ensured that they are successful in their degree program. I am hoping that he will continue to make his contribution to nation building now that he is out of politics.

This young man have have the right intention but like quite a few he's not getting the support that he needs to move up because the system is a powerful machine that can only be tame when enough people stand up together as one. This is one of the realist interview. I hope the leading political party in Ja is watching this interview and learning. Dr. Haughton know exactly what he is talking about. Very intelligent guy and very down to earth.
Entering politics to address deficiencies is a noble attempt at changing something which systemically does not want to be changed and anyone who tries will soon realise the machinery of something bigger than that thing they call the government...Dr Haughton giving up is never an option until you do it....

This is a must for me to re-watch. I first heard about Dr. Andre whilst watching profile (correct me if I’m wrong ) a few years ago on profile and I was so intrigued, when I found out he was in politics, I said “Yes” because I know he’s a man of substance and would bring great value to the Jamaican people. But to hear him speak and how they did him dutty in politrixs, Jah know! This is definitely an eye opener for me.
Dr. Haughton please ho ahead and praise yourse3(self praise). You have an uncanny ability to take complex matters and simplify them so that even the common girl (me) understand them. You and Damion Crawford are 2 of my favorites.

Mi brethren it all boils down to what the people the people have the power to make the change but they don't realise that they allow them selves to be tricked and used they can be bought and sold .

Listening to Andr'e,and the panel definitely helps me to understand why politics is definitely a blood sport in many ways. I grew up southwest St Ann,and attended school in Montego bay in my early teens. While in St Ann I remembered vividly the first speech at a political meeting g at the age of twelve. Seriously, this is eye opening. I always knew that Jamaican politics was not intended to serve the interests of the Jamaican people but Andre has certainly illuminated the real politiks and how this has been wielded to hold us back. It's tragic. We need a revolution or an entirely new political movement beyond the two main political parties.
This man Haughton is a man that I truly admired. I see him in the future of Jamaica. I was kinda disappointed that he quit. But knowing the spiritual Journey he really had to remove himself.

Senator haughton has always been a radical personality that has the impetus to bring about positive change. I find it to be change that could bring about an entire paradigm shift so I hope he realizes that the fight he is getting is from within and without his party because they fear this. They cannot handle you at the front

Very naive!! I was taken aback when he went into politics and especially to the PNP. He should not have joined politics, whether PNP or JLP, at least not at this stage nor age. He should have continued to hone his craft and become a real sort after and well respected technocrat in his field. Work with some multinational corporations and make plenty money. Then after he could try the politics..
oh yh he was in over his head. he might've had bright ideas but that only gets you so far. he was so unprepared for that arena. lol, by his own admission through some of what he said, he wasn't prepared. he was burdened with ideas and prolly some good ones but did not grasp the process through which he might be able to execute these ideas. it seems as if he mostly see through black and white lenses while this world colors in shades of gray a lot :) . hope he gives it another shot.
