  • I talked to Mike Pompeo for an hour. He often surprised me, and sometimes ticked me off.

    ----
Pompeo was CIA Director and then became Secretary of State.
Now he might run for president.
    This is our full interview.
    He’s a very smart politician.
He surprised me by saying a bunch of things I liked, but also a lot I hate.
He says legalizing drugs is a “terrible idea” and Edward Snowden should be killed.
But I’m glad Pompeo's willing to debate. Many politicians won’t.
I’m also glad he has a sense of humor.

They lie, extort, manipulate, and murder to achieve a very shady unknowable version of America. It might be a good version that we would want and desire, but the people determining that version are arbitrary and change from year to year. The agents might be of impeccable character and virtue, but they get indoctrinated into the Family all the same - self justifying against the swill of humanity. The reality is that they ultimately prop up the clearly despicable corporate-political class that rules our nation. I doubt they have a better alternative but it is what it is.

I always discounted the Federal government's claims against him as revenge for making them look bad. Perhaps I should be more humble in my ignorance and realize that doing one heroic act doesn't turn a person into a saint. good interviewer would have called Pompeo out on his hypocrisy!! Stasso knows dam well what Pompeo is quoted as saying about having ''taken entire training courses on how to lie, cheat, and steal'' (Pompeos own words) yet here he is condemning Snowden on doing exactly what Pompeo smiles and laughs about being so good at??! The man is a complete hypocrite !!! Hence his ability to lie with a straight face during this interview!!! He doesn't 'care about putting the US people first'!! You know he is lying about EVERYTHING, because his lips are moving

He’s about 70% of what I want. It’s a shame. It’s not that I think he’s an evil person. I think he’s still too close the intelligence machine. He still thinks our Intelligence apparatus is a noble institution of the highest order. He feels this way because he’s never been burned by the system. Because he’s never been burned by it he feels warmed by it’s fire.

Such a great interview. You ask hard questions from multiple points of view to flesh out the ideas. We need more John Stossel type journalists in the world. I am glad we have the original.

Yeah.. I didn't agree on Snowden.. I get the sentiment that you can't just go to a company and just take things without repercussions. But in this case the government is abusing it's power.
