    This creature clearly deserves to be destroyed. It's poop takes 500 years to decompose! Think of our children's future!

    With cities and towns ever expanding, you can often spot packs of wild boxes gathering next to garbage collection facilities obviously in search for food.
    Sad to see their homes destroyed like that

    Very informative. I never knew cardboard boxes were native to England. We get them all the way down in Australia as well. They must send the bad ones down here.

    • @TheUnlocked
      @TheUnlocked 6 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Sounds rough. I did some research and it seems they migrated to the Americas on colonist ships back in the 16th and 17th centuries. It's amazing how well the boxes can adapt to any environment.

    I heard about places in urban areas where they force those poor boxes into tiny rooms, torturing them with pressure and chemicals in an attempt to make newer, younger boxes. Who are those "recyclers" to play god?!

    Thank you so much for this program! People today are so used to the mass-produced, genetically modified cardboard boxes available in stores that we have entirely too few opportunities to appreciate the dignity and, dare I say, majesty of these amazing creatures in their natural habitat!
    (My compliments to both of you on a well-tuned ear for parody!)

    As a conservationist and ecologist myself, this provides some real food for thought. I spend most of my time conducting surveys of bats and newts, but you've really opened my eyes to the plight of the cardboard box and I will be sure to pay them more attention in my future work.

    Horrible what these things have been through. I once visited a "friend's" house, only to see the box's natural predator, the cat, ripping into it. Needless to say the cat and the owner will be taken to jail for torturing this poor animal. Thank you for raising awareness about the situation these poor things are in.

    I don't know about them being wild for around these parts the boxes have been tamed becoming part of the family. Often the young ones like to have a chew at some shoes, or consume some memorabilia. Those young boxes are quite sweet about sharing the shoes and memorabilia with the various family members. The mid size middle age boxes are often getting up to mischief, and some actually contain baby boxes that are the true jewels. Then there are the Large boxes that hugely entertain and help the family! They bring around a shared liking of television, fridges, stoves, washers, dryers, and all the fabulous luxuries of modern times. Some folks dress up for holidays, and also dress up their boxes! They even sometimes find the boxes nested together, or sitting on top of each other! It's so surprising!!! The heartbreaking thing is that most species of boxes absolutely fall apart, and die when in contact with most liquids which is why they are tamed here to live indoors. Thanks Kris and Jack for sharing the wild endangered box species indigenous to the Lake District there!

    With pollution rising, some not so hardy types of boxes sadly are on the verge of going extinct. The rest is trying to keep up with an ever changig environment throug mutation by turning into plastic boxes. I am not sure if you have seen some of these specimens. I do believe they can be found everywhere now. They even invade homes! Could you mabe look into this issue? Awareness needs to be raised on this! They are even bred as pets, I believe, and then often released into the wild by their owners...

    Sad to say its not only in England... its all around the world! Mostly all cardboard boxes are having a difficult life thanks to ever expanding cities and pollution! Altho they are not really hunted everywhere I heard that some people use parts or the complete cardboard box as catbeds! Sickening.. I don't know how those people can live with themselves! And those that do not believe me: There are millions of videos right here on youtube that support this fact people! Just watch some "funny cat videos and you'll see!!
