Never could understand why the ump says "I'm sure you're right..." yet stays with their call. Just stick to your damn call and don't make things worse by insulting the player.
i watched this live. The athmosphere from the crowd was great once the match points got defended and that bad call. was so happy for sock, this match will come to my mind with the one before in the tourney when I think of jack :D And it was the home crowd aswell. Hope he will return to little rock orlando again this year
Nice sunset too. You don't always need to go to Roland Garros or Flushing Meadows to see exciting Tennis. Sometimes it's happening just around the corner.
@@maximilianoperetti Very true. And his forehand is basically all wrist. I mean hell... Agassi was number 1 one year then the next dropped off a cliff and had to play challenger matches
Have you ever sat in the umpires chair, and called a match? Have you ever stood at the net post and umpired a match? It’s DIFFICULT. I’m a pro, and it’s really tough.
I don’t generally lie. What do you think I’m lying about? That umpiring is difficult? It is. Or me being a pro? It’s pretty easy to check my career accomplishments and credentials. I’ve taught 50,000 hours, including on the ATP Tour, including the US Open, I’ve won prize money in 90 tournaments, I’ve played numerous ATP players, beaten a couple and trained many WTA players. My lessons are $130-$190/hour. All I’m saying is, umpiring is difficult. So is being a linesperson. I’ve coached, played, strung, called lines and written articles all on the pro tour. Anything else?
This is what happens when you buy your way into crucial positions on tour. Instead of being capable. Candy ass stop. Glad Sock won, but other dude is cool too.
This has permanently changed my view of Jack Sock. That was ridiculous. He really went above and beyond being an asshole over a (possible) fault of the umpire that she had no control over. Ridiculous.
say, did you notice the bad call was virtually on match point? how does the umpire not have control over being able to see a ball out at the baseline? not like it was on the far tramline. he took his penalty, fought back and won the match, and didn't berate her afterwards. couldn't be much classier imo
I actually agree.... really don’t like how loud and obnoxious he is in a regular match... i do understand the issue here which made things worse but i found it disrespectful to his opponent who didn’t do anything wrong to him. Screaming when u win a point like that just shows poor sportsmanship...
Too much time to yourself gardening has led to dumb comments on here. He had a very serious injury and is battling back to form. I wish him all the best and love to see him give an effort to get back to the main tour
Sock: "I cannot play after that"
Umpire: "I'M SURE YOU'RE RIGHT" XDDD
For once, seems like the justice was made :P
Jajajaja

The bad call actually helped Sock come back and win the match. Sports psychology...
If he looses the point after the call though, he's screwed, in his own head. Sports psychology goes both ways...
@@simonlarsson7203 That’s facts
It did but the umpire is paid to do a job and she failed here. We all make mistakes but that’s a key part of her role.
Admit that’s right,he’s opponent just lost his mind and get himself tight
That’s what I call a comeback

Cries in Montanan
He won the Masters of Paris, he was top 10.. now he plays challengers like this.. what happened to Jack?
Happens to a lot of guys. Besides, his focus is on doubles.
I think singles just doesn’t interest him anymore. Quick downfall in singles but he seems happy and satisfied enough which is good.
@@playbetter9194 Yep. And he's got one of the hottest wives on tour. Not. Too. Shabby if you ask me lol.

How do challengers not have baseline judges???
This.
cause there's not enough money
They want to live on the limit
This is why he started playing pickleball

I am sure it is difficult, she chose a difficult job then. Or did someone force her into this role?
Too bad the stats panel obscured Jack sock at the end, couldn't see the handshake with player and / or brushoff with umpire.
If she can't see the balls, they should call their own lines.

Why is it called "Challenger" if you can't challenge?
Hawkeye has fixed all of these theatrics. Some people miss them, some people dont.
Only on atp tour…still like this for challenger tour unfortunately
I am sure u think you are right that what she mesnt obviously. Jack was a promissong player but he is on his way down now.
