I was at a Styx concert where Tommy Shaw did part of this song on Acoustic guitar before going into Crystal Ball. But I agree, I wish they would do more deeper tracks like this one or other songs from Wooden Nickle era besides Lady. Midnight Ride would be a good one to see them do live.
Thanks for asking, but no. I'm the guitar player with the Neighborhood Band. My namesake is a producer out of Chicago that worked with Styx from the very beginning and produced their first album. I was a big fan. I still have the vinyl record with my name on the back! Thanks for listening.
@@johnryan6758 yeah I saw the name John Ryan and wondered if you were the same one who helped produce and record the first 4. Great cover of Best Thing. Definitely a lost classic.
This is awesome covering Styx's 1st hit sweet! Best thing cracked Billboad's top 200 1972 from Styx's self titled. Best thing was huge hit in the US midwest.
Best cover of an old Styx song I've heard (long-time big Styx fan). They performed "Best Thing" before they changed their name to Styx. You could also try "A Day" or "Castle Walls" for two of my favorite deep cuts of theirs.
Nice live performance gentlemen.
Excellent! Certainly not enough of this Styx deep cut stuff out there. Great job guys!
I would pay to see this band. Not only did they pick a Styx song, but a very unknown and fantastic one. Great job guys.
Double Nickel
These guys are the best cover band in the land!!!
damn! nice job boys! Wish the current line up of STYX would dip deep back in an early tune like this. Sounds great!!

YOWSA. This band KICKS ASS! If I rolled up to a 'neighborhood picnic' and saw/heard this band playing there I'd move in to that neighborhood! :D
You Folks never disappoint

Wow.....I came out of curiosity, was pleasantly surprised by the excellence of this cover. Well done!
Great job, Guys!!!
Wow! I didn't think anyone did this cover. These guys nailed the F out of it. Just wow! What other Styx songs can they pull off?
Good cover of an obscure but very good early Styx song.
Nailed the Chorus and the keyboard! Great job!
Wow! Never expected to see a band cover this much less do such an awesome job. Hats off, this made my day. I loved Wooden Nickel sticks
